Just earned a new subscriber with this video, I’m getting ready to do this on my 5.3 ls been looking for a video to do just this, thank you man!
You must be a good God fearing man to try to start a motor on a Pittsburgh engine stand!! I wouldn't even work on one on those!
Hahah oh cmonnnn. They are mint!
@@derekfelber743 watch the video. That thing was rocking and rolling.
thank you so much info .. god blees you guys
No problem!
That was very interesting and learned with you on what was needed….. I’m glade you showed as you tried to get it to actually run also your end as you showed the fuel system was helpful…..thx
Great video very helpful 👍💯
This was cool to see come to life… outside of a car! Nice job. I would’ve been having way too much fun yankin the throttle shooting flames.
It was a hoot let me tell you! I started it probably 4 or 5 times before i took it all apart and put it away. It was an adrenaline rush for sure! We will do it with the engine we choose for your LS swap so you can feel the excitement!
thanks for the video. i just bought a junk yard motor was wondering if i could start it outside of the truck and i came across this video so thanks
New subscriber bro🔥🔥🔥
🎉🎉🎉 congrats
Best part was waking up the girlfriend. "Whoops" LOL 😂
Pretty cool man. I’ll be trying the same thing hopefully the first part of June.
Heck yea! Its fun! If you have questions reach out!
@@derekfelber743 I appreciate it. I might be needing some help. LQ4 with stage 3 cam, sheet metal intake, headers with an ecu from eBay (locked) and new hp tuners I’m buying in 2 weeks. The car is a 1995 Trans Am that was an LT1 and is now going to be LQ4. I have been watching hp tuner videos for weeks so I’m feeling ready. We’ll see.
@@vettster89 sounds like it will be a fun car!
Do you know how many credits I will need to tune?
@@vettster89 most gm pcm’s are 2 gm credits. Some newer stuff takes more. So depends on the pcm you are using
I wish you would’ve showed the wires that you used to lay out the ECM and what wire did you use from the ECM to power it up?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bad ass
Gotta do whatcha gotta do
Hell yea!
It was so much fun, hearin that thing fire up was a big adrenaline rush!
Where is wires for pcm?
What kind of due pump you would use for a 5.3 in a gbody
What is the setup? Na? Boosted?? That will help determine a size.
100% wouldve ran better with the fpr vacuum line on and intake air temp it doesnt know air density then
How can you look at that and say the bearings aren't smoke
Because they weren’t lol
where do u buy these engines from?
I get the majority of them from a few local junkyards in the Appleton WI area
I tried to holler at you about the gasket, you just didn’t wanna listen so I said ight den
My gold fish brain forgot about it 😂🤷🏻♂️
PCM have any anti theft issues for crank up the motor ?
Yea they have something called “vats” vehicle anti theft system it was disabled on this pcm when it was put in my Camaro a long time ago
@@derekfelber743can you disable the vats with the hp tuners?
@@bobberbuilder6122 yes, this pcm had been unlocked and vats disabled from a previous application that it was in
@@derekfelber743 i have a trailblazer with the 5.3 i was kicking around swapping in a lq9 from a escalade my main concern was wanting to run the escalade pcm but have no way to disable the vats i actually thought maybe swapping the bcm and ignition from the escalade with the thoughts that the pcm would recognize the pcm not sure if that would work or not
@@bobberbuilder6122 as long as the trailblazer is a 24x truck just have the stock pcm recalibrated for the lq9
Isn't Kpa a measure of pressure?
Yes it is
@@derekfelber743 So what did you mean at 17:38 when you said 36 pounds per hour? Is pressure per hour a thing?
@@robertbrandywine the way the pcm has it setup you input the injector lbs per hour based on the intake manifold kpa. As the vacuum or boost in the manifold changes the flow rate of the injectors will change with it. Lbs per hour is a common way companies measure injector flow in the industry. Also used is cc’s
Why did u change ur intake ?
The original intake that came on this engine has a large hole on the passenger side of intake behind the throttle boy for the egr. I had nothing to plug it so i swapped the intake
@@derekfelber743 so you don’t need egr to run ur engine is I’m doing ls swap with stand line harness?
@@TheSonicusa no its not needed for the engine to run. Egr is for emissions. I think after 2001 they stopped using the egr on the ls engines
@@derekfelber743 thanks bud ..
That’s awesome but I don’t think is easy for an inexperienced person.
Yea maybe not, but its definitely possible!
Amazing... job well done
It was alot of fun!
