Dude, it took a lot of balls for you to stick to your guns with your channel like you did during the time period with the online narrative surrounding Starfield. Its clearly a passion project for you and I have a feeling its going to start paying off big time. You deserve it. Cheers.
If this channel doesn’t work out with doing ship videos for only Starfield, he could always expand to cover other video games that rely heavily on ship designing. If didn’t know any better, I’d swear Bethesda did a copy and paste of Rebel Galaxy’s ship building mechanics with how its weapons also focus on ballistic, laser and particle beam weaponry, shields and other ship components. That game is a blast to play (pun intended) with its wide variety of ships, armaments and factions.
Dude this is a killer video. Thank you for the effort you put into this. There are so many misconceptions about ships in this game and you make it really clear. I hope Bethesda continues updating the ship building side of Starfield it's honestly the best part of the game.
“Likes the video before even watching it cause you already know its going to be 🔥”
Channels with 2 million subscribed that say boring or obvious stuff and then... you find this pearl. Amazing job! 💯
For best power to weight ratio I like the B39 reactor with the White Dwarf 3015 engines. Build a fast light weight fighter for space battles and a big heavy cargo ship for hauling cargo. I have a Space Truck built to haul 20K cargo and a fighter with minimum cargo. The smaller ship will take on all the cargo of the big ship when you use it as your home ship. You cant add cargo when using it, however you can add a small amount to the captains locker.
After the new update, his videos are the only decent guide. I've use alot of his tips. I have different preferences. I think the B Class Reactor or the Sheared Flow are the best. But he's not wrong about his theories. Thank you for allowing me to confirm alot of my research.
This is a criminally under viewed and underrated video. Amazing work and attention to detail.
Bro deserves a million subs
Great video again! Only minor issue is at level 1-10, money is often going to be an issue, especially if you're also hiring crew and building outposts.
Thanks! I agree with you about available funds, and also consider that some of these early upgrades require skill points in the Piloting or Starship Design skills, which you may not desire at an early character level depending on your play style. If you focus solely on ship building, it is doable, but understand that may not be the highest priority.
Much thanks for a true indepth examination on the Frontier ship and its evolution. 👍🏽🙏🏽👍🏽
As a "newbie" to both ship and outpost building (honestly because both have always felt more complicated than necessary) this video does make me feel more inclined to attempt a ship build.
Another DPS related comment would be regarding turrets: when having both, turret AND particle beam skills fully maxed, turrets become the strongest weapon type by far since they will basically stack both perks on top of each other instead of only gaining the benefits of one weapon type.
And also, great video, there isn’t much quality starfield content out there, so it’s always nice to see some really well made and researched videos.
Not really, manual targeting is far more effective, turrets miss a lot of shots, are bugged ( sometimes won't fire at all ! ) and, to be fair, one only needs 2 sets of weapons : anti-shield and kinetics, for hull damage. Worst, turrets canno be used for boarding purpose, when is a delicate balance between too much damage or too less.
Particle weapons are way too OP and kill all the fun.
Dude CONGRATULATIONS on your channel’s growth! You have grown more than threefold since I last looked at your channel homepage. This shit takes a lot of time and effort, and your content is under-appreciated.
Super informative with no fluff. Thanks!
This video is the GREATEST to help understand the process of ship building/upgrading... especially when and where!
Great job! Thank you for doing the math and presenting your research so thoroughly. I’m nearing the 700 hrs mark on only my third play through. I also tend to completely wring out each play through and here, as well as in the rest of your videos, you’ve confirmed 90% of my suspicions and also taught me some new things! Awesome 😎
It's about time. I can't believe how many people don't get that the some of the A and B class parts are significantly superior to their higher class counterparts. Or that power requirements does *not* necessarily equate to how powerful a part is.
Holy mother of God this is amazing content. Absolutely amazing video!
This Landing Pad on a "Volcano" (@1:45) - sweet. Wish i would find such a spot for my home base too...
Do we know what planet that’s on?
GREAT video. Even just the first part about upgrading the Frontier was worth it. 👏
A Borg Cube, you cute bastard!
Holy hell. I love the Trek designs.
