That’s awesome, thanks for sharing! I can’t wait for the next wrench fest so I can get mine out of the center consul and concealing mounted!

Thank you for sharing this. This is the most helpful video that I have found. Excellent video.

“Cat 6, Cat 5” as you stated is a cable type. The connection is an RJ45 connector.

Awesome. Thank you for the correction. I learned something new. I always try to use the correct terminology but sometimes get it wrong.

Whenever you run a penetration through a seal, as with a rubber grommet, always run a drip loop. In other words, run your wire past the point of entry by about an inch or two, and then come up to the point where you're running the wire through the firewall. Also put silicone grease around the wires/cables/hoses going through the grommet.

So -for next time- that nub you ran the wires under is meant to have the tip cut off and wires ran through it. Its a direct firewall pass through that Toyota put there to prevent people from cutting holes is the boot. After you run the wire through, zip tie the outside of the nub to keep water from passing through.

Did the A.C. / heating duck when in use create a problem for the radio? The blowing of cold or hot air on the radio. Love the video, great job. Thank you help me alot

Glad my videos are helpful! The mount is the DMM from thetacogarage.com and i am using the small magnet mount. For the radio hanger i just took a piece of flat strap and drilled some holes in it, unscrewed the magnet and screwed it in.

Epoxy, bad move if you ever want to remove.

I think for the cost of the blank and the cable if i ever decide to move or remove it i will be ok with it. Better than it rattling loose with super glue or something similar like what happened on another vehicle.

Please see below straight from their website. So either they are falsely advertising or you are misinformed. I would be genuinely curious to know which one is correct
“Midland Radio is known as the first CB radio manufacturer in the United States, highlighting their expertise in American-made CB radios.”

Insane amount of work to get that extension cable into the plate. Why didn’t you just buy one in the premade RJ45 pass through plate?
