hi les, i asked about the 185 day rule and they replied with this email :( Dear Mr Forder, Thank you for your email dated 02 September 2024. Your pension would be uprated for the time you spent in the United Kingdom. It would not stay at the higher rate when you retuned to a frozen rate country. It would go back to what it was when you left the country.

Why would anyone marry a Thai? Get real! You can tell when a Thai woman is lying...her lips are moving. Of course there are successful farang / Thai marriages the the odds are greatly against it.

Hi Les - just came across your channel and watched this and a couple of your other vlogs. Could not agree more with your sentiments - you are down to earth and honest, no in your face camera shots, no "look at me" reports. The UK is quickly going down the pan and has been for years and it is only going to get worse for a lot of pensioners now that Starmer has cut WFA - heartless. I'm ex-military so have travelled to many countries around the world and have always settled quickly and enjoyed the experience; and I also enjoy a full military pension so I have that security, in 5 years I will have another pension, and 2 years after that my state pension (if there is such a thing by then!) so I will have a good level of income each month. I have looked at retiring away from the UK for a long time now and the French Alps would always be my number 1 place - but I do not have that kind of lottery money!! So, unless I win the lottery, Thailand would be my country of choice - however, I have only visited there vicariously via you tube and a work colleague who has visited many times. I plan to change that next year and spend nearly a month in Thailand and use it as a recce / holiday; I cannot spend any more time there at the same time as I am still full time working! Selling up the house, car, furniture etc would be a tough call (at the moment) but that sentiment could well change once the Labour government get their greedy paws on more of my hard earned cash and spread more misery throughout the UK. You've got another subscriber now and I look forward to watching your retirement vlogs!

great video les i came back from thailand about 8 weeks ago must have had 1 week of good weather since ive been back in uk u have to go aboard now because our summers are awful thats why these solar power is a waste of time wind yes but solar power no way no in our summers .im hoping to leave the uk in the next few years to when have the money but not thailand phililppines save journey home .

I'm starting a 6 week shut down working nights as off Monday, so I'll hopefully save enough to visit Thailand and The Philippines for two weeks a piece. I'll then decide which I'd prefer to retire to.

All what you need is a yearly extension once you arrive in Thailand. Also don't leave Thailand without a re-entry permit.