You’ve got a friend in me, buddy.
Pegasus or Galactica too surely!
Hi. Im hetero but i can say that your voice and the style of speaking, it's juts mindblowing. You have a talent there
I just used your millennium falcon redesign (level a engines) to make my own! It’s super finicky but your videos are super helpful!
For anyone keeping the Nova aesthetic, you can grab a cockpit with more storage capacity and identical appearance from the Nova Shipyard. It has a better storage to mass ratio than any of the storage modules, so it's a great place to start when increasing storage capacity. It's also available right away without needing any points in Ship Design.
By far the best video of its kind. No talking shit like so many. Awesome stuff bud. Keep it up.
Very nice, sub earned. So many Starfield haters making content. This is nice to see. I am a fan of the small cargo, fast fighters myself. Dropping cargo on the ship floor works fine in a pinch. Doing another fresh start now avoiding Constelation. Toured the starting planet for awhile until I found a ship to steal. Sarah still waiting for me after telling her I needed time to think about it. 22 levels ago.
Extremely well-produced, cohesive, and detailed guide. Very well done!
There’s only one thing I disagree with you about, which is that Class C engines are not only useful for cargo hauling ships. I really like the 6830’s because I DO care about the mobility stat. If you want to build a ship with up to roughly 7,000 cargo and still have full turning speed, then the 6830’s are basically the only choice. This was the premise of the Citadel. Now it definitely requires careful management of direction change and momentum because it is very slow to change direction at anything over a 90 degree turn. But, despite the mass of the ship it still doesn’t need turrets to be effective in combat. It’s my only ship that still has the triple PB weapon groups though, as I have lately been using the Hellfires as group three. The Citadel definitely needs the range advantage.
By the way I watched the whole video, and again, great job! Nobody dives as deeply into this stuff in their content and it is all extremely useful. Cheers man!
Thank you so much for the kind words!
I agree with you, and understand I’m a bit harsh on the SAL-6830’s. They certainly cannot be beat for their maneuvering thrust and impact on that Mobility stat.
And again, thank you!
@@ShipTechnician of course man! You do awesome work. Keep that shit up!
Fire video, been a big fan of this channel since I discovered it a few days before my favorite ship builder Wize Old Wizard (built the basilisk, rebuilds of popular ships) gave you a shout out particularly I believe on your engine video. Please, keep releasing builds and more informational guides, it's great content and I hope to see a collab jack of all trades between you and @WizeOldWizard one day!
Wize old Wizard is the man, he's also why I found this channel. A collaboration would be fantastic.
Fine detailed coverage of such an underrated aspect to STARFIELD. Ship building in this game is more than some people think.
Excellent video!! I'm new to ship building and really appreciate the thorough info. I also appreciate how you aren't rushing through the subject. Nice deep dive into what I'm starting to think is one of the best parts of this game.
Great video this helped me out so much understanding the whole ship side of Starfield

You built the ship out of it! Top!
Excellent as always! There is just no need for coloring inside the lines in ship building.
Really enjoyed the thorough research - and timely. Just came back for a new NG and I had been following an admixture of my old methods and (early release) bad advice. Not sure I will ever move fully to auto-weapons only loadout. I really like the Disruptor 3300 early game, since I tend toward faster, smaller ship designs. The range and damage are great as well as the fire rate when fully powered. And it's great to have confirmation that the Vanguard Autoprojector is worth the time investment. Thanks for the great video.
This is EPIC. Brilliantly done.
WOWSERS I Need that Bird of Prey Immediately!!! It looks phenomenal great job!! 👍
Thank you! Here is the build video if you’re interested:

So wise , Thank You . Now to actually build something interesting
Hey ShipTechnician, sorry if I missed this in the video or any of your others, but there's one thing I'm confused with about turrets. When multiple turrets of the same weapon assignment face different directions, and therefore only some fire at one time, does it cost the same magazine capacity as if all of them expended ammunition? I've been unsure of whether I need to put all turrets of a type on the same side of my ship, or if I can mix them without wasting ammo.
