Pokemon Sword and Shield was incredibly divisive among fans with many issues but one of them being a lack of Pokemon from the National Dex. When the DLC Expansion pass of Crown Tundra and Isle of Armor was announced we saw around 200 Pokemon returning to the game with a handful of new and interesting legendaries. I may have bitten off more than I can chew trying to complete TWO Pokemon DLC releases, so let's see what the world of Pokemon has in store on the Nintendo Switch.

Begin your adventure as a Pokémon Trainer by choosing one of three partner Pokémon: Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble. Then embark on a journey in the Galar region, where you’ll challenge the troublemakers of Team Yell, while unraveling the mystery behind the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta! @@MothersOfMars Except you could easily get Bulbasaur and any of the other 200+ extra pokemon without owning the DLC yourself. Got a 3DS with a Bank filled to the brim? Bring them all to Home, and then all the new compatible pokemon are let in thanks to a free update to *ALL* players, not just paying ones. Still too stingy to pay the absolute pittance Home asks of you? Get someone who doesn't have a stick up their ass to trade one to you, literally 0 cost. No DLC, no Home, no Bank, nothing. Just the base game and a single trade, now you've got your mon.
@@MothersOfMars SwSh were greatly lacking on post game content and the DLCs should have been that post content but I do have to admit the DLCs were a better idea than having to flush out another $60 for Pokemon Gun.
All of the returning Pokemon were available to all players just had to port them in if you didn't have the DLC.
The last bulbasaur is in all games. The galaxy is at peace
@@Percy0412 It was dumb you couldn't transfer any pokemon in from Home. There's very little reason to limit it to just the Galar dex.

Actually even pokemon from the Gen 3 games can be brought into Home.... as you can transfer them to the Gen 4 games Via Pal Park.
that includes the gamecube gen 3 games!
Just for like more than triple the price Pokemon Bank and Transfer were!

I am suprised you did not mention the type restriction training, the gym build up, the shiny chance increase during the adventures, and or a couple of other features that have been added into the game via DLC. Also, you do not need to purchase the DLC to transfer over the added Mons. Also Also, Fighting Zygarde is a pain in the adventures

Also, Galarian Articuno looking like they belong at an "Eyes Wide Shut party" is one hell of a thing. And I bet someone's gonna make lewds of that eventually, because there are a LOT of Pokémon lewds out there.

You can have the other 200 Pokémon if you transfer them from your old games, you don't need the DLC, I tought people knew that...
now THIS is dlc, the sheer wonder of finding crazy little things in the world, especially in the crown tundra, without being explicitly told to do so reinvokes the same feeling pokémon gave to myself and many other people many years ago
I must have then entered a diferent dimension because the dlc as far as i can tell is nothing like gen 2,3,4,5 in terms of exploration XD
You two are high if you think those 2 maps are worth half the price of the game.
@@kutami2951 the amount of content i’ve gotten from it is amazing. shiny hunting legendaries, doing max lair raids basically every day, the star tournament, completing the new pokedexes, two really great maps to explore with collectables, secrets to find, brand new pokemon to meet, i could go on. Theres a lot here

DLC instead of a 3rd version was actually a good move my Gamefreak. I enjoyed Sword & Shield, but I am also a competitive player.
The games don't look great visually and the story sucks, but I don't regret my purchase at all.
For them? Sure but for the people that want a full game or a definitive version? Hell no
@@HandheldGamer1991 That's fine. I feel like with the DLC it is the "definitive" version. Better paying $30 for the content and keeping your save rather than Paying another $60 for a 3rd version. Also I personally think Sword and Shield without the DLC is a complete game. I had a good time with it.
but again I play VGC competitive so the Dex cut and the all the competitive changes they made were great in my opinion. The single player in Pokemon was never the main draw for me.
This DLC helped get me through quarantine, it will be forever remembered!

For real tho, as someone who's played every generation of Pokémon, and has managed to collect all but 1 of the 890 PKMN, the Bank and Home apps has been a GODSEND.

I was glad they brought the Porygon line in the game. They were my personal favorite Pokémon.
Me and Porygon go waaay back since I started playing XY which was my first Pokémon game.
Great Video. I love when Pokemon get different evolutions depending on what they do/how they are trained. Hopefully we will se more in the future.

I have been wanting this video since the isle of armor came out
I made two profiles so I could fill the Pokédex easier. I got both horses 🐎 and Regis. Also, the DLC was way better than the base game.

I agree with you completely. I'm glad I waited for the DLC to come out before purchasing the main game, because it was largely the additions in the DLC that made the game feel big and involved, whereas the main story has pretty linear tunnels to follow other than the wonderful open area.
Those new transitions are sleek my man, I approve.
The audio was a bit wack tho, especially when switching to physical Jirard and voice Jirard.

There’s FOUR swords of justice pokemon. After you catch the 3 that Sonia requires, you can go on a small island next to the dynamax tree where you’ll find a set of Keldeo’s footprints. If you cook curry there, Keldeo will spawn and you can catch it.

Been thinking about getting back into Sword/Shield (after finishing a Blue Kaizo run). This is telling me that I should get the DLC's. I love the variety of Pokemon and having a way to bring them all into the modern era is a huge lure.
You mention you can get three of the swords of justice in crown tundra but you can also obtain keldeo once you have the other three

You didn't need to pay the dlc to obtain the pokemon added and the mons found in the code were some legendaries and some of the starters
He also missed the part where it all sucks and it's not worth the price of admission.
But I'm confident he wouldn't even say it if he genuinely thought that.

As a completionist like me, you should beat all the Restricted Sparrings of every type at least 5 times in a row to get the little Crown next to your time. You can find it in the dojo of the Isle of Armor.

Did you complete restricted sparring? That was the most challenging part of the isle of armor
These DLC were a blast to me, I had a great time with them. They feel like Game Freak getting a better feel for what they were doing with the base game, and they're why I'm so confident Gen 9 is going to blow people away.

One of these days I'll feel motivated enough to play the DLC, I'm still just mad they had no Legendaries to hunt for in the main game and relegated it to DLC.

Fun fact, you don’t even need to have the isle of armor and crown tundra installed as long as you have the free update and either Pokémon home or another way of getting Pokémon, e.g.… Cheating?
You can still have your Pokémon from previous generations in the game without having to step foot on any of the DLC areas
Should probably be listing the money spent for completion if you're using additional services.
