    Nick Ariondo, Double Grammy Award Winner with the LA Opera Orchestra, performs a solo encore of his incomparable Flight of the Bumble-bee. Composed by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Flight of the bumble-bee has become an international favorite. This riveting solo rendition by Ariondo showcases the accordion's dynamic range and technical mastery -- the L.A. Times calls Nick Ariondo the 'preeminent accordionist'. Sponsored by the Hennings-Fischer Foundation/Olympia Philharmonic Society, Nick was honored to partake in this memorable concert tribute dedicated to the great violin master/pedagogue Noumi Fischer. Throughout his career, Ariondo has created a large reportoire of specialized arrangements & original compositions for the accordion, from vocal to chamber and orchestra, encompassing musical styles from baroque, classical, folk and gypsy, to jazz, pop and modern contemporary.

      Maybe because of its natural fade ins/fade outs... it fucking BREATHES... It's a living instrument.. I'm a guitarrist and I love it.. But accordean is just an abstract of all instrument in one place.

    EXCELLENT, OUTSTANDING. We can see the professional musicians in the back smiling with admiration. Those smiles worth thousands of clapping.
    Just like the great classical guitarists and great flutists like Jean-Pierre Rampal are credited for returning their respective and beloved instruments to popularity as solo and serious concert instruments. The same well deserved credit goes to *Mister Ariondo* and other great accordionists. I can safely say that the accordion is a complete instrument, a little orchestra by itself.
    Thank you for sharing.

    • @ayembic7933
      @ayembic7933 Před 3 lety +1

      It's quite simple really, once you've learnt the muscle memory for right hand piano &bass or bass and treble button for accordion,,,, then all the skill is just in the bellows. It's probably not got as high a skill cap as instruments like a violin or piano, but the bellows are capable of a LOT of expression. managing air for over a hundred reeds that use different volumes of air for the same audible volume is REEEEEE hurts my brain

    I play the violin, and I know that everyone says it’s the hardest instrument. But looking at the accordion, it looks to me a lot harder than the violin. Is it harder? Or is it just in my head, example: English doesn’t seem hard because we know it. Chinese sounds so complex, but people who speak Chinese probably think English sounds complicated and is harder.
