You can not convince me that Pokemon saw QR codes being used in Yo-Kai Watch 1, 2, Busters, and maybe 3 and thought "Yoink!". Would be funnier if a Yoink or Gimme was literally inspiriting the entire office that day lol
Honestly, I'm too floored by the jarring shift in tone the trailer has. Like, "Oh, here's this bright and colorful world full of magical creatures and realistic guns and said magical creatures are sweatshop workers making said realistic guns!"
Pokemon technically had dark elements like that too such as guns in the anime and Team Rocket's experiments and poaching and the like. It's just Pokemon never actually addressed things like that while it looks as though PalWorld will.
@@DrCoeloCephalo I mean, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and hope that it'll be less jarring in the full release. I mean, Pokémon's had organized crime plot points and Yo-kai Watch brought up death and the afterlife and those were still tonally in place, I think, so who knows? Maybe it'll be good.
@@DrCoeloCephalo a lot of the weirdest stuff from the first season of the show was because of the rider trying to take it in a completely different direction. There was supposed to be a Pokemon versus human War that was slowly being built up but for obvious reasons Nintendo vetoed that idea
It's more that they only dud all these shallow attempt at Yo-Kai Watch features immediately after rushing Sun and Moon out so we got no Z version after Pokemon ORAS got outsold by Yo-Kai Watch 2 in Japan.
Okay, some of the DQ ones are a bit of a stretch (mainly Geodude/Magmalice). Never noticed how similar Dragonite is to a Great Dragon, though. Although that's more of a same design origin, imo. There's definitely some more stretches, but there are some that are very true. Still, yeah lol Palworld does NOT deserve the backslash. By the logic being used against it, any Pokémon fanwork should be receiving the same treatment. It's disguising the fact they don't want good competition as "defending" the IP. The fact people said DQM "copied" Pokémon Infinite Fusion during the trailer gave me an infinite amount of unbridled anger. Pokémon kids are so annoying.
"Stretch", nothing. Tons of these follow the exact same gameplay so it goes beyond shallow appearances like Platypunk's main attack being a multihit physical one like how Psyduck gets Fury Swipes or Spiked Hare boosting its damage output through Psyche Up while Nidoran gets Focus Energy, Bludgerigar learning accuracy debuff skills while Pidgey and Pidgeotto get Sand Attack so just saying "they look different" like you can just as easily say with Palworld, will not take away the fact of their similar gameplay. Drag-goof is also a dragon but still looks different from Dragonite so it really has nothing to do with design origin. Also Great Dragon and Dragonitd also have similar gameplay.
