    Corporations pay 33% taxes, which isn't low. Corporations go to other countries for favorable rates, say 15-19% in Ireland. The higher the taxes, the less the profit, the less the hiring, the more the layoffs, the more the flight of companies to more tax-benign countries, the worse the economy. Simple as that, it is. Trickle down is natural economics and if you flout that, then you spiral downward into a recession of depression. Poor people don't pay anything, like I told you.

We despise them because THEY GOT A LIFELINE and pretend that it didn't matter to them, and won't matter if they take that AWAY from everybody else. Kudos to him that he got rich. Now stop kicking poor people just 'cause you can.

    The person who signed those papers still has a vote, a voice, and can donate to the candidate of his choice from his own income. If he uses his business and its capitol to buy politicians, well then he gets double (or greater) voice in our political process. Legislation and tax breaks will go to the corporations who donate the most. It is "common sense" that this cannot stand. That is unless you want your kids to become serfs to the mighty conglomerates.

  • @tonyfruits
    @tonyfruits Před 11 lety

    Some corporations pay 33%, but there are plenty of corporations that pay in single digits, such as GE. But as I said before, corporations have had more profits than ever before, and the rich are getting richer. And I don't care how much you say it, there ARE poor people below the poverty line that pay taxes. Some may not, but most of them do. Trickle down is not natural either, it's what caused this massive separation of wealth in the first place.

It's patriotic if anything, not unconstitutional. And again, poor people pay taxes too! If they did get a living wage through welfare without paying taxes, poverty would never be a problem in the first place!! Corporations have had the lowest tax rates in decades! Where are the jobs then? When will you learn that trickle down is pure b.s.?

    She may not be lying about her native american history. Everyone with native american blood doesn't go down and try to get "approval" of the native american tribe. I am black and my grandfather's mother was a full blood choctaw indian. My grandmother was part black hawk. When I was 7 yrs old my grandad took me upon the reservation in Philadelphia, MS to meet his folks on the reservation. They were FULL BLOODED indians. I NEVER tried to get recognition of native american ancestry. Didn't want to.

That is what corporations do. However, I don't think she would exclude anyone who is guilty of this. She is a consumer advocate. She fights for the poor. The vulnerable. Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation is 1/32 Cherokee, which, according to the Boston Globe, is the exact degree that Elizabeth Warren is Cherokee. Aside from all of that, all of her previous employers have stated that her Native American ancestry played no part in the hiring process. Of course, that didn't stop Harvard from using her ancestry in an attempt to alleviate criticisms about lack of faculty diversity, but that's on Harvard, not Warren.

I'd be glad that the people he hired to work could make enough to support their families and maybe give their own sons a chance to hit it big. It involves vast infrastructure projects, laws that stop discrimination against businesses denying people because of prolonged unemployment, AND tax cuts/tax credits/tax holidays for businesses for hiring more employees. Those are actually decent points but you can't compare slavery to abortion. Remember slavery was constitutional until amendments 13-15 were added. But the point I've been trying to make this whole time is that it is Republicans who fail to distinguish between decisions they'd make on an individual basis and those that should be made by the federal government. Federal marriage laws, abortion laws, are not powers delgated to the U.S. by the constitution, so they should be left to the states

    False equivalency. It's true that both sides support massive subsidies for energy companies. But an overwhelming percentage goes to oil companies, and most of the support in government comes from politicians that get campaign contributions from oil companies - and oil companies overwhelmingly support Republicans. Solyndra got 550 million. Exxon gets 4 billion a year. Solyndra went bankrupt. Exxon has record busting profits and pays no taxes.

    Yes. You give 100 dollars to a millionair, and it might as well not exist any more. It will sit in a bank, being loaned out if banks feel like it, esentially becoming millions of fractions of paper-clips or whatever. You give 100 to a poor person, and they'll be able to pay for gas, food, rent, school clothes, books, and a damned beer because when you don't have a yacht, a beer at the end of the day is the only way you can relax. This creates demand, which incentivizes expansion of businesses.

    Also, your same logic would implies that no other religion has ever had marriages, and should never. (nor atheists.)
    We've seen religious sacraments also have secular versions, as well. For instance, "holiday" was once holy day. All are ok, but marriage is not?

    In the similar fashion, marriage is the joining of two people into one legal economic entity, similar to how religious marriage is the joining of two people into one spiritual entity.
