- It took me 8 days to clear The Epic of Alexander Ultimate in party finder, start to finish. This was a blast and TEA is possibly my new favorite ultimate raid in FFXIV.

As someone who watches your content for the guides on how to prepare for harder content and those small unwritten rules in PF i found this video extremely helpfull! As of right now I am getting into P2S in PF and hoping to clear the tier before DT comes out and watching these kinds of videos has helped me relax and stop stressing about actually "needing to perform well enough for savage". I hope to see more stuff like this from you!

Congrats! It took me 2 months to clear TEA. One full month of it was on BJCC alone because PF just could not do it. I don’t know how people find these miracle parties in pf. I never find them lol. Had the same issue with P6 in DSR. I always try to be honest and join parties with my actual prog point but after a month of BJCC I had enough and joined an inception party. We made it there on the first pull lol
It seemed like everyone was trying to jump ahead of their actual prog point. I tried being honest about it at first, but quickly realized that I’d have to go at least two mechs ahead to even see the mechanics I wanted to lol
@@99_Vit That's exactly how it goes in JP as well, if a party says BJCC it's actually LC prog. If it says Inception it's probably BJCC and so on.

i remember my first tea clear 2 years ago the good ol days, i recently just cleared dsr in pf and am almost done with top in pf. it is possible to pf newer ults and older u just need to persevere. congrats man💗

It took me a year to clear TEA, from 5.1 launch til 5.3. Granted, there were breaks in between, specifically for E8S which took me 6 months to clear and broke up 2 of my statics. But eventually I found a new group and resumed prog on TEA. It was my 2nd ever ultimate clear, with UCOB being progged on the side which took 1 month start to finish.
Back when I started progging, PF progging ultimates was a meme, no one took it seriously, it didn't exist. It really didn't take off until late ShB with LPDU and it's crazy how far it has come. I cannot imagine progging any ultimate in just 8 days, and TEA is no joke, but at the same time the culture around ultimates now has created so much darn impatience, which I most prominently saw trying to do TOP. So many groups just fall apart in TOP because we expect to clear in 1 month, because hey, that's what some random partyfinder gigachad did so we must be able to do it as well.
Being in TOP PF now trying to get to at least p6 before DT now (because any static I've joined has just gone poof after a few weeks), I have reached p5 once in around 3 weeks of "p5" pf. It's misery, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemies. With how ultimates are now, I don't know if I will continue doing them in EW, it used to be something I really enjoyed and I still do enjoy TOP, but it's just been a miserable prog experience.
DSR and TOP seem like a very different PF experience compared to the legacy ults. It gets extremely rough once you get to the later phases from what I've seen of friends doing it lately. My first TOP group started day 1 when it released and I didn't clear it until 11 months later with some breaks along the way. Definitely a marathon and not a sprint with that fight. Just gotta keep at it and you'll get there

Yeah because of how synching works, getting BIS for Tea or any of the older ultimates will be so small it's not even worth it, your damage is so high that sometimes you'll want to hold your damage to push the phase, and the dmg is so low that you trivialize many mechanics. You'll see this is DSR and TOP when Dawntrail comes out.
That's great that Tea has sims, i've been progging ucob myself but a lot of them require the whole party there unforuntetely but I use them when I can, I mean I really don't count simulators as cheating as it's not a 3rd party tool, ur just skipping to a certain part of the fight youj can do over and over. you can try to make the arguement that raids are suppose to be a staminia test and this cuts down this down as you'll be raiding less, but w/e saves you time i say as long as it's not splatoon.
TEA is super fun, it still is a challenge and requires different skills throughout the fight. The prog is also fun imho, but practicing p1 and p2 def is rough. It's pretty smooth once you have it down tho. Love the puzzle nature of it as well.

That one is just for tea but XIVsim has a bunch of the others and even some savage mechanics

Personally, I don't think it's the best Ultimate but it is the most Perfect ;)
In all serious I feel like once you get through BJCC the rest is a breeze. People talk about Wormhole so much but it's super simple compared to something like 'Dive From Grace' in DSR + there's so many solo sims for it. It definitely is a fun fight. OMG Alex is just so perfect!
Crazy how well you can get PF going, I often sit on a PF group for 8 hours just to disolve after 1 hour... You got as much time in-duty in a day as I would get in an entire week.
But yeah the sims help a lot.

No way is the simulator cheating, it's a time saving device, screw spending 8-10mins everytime to practice a mech its literally the same thing without wasting time, HOWEVER, bots and real players are very different things, my biggest problem with ultimates in PF is having to trust 7 other humans, there are a lot of trolls out there that purposefully mess up to waste others time, the amount of times I see "I've got 100 totems for this" but continuously mess up to simple mechs and I've noticed they almost always turn up in "going for the clear" parties.
Anywho grats on your clear I'm currently progging this ultimate and listening to you simply commentate over footage was more helpful than actual guides in some cases well done man.