As always nice work and ive seen it the kom'rk and its beautifull!! i made a aka'jor shuttle of my own and a m3-a scyk fighter too ,using some merge technic it was a difficult but i think i nailed it
Awesome guide! thanks!
absolutely amazing video, my guy
Thank you for this video and your hard work. Appreciate it very much.
Great video for all the new captains out there in starfield.
Excellent content as always.
Excellent work👍👍
I love building ships and this video is a true goldmine.
Great Video! Checking to see if you made a USS Enterprise build video.
Sure thing: czcams.com/video/zm_XuOWdUQE/video.html
Thanks!
@@ShipTechnician Built it today! Thanks for all you do!
WOW this is the video I needed!
Wow, those ships in the intro are awesome
The problem I find with everyone recommending farming the Piloting Simulator causes at least two major issues: You’re racking up the ship kills, but get very little XP and nothing else - only ~90 XP And that’s IF you manage to complete the entire simulation. That’s so little XP even at lower character levels you’d have to repeat the simulation several dozens of times to level up just to earn another point to reach Rank 2 and 3. On top of that, you don’t earn very much credits, quest rewards or resources afterwards, nor are you getting any actual flying/fighting experience with different variety of weapons or ships - especially if players are hack the computer and then only letting the allies help win the simulation for them. It’s far better to just fly out to random(preferably low level) planets looking for enemies to dogfight - even if you do die, the game (usually) resets you to right before the fight started anyway, giving you the chance to either try again or flee. This way you can earn far more XP, resources, and possibly even take over the enemy ship to claim as your own.
I remember clearing tier 6 at level 15 without debugging or a bunch of perk upgrades 1st try.
Expect nothing less from Iceman
I wish I had this video when I was level 1! Dude, where were you 6 months ago?!!! LOL! Fantastic as always ST...keep building!
Very, very good, detailed and usefull upgrade guide, as all of your videos.
I just miss the Information, where you found this awesome island for your landing pad...
tnx and super vid :)
With large ships with low mobility high cargo I make use of turrets and positioning them all around the ship.
Think you could build the olympus mons from infinite warfare?
I always think these are crazy videos. Focusing on A, B and C classes and min-maxed performance but looking for level 1 parts. No level 1 has either the skills or the cash to do the upgrades discussed. It would be like your father gave you a $10,000 used Honda Civic and somebody was telling you that if you took it to the Maserati and Rolls-Royce dealer to swap out all the parts it would be a better car. An average seems to be that players have approximately $7k per level, so useful advice would be if I have $7,000 to upgrade my frontier where would I put it. Similarly if I'm level eight where would I put 56,000 credits... 🤷
Finally, a realistic comment I'm just gonna put it out there. That most people that play starfield played on pc and they give themselves mods to like, give them for the money or Modit. So they can build these massive overpowered. Ships cause there is a limit to how many weapons you can have on a ship in the first place
Please make a tutorial for the destroyer @ 0:16
Very informative vid... thanks! But I would ike to know where you got your spacesuit & helmet...
When it comes to shield, i find that power level is kinda important as well, since you need to put max power in shield to get 100%
Maybe you talk about this later, only watched 10 min, but Particle Weapons have a better range than Laser and Ballistic generally.
Great video!
What about better Class A Reactors?
Bird of Prey looks dope.
Starfield is the shit. Fite me
No argument here
Love you videos, thx so much for sharing your knowledge! Any chance I can convince you to do a Ranger Eagle upgrade video? I love the ship, but I'm still unsure of how best to customize it... Thx again for the videos!
Thank you so much!
And here is that Star Eagle video: m.czcams.com/video/kl0Z_hTZHio/video.html
Sam's top speed bonus can be matched by one other crew member, But not the extra point in engines. Barret Can't be matched by any other crew member for particle weapon damage, next up is 5%.Prioritize as you wish with this information.
This a mocking comment or anything rude, just what i like have found. Is that the laser turret class B but it has to be the greenish looking one it is a rezza,I think that's the spelling it is the double stacked one and I am pretty sure the auto turrets, can have three and really performs excellent also fast fire rate. Thanks for the great video on all this information. Godspeed
Fyi, beneath the flight simulator pod on the right is a bench/trolley/cart that has a passcard on it... its not stealing either...
