Hello, I’m an Irish-Nigerian-American language learning CZcamsr hailing from New York!
I currently speak seven languages. Six of which I taught myself from scratch. By 2023, I aim to learn another five. The languages I currently speak are English, Japanese, Russian, Dutch, French, Chinese and Spanish.

u could have ones day streak below their name in the multiplayer game
this would make ppl more competitive cuz they can brag about their day streak and see if they have a higher day streak, which would also give them a boost
for the rest love the language, at least from what ive seen :p

would be cool if you could only unlock the "conversation with foreigners" after u grind the basics of the language, that would give u motivation to grind in first place.
Well, what would do if you were more intermediate, or advanced in a language? Not grind and just get all the halfway free stuff to begin with? It could work, but it take away from some of the fun....
@@weirdsweetcoolplants I don’t think this app is for advanced, maybe up to intermediate. If you’re advanced, most language learning apps are not that good. It’s better to self study and talk with actual people if you’re advanced. But for beginners up to intermediate apps like these seem pretty fun
@@weirdsweetcoolplants Well I suppose before u start, the app will give you a test to see your level. if u are intermediate you can skip the basics and go to conversation right way I think.

Well, the app should cover a decent amount of languages soon enough, so you can start a fresh new language if you are already advanced in yours :)

This has ignited my passion for language learning once again. I took a Japanese class in highschool because of Ikenna and quit trying to learn Japanese when he stopped posting but now he’s back! Back I say, Ikenna I love you so much. Thank you for the opportunities you’ve provided for me and everyone else. Ikenna I hope you get better as well you’re an absolute role model to me. Once again, thank you so much Ikenna!
First of the app looks amazing! A bit of constructive criticism - in terms of the point system (for the second game mode), I suggest you make the values bigger. Keep the ratios the same but times them all by 100 for example - getting "200" points at the end of a round is much more satisfying than getting "2" (even if its the same relatively).

that sounds like such a corporate thing, "lets focus on things that make them think they are enjoying it instead of things they will actually enjoy"
@@georgejuh you're so right, but somehow oc is too. Maybe because the corporations have trained me so well, but I first saw the low point values and was like "eh". First to 1500 makes more sense in my brain
@@georgejuh its a corporation thing because it works. seeing big numbers make us more satisfied than seeing small numbers, even if they hold the same value relatively

It's understandable that you might assume this, but I would caution against such a blanket statement. While there are certainly examples of unethical or harmful corporate behavior, it's not accurate to assume that all corporations are inherently "evil" or "bad." Like any other institution, corporations can be complex and varied, and it's important to evaluate each one on a case-by-case basis.
Omg Xiaoman this is fabulous!! I am glad you're better. I lost my hearing and had surgery and have difficulty hearing it still, but seeing you .. from the beginning, going throughout this, I'll, and preserver, give me hope. That my new hearing aids will work with fluyo.

in the second mini game would be cool if u get "better cards" as u progresses, so u give harder words for your opponent. the top tier deck could be full of sentences and so on.

What languages can we learn except Spanish, French and Chinese? If there's no other languages for now I'd love to learn Japanese, Russian or German!
Honestly your story is so inspiring and it's kind of a dream to be able to speak a lot of languages, but I'm never motivated enough to try anything else than Duolingo, which is boring after some time... I have it as a dream but I'm never able to take a step forward.. So I hope with your new app I can try to fulfill at least partly that dream!
It'd be amazing to be able to also learn Polish. Hope you guys can add it later! :)
They want to add Japanese later on but I dont think they will have it on release

@@vicrai578 Możesz to zrobić! Polski to trudny język, ale moim zdaniem jest bardzo ciekawy i rozrywkowy do się uczenia.
Translation: You can do it! Polish is a difficult language, but in my opinion it is very interesting and fun to learn.
Source: I've been learning for more than a year. I started with Duolingo, finished it, and moved on to Lingq to continue learning, but I know that it isn't for everyone. I hope Fluyo adds it as an option so you can achieve your goals!

I really doubt you have that as resources are very thin... But I would really love an app where I could learn Albanian (Tosk dialect NOT Gheg)!! Happy for you being able to launch this, I just wish I could find resources for Albanian in the right dialect...

Just found your channel.
I can relate I’ve been bedridden since 2020 doing physical therapy and slowly getting better.
Now I can walk a short walk and stand for an hour and be okay.
Two years ago I couldn’t stand for even 5 seconds without feeling really dizzy and stuff.
Also I’m interested in learning new languages so I’m excited for this.

I got a couple questions about the games...for hot potato, wouldn't one player be able to run the time down to 1 second, then pass to someone else? Or do they have an independent timer - where yours goes to 1 second but once it's sent to me I have 10 seconds?
Then for the card game, since the opponent chooses the card - and therefore the point value - would they not just only send the lowest point value possible every time. What is the incentive for the opponent to send a higher-value card?
I'm super excited for the app but I know user experience between players is crucial for its success - and I also know that humans are competitive even when we don't need to be...if there is a way for a player to "cheese" the games to their benefit, they will...even if it takes away the fun learning experience for the other players.
These are just some things I noticed, and I know this is just a brief demo where the actual games may not allow these exploits, but I thought I'd mention them in case they happened to be overlooked amongst the multitude of tasks involved in the app development.
Very excited for the kickstarter. Would definitely love to see Korean and Japanese to be added in the future
