I have been thinking a lot about solar, had some companies come to my house two years ago and every company said I was not using enough energy to make it worthwhile (our bills are around 3500 Baht). Apart from the money, you talk about being good for the environment. What good is it, if to produce your solar panel and all the equipment and later, the disposal of all goods, are a burden for the environment? I think that the environment can benefit more from just paying your bills for an electric company.
I don’t normally comment on videos . But this one I just have too . You will never save 1 baht sorry . You’ve just paid over 5,000 baht which will take over 3 years to pay back in order to save a small 180 baht per month ? Two beers at your local bar or a trip to 7 eleven . You’ll never ever notice that you’ve saved 180 baht , but you’ll notice spending 5,000 baht to pay for it . Plus you’ll be buying another cheap Chinese converter at 2,500 baht before those 3 years are up . So much effort for absolutely nothing , sorry to say . Hey you’re a nice guy , and you’re trying , I give you credit for that . I appreciate your video because it’s definitely made be see that it’s a big waste of time . Good luck in the dream land , I’m here too loving it 🙏🏼
Your correct about the saving, Our Electric is cheap anyway but I like to Play, I give it a try but failed I still believe in Solar so will be doing something else next year. Thanks for taking time to comment.
If 5,000 baht was invested and 10,800 baht is to be returned over 5 years, the annualized ROI is ~16%. Even if you assume the inverter shits the bed at 3 years, the annualized ROI is still ~9%. Personally I don't think the inverter will fail. You never know. No risk, no reward. Free beer after month 27.
Hi Bruce, thanks for the comment, we are the same our Electric bill is 600 to 800 Baht per month I was just playing but I love Solar. Thanks for watching.
@@RetiredandLivingthedream 600bath a month?! Thats some real thai style living so no wonder it wont make financial sense. Usually i rack up 10 times that amount so for me it makes more sense with solar.
Hi. Very good information you put up in your video. I am also living in Thailand and been looking for information on how to get started installing solar panels in our home by myself. I hope you have a follow-up video about how your solar panel and inverter is doing after a while. Thanks
Hi Bobby, There is an English Guy that is quite well respected have a look at Bryan's Thailand he does Solar also and has contacts might we worth a try. I did the Solar myself but between the Gardener breaking the panel and the Gridtie inverter stop working I stopped for a while. Hope this helps, thank's for watching.