I'd love to see people post vids one Extreme mode fighting 3 or 4 level 72 Starborn. I can take about 3 with my fighter build. I usually have to kite them 1 by 1. I see alot of people talking about the Vanguard weapons. They are powerful. No argument there. But they are too short range for dealing with certain enemies. However I think there is an Argument to be made with a Particle Turret/ Ballistic manual shot build. I'll need to build another ship and do some more testing. But Extreme is is challenging.
How am I supposed to capture ships with auto weapons blowing them apart?
You’re not :) but yes, if you enjoy EM weapons and boarding ships, please use those. I will often use the Nullifier 1750’s as I believe they provide the best EM damage if you fully equip them.
Isn't "Grav Jump Thrust" affect on how many cargo capasity you can aford?
It is true that your ship’s jump range is negatively impacted by your overall mass. There is a formula to calculate it, but I find it’s far easier to simply scroll through the available grav drives and simply choose one that provides you with enough jump range. If you still cannot get to your desired jump range from the available grav drives, only then would I consider cutting cargo/mass.
How tha fugg did you made the lip animations?
So im just starting out in this game. From level 1-10 there seems a lot of stuff to equip. Is it easy to earn the amount of money needed to buy these parts?
I'm sorry to say, but this game's a bit of a grind unless you're willing to put the time in it. If you re on pc, then mod your game to give you money. If not story missions give you your around 20 grand there is one mission where you at the end of it. You get two hundred and fifty thousand

Long Night Of Solace. Is there a build guide or video coming?
Thanks for asking! Hopefully I can pull one together for you!
Is There a way to Share our builds with you ?
I believe if you go to my channel homepage, and select ‘About,’ you should be able to find a way to message me.
I also meant to respond to you earlier - I revisited the kom’rk I included in this video, based on your comment, and am hoping to share that soon. I’m also hoping if you are able to share your builds with me that you’ll include your build of it!
So it seem i cant send you messages or Share with you my build from your homepage i might just put some photo on the starfield community feed and let you know where to find them
(update i manage to send you a first look at my builds on your @ )
One last try: you should be able to find an address within the ‘more about this channel’ from my Channel homepage. Not sure if that appears for everyone or not, but would love to see your ships!!

In the 10-20 after the new reactor remember to add the two other engines...
Good catch, and depending on your overall mass you may not need those two additional engines. This is discussed around the 37:34 mark, that if you can get away with maximum engine performance with less engines it can be advantageous to do so, because you can use reactor power elsewhere without losing engine performance. Your overall mass does have to be low, but it can be done. I have a separate video where I try to min/max that with the White Dwarf 3015's: czcams.com/video/pP_q2eEmDy4/video.html
65,000 credit bonus don’t forget the key to hack the ship computer and 3x damage and shilrs
Until Bethesda fixes the shield bug, it might be best to leave Vasco at the Lodge.
Oh boy, another bug that I wasn't aware of. What does this bug do?
PS - mate, I watched your upload you asked me to ( about shields) - sadly you miss completely THE best medium shield - take a look again, you ignored the Osiris 2040-B at 8 power and 995 protection.
But THE WORST mistake you did was to silly ignore your character stats, lol. All your results are bugged, because you introduced data / calculate valor like the ship was flying ALONE...
Most peoples do not realize, from lack of experience, are pieces of equipment on this game, at class A, who perform miserable for a new player, but exceed a lot their C class equivalent when the player acquires a certain set of skills.
This affect many things: ship weapons, engines, shields, player weapons, etc.
I made the passage from 199 lvl to 200 using only ONE ship, a Starborn Guardian, with a base shield of 705, class A, but reaching 1125 (bc of skills) ; Is, by far, THE best ship for those who love boarding ships, once the torpedo hits practically immobilize any ship in just 1-2 hits, making them practice targets.
