Who owns the media houses? They are either the politicians or cronies of politicians. Who pays the piper dictates the tune. It is that simple. Don't you think?
If an independent media org, for example, Sahara Reporters, asks Nigerians to fund it by contributing =N=10 each, will anyone contribute? So, why should we expect to have independent, objective, and effective media houses?

Lawal started the interview well but I am very dissapointed in him from what he's saying towards the end of the interview. Whether or not it is a Northerner or Southerner as president, the truth is both Tinubu and his predecessor are from the same political party as Lawal, and they all, to say the least, failed woefully. In fact, Tinubu's ongoing failure, though laughable considering he's named a master strategist, is sponsored or orchestrated by Buhari's massive failure for 8 years in office. Yet, Lawal is saying he wants a Northerner as president next election. How will having a Northerner as president solve these problems? Shouldn't we be more interested in competence and excellence? To cap it all, he has no one in mind, and claims he believes some Northerners are already warming up? I expected some more reasonable argument from someone who was once the secretary to the government of the federation. Absolutely cringeworthy!

What has characterized the Tinubu's government this past one year is anti-economic and people's policy that wasn't properly thought (the pros and cons of the policy) out but implemented in a rush to probably impress the WEST and maybe to achieve an intended result that even a layman knows cannot be achieved. Now that the consequences of Tinubu's inactions are before us, biting hard on people's pocket with its adverse effect on our economy, the only solution the so-called master strategist have is reeling out beggarly policies of sharing peanuts 20k and 40k naira that will further impoverish the people and enrich the so-called government personnel that was assigned to manage the implementation of emilokan's beggarly policy. Look at the Humanitarian ministry for example, i don't think its achieving its overall goal of poverty alleviation.

So he feels bad that Tinubu is replicating exactly what his former boss (Buhari) did to the Southerners while in office? As SGF, he didn't tell us why he never advised or condemned his boss for his one-sided appointments then. Now that the chicken has come home to roost he is complaining. It's clear to us now that your support for PO then wasn't about your belief in a new Nigeria rather it was because you needed to make a statement to BAT about his choice of a Muslim-Muslim ticket. Why would you call for a northern president to truncate the turn of the south to run its 8 years in power if not for selfish and arrogant reasons? Buhari is a northerner and he didn't advance the course of the north where he comes from. Instead, his administration took this country especially the north years behind. This country has experienced a history of more northern leaders than the south but the situation of the north didn't reflect it. So where did you learn that until a northerner takes over power in 2027, the north will suddenly become eldorado? Am truly disappointed in the fact that despite your education and elitist status, you still would reason along this line let alone spew it on national TV. I expect that you would know better instead of promoting this backwards mindset. Good governance is not about tribe or religion but about fairness, equity, and justice for all, competent leadership, a trusted character, and a compassionate heart. That is what we want to be embodied in whoever will take the country out of the current doldrums it has been over the years and not whether the person is Northerner or Southerner. Get it?

A northerner coming back to power is a selfish comment from my friend Babachir Lawal. Just one year after Buhari your supposedly family member left office, he couldn’t change the life of your people and you expect that some magic will come from another tenure in Aso Rock to rescue the same that you had the opportunity to rescue yourself and your brother.

It is disappointing to see individuals revel in Nigeria's challenges under the current administration simply because their personal ambitions were not fulfilled. It is important to remember that Nigeria is resilient and will overcome its current obstacles to become a great and united nation, by the grace of God.
I urge those who are quick to criticize the government to reflect on their own actions and contributions during their time in office. It is easy to point fingers, but it takes true dedication and integrity to fulfill responsibilities and make a positive impact.
Criticism should come from a place of genuine concern for the well-being of Nigeria and its people, not from personal agendas. I commend individuals like the former NHIS Boss who offer honest and constructive criticism. Their insights should be valued and taken seriously by the government. God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
