    In fights I feel less confident, I have asked in chat that if someone knows the mechs and where to go if they would please mark themselves. It has been so helpful. There are players who really know these fights and want to lead and teach even in duty roulette. Never be afraid to ask questions. Great video again!

    • @JamieBarrington
      @JamieBarrington Před měsícem +2

      I did this in Bozja Castrum Lacus Litore recently as a newbie and the kindly person said, "No problem," when I asked if I could mark her. So I followed her all through the fights, learned a lot and then made a new friend at the end. If you see players who have done the fights a few times and seem to know what to do, there is no shame in asking for help.

    You have quickly become one of my favorite XIV-related channels. Consistently solid advice and approachable breakdown. Makes it easy to recommend your videos to friends trying to improve!
    Also, THANK YOU for bringing up mit/healing on dps roles. The amount of dps I've run into when doing savage PF that were competent at their rotation, but seemed to have an aversion to their feint/addle/etc, has driven me crazy as a SCH main.

    I have one single smile emote button on my hotbar - when it appears ready to press, I know I can move in my slidecast and not interrupt! :)
    This is good stuff - weirdly how many of these I know but when it comes to practical usage and implementation, I just end up clumsy bad lol

    Yes, please make a HUD video! Specifically because you are a controller player that talks about high end content, I would appreciate it. I am one of those you describe as "staring at their action bars." I have a 34" ultrawide, but do make it so that things are within the center third of the screen, but because you can mis-time the R2/L2 double-tap, I need to see which bar is highlighted. I'd love to watch a video where you describe why you put actions on certain bars. I know you touched on this briefly in another video, but it would be great if you went into more detail in terms of what makes putting an action on a particular bar easier/better in specific situations or during certain parts of a rotation, and what actions should have priority over others in a particular spot.

    • @99_Vit
      @99_Vit  Před měsícem +4

      I try to have it so I dont need to swap back and forth between the single and double tap bars very often. That's pretty much my only rule to it. If I have to jump back and forth for weaving different things too much it can get tiring

    I have no interest in raiding beyond Extreme - partly due to little interest in stressful gameplay and partly due to my high latency.
    And yet I watched the video anyway. Your content is incredibly informative, the vibes are chill, and I want to support that with some CZcams algorithm boosters. So here's a comment and some appreciation from a casual fan.

    What the comunity REALLY needs is someone going into detail on how Limit Break works and how it is generated. I know penta legends who have literally no idea about it and it seems to be one of the most vague mechanics in FFXIV.

    • @unixtreme
      @unixtreme Před měsícem +1

      Basically only speedrunners really know it in detail. And to be fair for everybody else it doesn't really matter that much.

    • @99_Vit
      @99_Vit  Před měsícem

      It basically just generates over time and when you take damage. You get a bigger boost to LB gain when you’re healed from “critical” hp. I don’t know the exact numbers off the top of my head, but it’s like 10% hp or so. Basically the lower your health gets the more Lb you build. Speed groups will often stand in AOEs or under mit raidwides to speed this along. Not really worth thinking about in normal scenarios though

    • @sharlayanforum
      @sharlayanforum Před měsícem

      Akh Morning has a pretty extensive guide to how LB generation is calculated and what affects it.

    to reinforce your communication point:
    communication and admitting faults not only helps relieve frustration/concern from your party, but it demonstrates that you're trying to be better, and that goes a long way in most scenarios; it's well worth any initial embarrassment you might feel, and after the first few times, the embarrassment fades altogether
    great video, and the only thing i'd (intrusively) add is: if you're new to raiding and/or you're trying to improve, pace yourself
    much like any other game or endeavor, overexertion can lead to burnout super fast, so just take it at a good pace
    raiding is what burns me out and kicks off my breaks in XIV every single time, and not because of other players, but because of my own overexertion of attention and effort. haha

    I've been raiding in FFXIV maybe a little bit longer than you and I always watch your videos just to see if I agree...
    Once again yeh everything you said is spot on particularly from a party finder perspective. I think there is quite a bit more on the mental/mindset side particularly once you get into blind prog and HC statics but that stuff is a much more convoluted and harder to explain anyway.
    I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on that if you ever did go down that route. Personally its my prefferred way to play the game but you really have to pick your group well or you're going to be miserable.
    P.S. just happy to see an FF content creator that does more than just dooming and regurgitating the same videos everyone else is doing. Keep it up

    • @99_Vit
      @99_Vit  Před měsícem +1

      Yeah, the mental side is real if you’re trying to get things done quickly and efficiently. That’s all so personal though it’s hard to get into. Really comes down to you and your group’s dynamic. I don’t do too much hardcore raiding, I’ve been midcore at best and don’t really stress that stuff. I’ll be going for clears asap in PF this upcoming savage tier and I’m sure I’ll have some more thoughts after that experience haha

    Also if ur a healer work on jealing consistency, move things around if you must and try to use all your ogcs if you need extra healing but try to get to point where you are using the same cooldowns, this makes it much easier for the other healer to adjust or even other players to adjust with mits, if you have everone adjusting the dmg starys to get spiky.
    Also dont be afraid to make mistakes,espeically joining fresh groups, as everypne will be makingistakes here not just you, but i would work on doing that phsse consistantly before joining a party thats on the next phase of that part because while people might not be expect zero mistakes up to that point they will have less patece for it, usually leaving after a few pulls of not making to that phase.

    If your info logging is not allowed under the tos for ff14 so use add-ons/plug ins at risk of account ban

  • @rashash9954
    @rashash9954 Před měsícem

    Tbh I know that a lot of people hate this, but imo a good player in a decent static will probably get 90+ parses without even stressing about it, so if you reach that level where you accumulate good logs just by playing and not stressing out about greed then you're gucci, decent logs shows that the player is decent at the game unless he's in a party with grey logs players which boosts his log.
    A lot of people hate fflogs but fflogs and xivanalysis are mandatory at improving and the second you're good at doing rotations and you understand why you press X gcd at X:XX timer then you'll have an easy way doing mechanics without having to drop gcds or rarely dropping them if forced.

    Tonight i just experienced a bunch of hieroglyphics in the chat on ff14 during a raid things like D3 and MT which i guess is main tank and alot of other codes could u do a video explaing these or direct me to another video explaining lol

    • @99_Vit
      @99_Vit  Před měsícem

      MT/OT are main and off tanks. H1/H2 are healers (typically regen is 1 and shield is 2), and then dps are either referred to as D1-4 or M1/2 for melee and R1/2 for ranged. If you know which one you are, you should know where to go based on the party’s advertised strats. We often just stand around a marker for clock spots or other positioning at the start of the fight to make this clear on NA data centers, but you can also type in chat what spot you want