Guardian Starborn ships have THE best in-game shields, after NG+ 3-4 and up, when your shield, taking skills in accounts, pass the 1000 units barrier, and are 2x MORE effective than any other shield ( power to protection ratio is almost triple , 1125 units for 3 power, 375 units/per power unit ) and power consumption ridiculous low (only 3 units of power for a 1125 shield ! ) .
With the right skills, the 705 base shield class A in Guardian ship become a monster, by far THE best ship in-game. The only downside is you cannot upgrade the ship in the usual manner, yet it is way more fun to cripple and board big ships.
Your initial claim was that I misled my viewers. I have proven that isn’t true, using simple math, backed by video proof, and total hours of playtime don’t have any impact on that. Further, your character’s skills apply to all shields, and therefore the simple math would still hold true. The skills simply apply a percentage increase to shield health. This would actually make higher shield health shields even more powerful, and therefore the amount of health they regenerate per second even faster, than the lower health shields you’re promoting.
I do agree that the Osiris shield is a good shield in terms of shield health per power, but we obviously disagree on the importance of shield-health-per-power and regen rate in actual gameplay, and I don’t think we’ll come to an agreement, and that is ok. I also agree that higher level NG+ Starborn Guardian ships provide shield-health-per-power that is unmatched, though the Starborn Guardian ships are for a different play-style entirely because they cannot currently be updated.
Bro can you get my parents back together?
…in the next multiverse…
No real reason to upgrade ships in starfield bc there is no actual spaceflight in the game, its just busywork for the sake of busywork
You spread a misconception, is NOT the biggest shield who keep you alive, lol, but yes, your speed, and maneuverability. What you call "extensive test " ?? I have 3500h on this game, and I can tell - you are deeply wrong about shields!
A 900-1000 shield with regen of 7% or 10% is way better than a big one, once you unlock the right skills. What you forgot to mention - ergo your big mistake - is the "detail" bigger a shield is, the more power hungry it is. And the key on this game is to reach the right balance between power for weapon, engines, and shield. An 8-900 shield will only "eat" 8 units of power, a big one - 12.
And, in practice, especially after you pass lvl 70-100 the enemy NPCs ships have enough power to pop your biggest shield in-game in just 2-3 seconds. Even less. Like I said, play more, especially on high levels, on very hard or extreme. You will learn, eventually, a fast ship with just 2 sets of weapons and a medium ship is stronger than a big one with the biggest shield.
Once you unlock the boost skill, you "gain" immunity, practical, to damage during that boost time, so is no reason at all to invest in a big, power hungry shield. Who will NOT make any difference when you get ambushed by 3-4 high class NPC ships, and you are slow like a whale. Invest, instead, in high speed engines and hard hitting weapons. A pair of Reza lasers and a set of 4 Vanguard cannons, a 900-1000 shield, are all what you need.
Thank you for your comment. I think we would agree on quite a lot:
-The engine boost skill, plus Sam Coe (or another possible crew member that boosts top speed), and a lightweight ship with the White Dwarf 3015’s, makes you near invulnerable with the ability to boost away to recharge your shield.
-The Vanguard Obliterators and the Vanguard Hellfire Autocannons are both incredibly powerful.
-Finding the right power allocation balance across ship systems is critical to being an effective pilot.
I would also kindly encourage you to check out a few of my other videos that share these points, specifically:
Maximum Stat Lightweight Fighter: czcams.com/video/ydBPAPpb-wE/video.html
Shield Regen Rate: czcams.com/video/GaQbarICpHw/video.html
That second video, I believe, is where we may differ ever so slightly. You referenced only needing to allocate 8 units of power to a shield. Technically, the shields with the highest shield-health-per-power are the Assurance 1800 and the 28T Defender, which are the two highest shields in terms of shield health in the game as well. So even if you only allocated 8 points to those shields, you are still getting more shield health than any other shield.
You may argue that those shields do not have as quick of a regen rate. That is true for the Assurance, though the 28T Defender does have a better regen rate. However, given how slowly it takes for a shield to even begin regenerating regardless of its regen rate, and especially the fact that you would need to be capable of boosting away fast enough, and far enough, to no longer take damage and begin the recharge process at all, the regen rate statistic is effectively worthless in real gameplay terms. Now, you also appealed to a very high number of gameplay hours, that I needed to “unlock the right skills,” as well as suggesting I play on Very Hard or Extreme difficulty. My character's skills are fully maxed, and all of the ship battles in my videos are on Very Hard difficulty, displaying victories against Legendary ships, a full fleet of high level ships at Kryx, and multiple high level Starborn ships.
