      @@TheLtrain85 That's just utter nonsense. Stop. Havlicek isn't an overall better player than Elgin Baylor. Let's talk actual greatness. Elgin Baylor is easily a top 12-15 off of talent an even impact on a game yes he didn't beat Russell lead teams but damn Havlicek? He isn't in a conversation with Kobe. Elgin Baylor by the way 27 PPG 13 RPG 4 APG one of the greatest stat lines in NBA history aside of Wilts 30/23/4. Dude said Havlicek the same guy that was drafted to a great situation. Russell would still have 11 titles without Havlicek as a teammate but Havlicek wouldn't have 8 titles without Russell as a teammate. Havlicek as far as the player (not championships) is in the KD Dirk K.Malone Robinson Barkley KG group of the top 30. Maybe 20-25. The man doesn't even have a MVP to his name. That's why I don't have Baylor higher on the list because despite being way better than Havlicek neither were able to get a MVP. I mean even Oscar Robertson did manage to get one an Pettit got 2 in the Russell/Wilt era.

Whether it be against Dallas, Spurs, Even Golden state just last year when he once again ran from the free throw line in game three. They changed the rule because of Shaq.. Ppl forget that and even had a couple terms like Hack a Shaq to find ways to stop him. What did anyone ever create to find ways to Stop Kobe?

    • @coachwane
      @coachwane Před 3 lety +4

      50/50 with Russell and Chamberlain all depends on how you evaluate and observe their careers. Wilt and Russell played the position in a complete different way. Wilt did come up small in 1968 ECF Russell definitely outplayed him. 1969 Game 7 Wilt chamberlain outplayed Russell Before getting hurt. 18 Points on 88% with a game high 25 Boards+ game high 10 Blocks vs Russell 6 points/21 boards/8Blocks on 29% ((I know he not a scorer but he had offensive game especially in game 7 but not this time). I can also go to Wilt 1965 Mathchup game 7 with the only 30-30 performance with 14 Blocks. Again it 50/50 with those two. Russell did Revolutionize The defensive end in basketball, Wilt Revolutionized Basketball rulebook (6 Rules changes that was implemented throughout all of basketball). Wilt saved the nba and made the nba a economic profit, nobody was selling out until he showed up. No 100k contracts until after Wilt showed up. Russell vs Wilt saved nba. The same way Jordan made the game global, Wilt did the same to North America!. Russell Revolutionize the way games was coached strategically. Wilt changed the way the game was played and viewed.

    To me Kobe is a bigger Allen Iverson which is still fantastic. What gets lost in the noise is in Kobe’s prime, the other two big time wings (McGrady and Pierce) put up similar numbers and you could argue more dominant as they faced double and triple teams. I could go on and on. Moses Malone is another guy lost in the sauce. For about 5 years he was the best center in the league while still basically in Kareem’s prime. (77-83)

Because they know that their target audience of ignorant NBA youngsters doesn't want to.hear or be told the honest truth about how great some slow goofy looking white boy was from the 80's... IN NO WAY would they EVER accept Bird being a Top 5 player (even though it's undeniable).
      Stephen A and Max Kellerman both ADMITTED THIS when last talking about TOP players... THEIR audience DOES NOT want to hear ANYMORE about Larry Bird OR Hakeem (which surprised me even more!) LOL! Even mentioning Bird's name on First Take, Undisputed or Cowerd's AWFUL show is now considered a dirty word. The producers will edit it right out. It's a fineable offense!

However, you said Lebron never had to face tough teams to win championships like Bird did? What about the Warriors? Both with KD and without. What about Duncan's Spurs? Both those teams are all time great teams and account for 7 of Lebron's 9 finals matchups. There were other tough teams that won championships but imo arent all time great teams that Lebron had to face in the playoffs as well. The Pistons team that stopped Shaq and Kobes 4 peat, the Celtics big 3 plus Rondo. Thens there's the Thunder with KD, Russ, Harden, and Ibaka who didn't win a ring but only because Lebron beat them.

      Shaq got 3 Finals MVP, Kobe got 2. He also never missed the playoffs, even when he was old & fat, unlike Kobe. Longevity would be a factor if their prime was even close. Shaq got to the Finals in every team he was on in his prime (Orlando 95, Lakers & Miami champions).

    I put Shaq over Kobe, neither are top 5 IMO but both top 10 for sure, LeBron also in the lower half of the top 10 IMO... it's crazy how LeBron fans will lose their minds if you rate Kobe over LeBron.

    If we go by rings being a leader or 1 or maybe... 2 opt... not a roll player...
    1) Russell 11 rings
    2) Jordan 6 rings
    3) Kareem 6 rings
    4) Magic 5 rings
    5) Kobe 5 rings
    6) Ducan 5 rings
    7) Shaq 4 rings
    8) Lebron 3 rings
    9) Bird 3 rings
    10) Wilt 2 rings
    Then my plus 11 would be The Dream! with 2 rings... and this is Fact Not Fiction! because this is how many rings..
    they have, ending their career, some being a one time the first opt...then later on in their career,,,became the 2... or A-b with another superstar...or Allstar...
    let's not forget...your not a bum!
    IF YOU MAKE THE TOP 10 TO TOP 20 LISTS OK!

Anyone who disagrees with your list you think it's flawed but it's just your opinion at the end of the day. You said that you need more then one great player to win multiple championships. What about Hakeem's back to back in the mid 90's. My b-ball knowledge isn't as vast as yours, but looking at the Rocket's 1993/94 & 94/95 roster, Hakeem would be the only player who would be a top 30 player.

      Clyde Drexler ,who would have been a certified hofer without adding his tenure with the rockets ,top 10 all time nba shooting guard without his time with rockets considered . Drexlers time with the rockets completed his career resume , it didn't make him a hofer .He had already appeared in two nba finals before his finals appearance at Houston . His impact was as significant as many all time top 30 players, the difference between Clyde Drexler and several all time top 30 players is interchangeable . The rockets second Championship team weren't going to capture a second championship ,let alone get to the finals without adding Drexler and dismissing Otis Thorpe who's impact wasn't effecient enough to help assist Hakeem enough ,Drexlers impact was what that second rockets team desperately needed .

      Russell couldn't score and played on a team with 7 Hof. LeBron isn't a shell of himself in the finals, just a final which was horrendous but every finals after he has been incredible and his numbers have been insane, especially the last 3. Wilt should be higher, he was the most dominant player ever at least statistically, he led the league in assists as a center.

    • @AJSillman96
      @AJSillman96 Před 6 lety

      Yes i agree Lebron has had great moments in finals, but they're not moments that snatch the chip from the other team because he wasn't cut out do do that which is okay, we have to evaluate 3-5 which just isn't good enough compared to his own incredible standards

    • @infiniteimprovement
      @infiniteimprovement Před 6 lety

      I disagree, 2016 he put on probably the best finals performance since one of Jordan's. Maybe better, and he didn't start out great for the first few games but picked it up when it "mattered most" isn't that what "clutch" is? 2013 in game 6 &7 which were elimination games he ended closed them out with 32, and 37 points respectively. LeBron may not have had that innate killer but he definitely developed it. 2011 will always be a blemish on his legacy, as it should be, but considering what was "allegedly" going on in his personal life, and all the finals performances he's had after I would say that's the exception not the rule.

    • @AJSillman96
      @AJSillman96 Před 6 lety

      look, theres no need for feelings in a mature debate. The facts are Lebron could very easily be 1-7 but you could never make an argument the ones he's lost could've been W's. The point is, compared to his unbelievable talents and greatness 3-5 is very much below average. Its fax, this is why in terms of greatness he's not top 5.
