  • How to 360 Product Photography Using a Motorized Photography Turntable & Shutter Stream 360 Product Photography Software.
Steps in how to create 360 Product Photography:
    1. Connect compatible camera via USB to computer (complete list of compatible cameras can be viewed here: www.iconasys.com/shutter-stre...)
    2. Launch software, this will automatically enable the camera Live View feed to the software and will display in real time. In this step, users will adjust camera settings and set a focal point (using mouse clicks). Shutter Speed is critical here and the value used will be dependent on your turntable's rotation speed. In this video, we actually adjusted shutter speed from 1/4 to 1/15 (and increased ISO to compensate for exposure) before we started shooting.
    3. Power on Motorized Photography Turntable - this will start turntable rotation. In this set user will want to ensure the object has been positioned correctly in the center of the turntable and also set pre-crop markers (if required) around the product being photographed as it turns in 360.
    4. Enter 360 Shooting mode in the Shutter Stream 360 software and select 'Continuous Turntable' photography mode.
    5. Enter number of frames (total number of frames required over a 360 rotation) and the capture frequency (that is how often you would like the camera to capture - for ex. every 2 seconds). The total number of frames multiplied by capture frequency must match the turntable spin duration (RPM). Ex. if your turntable spins at 60 seconds / 360 rotation and you would like 20 total frames, the capture frequency should be 3 seconds.
    6. When the turntable gets to the angle at which you would like to start with the capture, hit the Start button in the software. This will automate 360 product photography capture and instantly upload the individual images into the Shutter Stream 360 Product Photography Software after capture.
    7. After 360 Product Photography is complete, users can now edit the set of 360 images (batch editing using a single click) to achieve white backgrounds, correct color and enhance image quality, resize, rename and output. Output can be individual images in JPG, PNG, TIFF, WebP or RAW format OR a 360 Product View in Interactive HTML5, GIF, MP4 or Interactive MP4 format (additional info on 360 output options and format can be viewed at: www.iconasys.com/shutter-stre....

So you shot a moving object with the shutter speed at 1/4 of a second? You will see motion blur.

Youre absolutely correct Kevin! We did increase ISO and sped up the shutter to 1/15 before shooting and that eliminated the blur!

having 360 images ready is great; but how it run in marketplace image place holders? what compression scheme it supports and do we need a plugin to have the 360 run in amazon, shopify or self run eShop? TKS

Thanks for reaching out George! I wish there was an easy answer for you - all eCom platforms and marketplaces are different. Some, you can upload your 360's views and embed them into pages/product pages, some (ex. shopify) you can work with 360 product view plug-ins and some have pre-built in 360 capabilities (ex. Amazon) in wish you just provide a 360 image set (based on their listed requirements). We provide customers access to the individual image sets (in multiple different image formats) and also give 360 view outputs (in multiple different formats (ex. HTML5, MP4, GIF). This allows our customers, if selling on a single or multiple marketplaces/platforms to have the ability to deliver whatever the platform/marketplace demands for 360 requirements.

So this software will work with a Nikon D7100 and a third-party turntable? Also, does this software require updates? If so, free updates? Is this software user-friendly?

    • @iconasys
      @iconasys  Před 7 měsíci +1

Thanks for reaching out. The Nikon D7100 is included in our camera compatibility list so it will work! The software does not require updates - it will function fine with out them. Purchases are for a perpetual license (meaning it wont turn off ever) and include 1 year free software upgrades and support. After the first year, should you wish to update, the price is $129/year.

Ok , thank you for your quick response. Note: I would be using this for shooting lighters and small accessories.@@iconasys

Can I set the motorized table in the software to stop at every angle before the picture gets taken and then starts moving again to the next one etc? That would eliminate the need to mind the shutter speed and/or get motion blur. Our current software is able to do so but doesn't support our new camera (Canon R6 MK II) and crashes a LOT so we're looking for alternatives right now :)

Thanks for reaching out! Do you have a turntable from Iconasys or a different brand? If an Iconasys turntable, yes, you can work with the Iconasys Turntable Controller Software and pre-define the number of frames per 360 and a delay at each turntable stop (ex. wait 3 seconds). If working with a 3rd party turntable, I'm not sure the functionality without knowing more about the turntable brand itself.
Regarding the Shutter Stream 360 Product Photography Software in this video, users do have full control on capture frequency (defined in seconds (ex. 4.85 seconds) so essentially yes, you should be able to coordinate the capture frequency with the turntable stop motion!
I hope we were able to answer your question however if we missed the boat, feel free to reply and clarify so we can understand correctly. Thank you!

@@iconasys Thank you for the quick reply. We're using a TopShow3D TSA table and our current software is object2vr.
And yes, I think you have answered my question :) But just to be sure (the language barrier can sometimes be a problem, sorry for that): We usually take 12-24 shots per 360° and the table stops at those points, the picture is taken, the table then moves on automatically and so on until the whole thing is done. This makes the workflow very easy, and before buying another software, we just wanted to make sure that it gives us the same convenience, so that the camera and the table can do their job automatically while our guys are getting the next product ready for shooting. That saves so much time.