Again, thank you for your comment. I do believe the ship parts you outlined and how you use them are certainly viable, powerful options, and I do believe we have much that we agree on, except your point that I am spreading misconceptions. On that we disagree.
@@ShipTechnician - I may ask you what is your max lev ? and how many NG+ you get ? and how many times you started a full new game ? Because, I really doubt you have "experienced" as much I did, and from those 3500h+ I have under the hood, I can tell you, 100% certain, your approach of favoring big shields is a mistake. Why is that - you will ask:
1 - that 5 % to 10 % recharge rate made a significant difference ( 1-2 sec faster, and - MOST important ! - you reach FULL shield charge A LOT faster ! Obvious, the system will fill 900-1000 units of power MUCH faster than 2-3000 ! )
2 - at high lvs ( and using "wanted" trait) on very hard / extreme you will get "ambushed" a lot by top tier Ecliptic ships, armed with particle weapons - NO SHIELD in-game can take the fire of 2-3 such ships more than 1-2 seconds ! Investing in big shields with slow regen and power hungry do NOT offer real advantages in such scenario, only disadvantages.
3 - Legendary ships are easy to fight, with the proper use TCS (targeting control sys) - you can easily kill ANY legendary in a grade A well build. The real "hard" fights are when you jump in the middle of 3-4 Ecliptic Claymore II and III. Did you even bother scanning the potential damage of JUST ONE such ship ? They will not only engage you from extreme distances, usually well ahead of your ability to acquire them, and, like I said, even the BIGGEST / strongest shield will not last more than 2-3 sec under such pressure. Maybe half a second/ one second more than a medium shield ? But while a depleted medium will be FULLY recharged at the end of your boost away sequence, a heavy shield will struggle half-way on the same time, with luck ! This is the crucial detail. Reason why I argued you spread misconceptions.
New players need to learn to invest on skills who will cover them for such scenario, and modules to give them an edge when combined with those skills - and not in wasting reactor power in almost useless, imaginary, "better" protection.
That is, imho, the way to go, especially now, with the introduction of "extreme" mode, in the last update.
-“while a depleted medium [shield] will be FULLY recharged at the end of your boost away sequence, a heavy shield will struggle half-way on the same time, with luck !”
-“Obvious, the system will fill 900-1000 units of power MUCH faster than 2-3000”
Simple math would suggest that half of 2-3,000 is actually more than 900-1,000. Plus, in the time it takes for a 10% regen rate shield to fully recharge, a 5% regen rate shield has recharged 75% of its health, and a 7% regen rate shield has reached 85%. That is much more than “half-way” as you suggest. That makes this disparity in total regenerated shield health even greater between the two.
Now, the figures you used were not exact, and so that I’m being fair to your argument, let’s establish the shield that provides the most health with a 10% regen rate is the Deflector SG-60 Shield Generator, providing 860 shield health. The next highest, the 60S Protector Shield Generator, provides 810. And let’s compare that to the Assurance SG-1800 which provides 1,600 health with a 5% regen rate, and the 28T Defender provides 1,500 health with a 7% regen rate. And though additional percentage boosts to shield health provided from skill bonuses will actually provide more health increases to the higher health shields, I’ll even ignore that for the moment to try to lean into your argument even more.
In the time it takes the 10% rate Deflector SG-60 to fully recharge to 860 health, the Assurance SG-1800 is at 75%, or 1,200 health, and the 28T Defender is actually higher still at 1,275 health. And shield health regeneration is linear, meaning at every point in time as these shield regenerate they will always have more shield health than the Deflector G-60.
I appreciate the thoughts here, though I am uncertain you went and watched my video on shield regen rate before responding: czcams.com/video/GaQbarICpHw/video.html
Perhaps you could use some of the next few hours past 3,500 that you play the game to perform some controlled tests of your own, do the math, and share video proof that validates your claim about such shields providing more protection. I would certainly be interested in that.
