  • Part 1 - One of my better buys of 2020. Whether or not I just got lucky this is an amazing guitar and this video's the 'here's why'.

    Gear used:
    Straight into Amplitube 4 on the American Clean 2 amp setting (wth onboard spring reverb) and Fender Champ cab sim. For gain I used the Mosky D250X on the MXR distortion setting before the input to the soundcard.

    The problem with the noise of pickups is that the ground does not do it well because the cable connects with the bridge that is painted with non-conductive paint, if we scrape the bridge a little and it makes good contact with the metal the noise disappears

    Hey, great breakdown of this guitar, ive got this coming in the next week or so, and wondered if my old les paul humbuckers with covers will fit in the mounts on this? ive heard they are slightly small and only fit non covered humbuckers.

    • @kevinboor3560
      @kevinboor3560  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes the covers at a couple or three mm. I'd say the neck would be OK as you can shavs a litle off the guard but would worry about the space in the bridge as that's not so easy to widen

      @@luishoxha141 its alright if you're going to upgrade everything on it. such as tuners, and electronics. try to get pickups without covers, it was such a pain to file out the bridge pickup hole for the EMGs to fit. also if you get a new scratch plate, youll need to file it to fit around the neck and bridge, also will need to make some new screw holes.

      @@SleepscapeSerenity thanks for the elaboration and advice. I’ll be getting and play it as is, since it’s going to be my first electric. Maybe then upgrade stuff like tuners and/or electronics :)

    So in essence.. if you had to change so much. As a player for 32 years, this is not a good backup guitar.... without throwing more money at it 🤷 which then deems a "used" better model and brand the ticket. I dunno.
