Your final thoughts at the end hit the nail on the head. ~ The people who always say "you're crazy" or "you're wasting your time & money" - Those are usually the people who have tried something, failed & given up. I never tell someone they CAN'T do something. Courage, daring and fearlessness are the result of a clear vision and an understanding of reality. ~ There is no greater reward than being able to sit back after all of this is done, take it all in & go, "Look, I did that." -

Came here to say exactly THAT!!
If I had the money, I too, would be doing this very thing, and doing it the same way - with integrity.
And that staircase rockwork is phenomenal!!!
What a joy just to look at!!
It always makes me happy to see there are still stone masters who can do this the RIGHT WAY!
My hat is off to everyone!

It makes for some pretty unique and fascinating content, just raising a new built wing of the house could never do... and it has to be JIMMY'S idea of where he wants to live in, nobody else's so if he wants to make it perfect for himself, who's got the right to say it's not right?

You always talk about what you said at the end of the video, about not letting other people’s fears become your own. I’ve done my best to keep that in mind whenever I want to do something a little unorthodox and I get pushback from people I know, whether it be family or others. I listen to well thought advice but I try to ignore the “what ifs” and “don’t be crazy” comments and do what I want if I feel strongly about it. 🙌🏻

    Jimmy,
The fact that you take the time to repair history, is worth it!
That's much better than our instant gratification, tear down build new society.
What would be cool, however, would be to make it a passive house. Heated floors, more Rockwood, hardy board siding, the works. But keep it old looking. Keep up the great work!

A couple of stone masons I know have a great rule for dry stone walling as we call it in the UK. If you pick a stone up, don’t put it down again until it’s in the wall. You can waste a lot of time picking up a stone and if it’s not right putting it back down! Use it! Also King Charles III likes to do a bit of dry walling to relax!