@@ShipTechnician - since you avoided all my requests to present your level of experience in this game, AND all your arguments have almost no cover in terms of practical gaming, I am inclined to believe you still have a lot to learn about the game mechanics. Like I said before, play more, and you will learn more. You not even paid attention to what I wrote - I was talking about MEDIUM ships/MEDIUM shields, B class not A class! ...yet you use A class, light shields, when you made your argument. Best medium shields in game are NOT what you showed here, but instead Osiris 2040-B, or Tower 940, who gives you almost 1000 (995/950)) protection at only 8 power but with 7% regen. These 4 units of power you save here can power a very strong weapon or 2 Vanguard weapons.
Then again, you pushed the illusion of "big shield = better protection" when, in fact, in practical terms, it is NOT the case. The 1500/12 power shield is giving you 125 units of protection / one unit of power, yet the Osiris I mentioned gives you almost the same ( 124,375 instead of 125 ! Insignificant difference ! ) - but at 7 % repair rate, significant lower mass (and cheaper, even if the creds are irrelevant after first 2-3 hours)
But again, none of these is so important like the power difference.
The essential argument here is you get good protection at only 2/3 of the power required for another shield who gives you marginally better protection ( the 1500 variants at 12 power), when, in practice, you sacrifice 4 UNITS OF POWER to gain just a bit of extra protection, with a LOWER regen rate. This is, in my opinion, a BAD DEAL, especially after you pass lvl 100-150 and most of your enemies are now on very strong ships, with enough firepower to absolutely ignore your "extra" 500 units on shields ( from 1000 B class, to 1500 ).
Are you aware most of the high tier weapons can inflict easily MORE than 500 dam on shields in JUST ONE SECOND ??? A single Reza 10 can go near 200 dam/sec - just ONE turret ! Now do the math for 4 turrets and 2-4 particle weapons ( 2 Claymore II / III shoting at you) - then you will realize, I hope, why those 500 "extra" on shields are INSIGNIFICANT !
Those extra 500 units on shield are simply NOT WORTH to sacrifice 4 units of power and wait MORE to regen !
Protection from shields are good enough if it will keep you alive 4-5 sec, at least. 500 units extra will NOT give you the upper hand if 3 Claymore II & III are shooting at you ! If you failed to realize this, sure enough, you REALLY need to play more.
But 4 units of power MORE will give you an advantage, that is sure ( for weapons, engines or BOTH).
I hope you read again the arguments I posted in the previous post, since I will not repeat myself.
In a side note, to satisfy your "curiosity" and answer your lack of experience, I tested shields of 10 000 units (using mods) and they go down almost as fast as a regular big one, of 1500. Something you never did, otherwise you will not keep arguing here lol.
@@ShipTechnician - Sam Coe comes with the crappy bug of making your ship unable to stop - something you really need in targeting mode, and boarding. So a BIG NO - NO to the Sam Coe.
People still play Starfield? Anyone playing since launch? What do you do with your time in game, honest question
I'm a very Storydriven player, so I'd basically redo the story every game plus but I also moneygrined and Build bases.
And I also loved doing the piracy in the game
@@jakedavies990 nice.
The balancing feels broken. Level 1 and u get the best stuff of the game? Like whats the point playing at all without any progression
That's false. Many parts that are better get unlocked on specific levels and skills. Not sure what you're on about. Besides you need your ship to be at it's best or you'll get killed in space.
@@Cibbic i am referring to the vanguard auto cannons mentioned in the video to be the best of the game, which can fire a lot even with just one energy. So not based on my experience but on the explanation in the video. 1-10 level part.
Just one ? Why bother because the ships are just fancy loading screens with storage. Even the so called battles in them are so bad 1990 games did it better
*OUTSTANDING instructional Video* ....💫🌍🚀🛸🛰🌟🌛
The Game Makers, should hire you & drop you some serious creds, for this video production. 😍👍
All Hail the Game Makers! (Todd?)
Exactly what I was looking for. 🫡
