He wasn't exactly a nice person either... he went around blackmailing & manipulating . I know by him coming clean to Annette & with his journal, that he's redeemed himself and it's his salvation .But Sebastian was still as nasty as Kathryn , he treated people like pawns , until he fell in love with Annette ..then he grew a conscience & he felt remorse . Kathryn is seen as the only villain ..when they were both as bad , yes she's the instigator/puppet master .. but he went along with the game , It's only when he realised she was just using & manipulating him for her own enjoyment .. that he didn't like it . But it's still clear Kathryn has no remorse I guess ,and Sebastian has had his final laugh.

I’d argue the worse betrayal in Love, Simon is all of Simon’s friends abandoning him like that after the whole reveal. Yeah, I know what he did wasn’t good, but can you blame someone in a situation like his, where he’s threatened with being outed? And they can’t push that aside to be with him in his time of need? I don’t remember that being in the book. Also… the film has him forgive them? That’s a giant black mark on an otherwise great film.

I coudn't help but feel bad for Simon, but few have said they would tell him "Seems like classic Martin, but you also did this to yourself Simon. You can still make this right. Just talk to your friends, I'm sure they'll understand". Whats also a betrayal is that Simon's friends abandoned him when he needed them the most, and they did nothing when Simon was openly mocked in the cafeteria that day. Some friends they are. Yeah Simon manipulating them was wrong, but he still needed them

    • @soloragoldsun2163

It was MUCH better in the book. Abby is mad when she learns about the manipulation, but it was framed as "I'm pissed and I need some time to myself." and they were cool after that, because she knew that Simon was also in a bad position. Leah was never in love with Simon. She was just dealing with feeling like an outsider in her own friend group and was mostly lashing out due to her own anxiety. Again, it's framed as a misunderstanding, and they make up quickly. Hell, just after Simon is outed, Nick and Abby immediately take him to a gay bar to try and cheer him up!

They should’ve included Al’s betrayal in Divergent. He was a good friend to Tris & the rest of his fellow transfers, but seeing how good Tris is doing in Dauntless initiation following by her rejection to his affections his desperation fell prey to joining Peter to scare, nearly killed, & assaulting Tris in the dauntless chasm.😔
There’s also Caleb’s betrayal in Insurgent who aligned himself with Jeanine in hunting divergents & participating in his sister’s torture. Although this is mainly due to blind obedience to a “just cause” that Jeanine fed lies about, it still hurt seeing that the person who you love in your family backstabbed you.
Then let’s not forget Teresa’s betrayal. In Maze Runner. Like Caleb she thought by rejoining WCKD in their gruesome attempts to find a cure for the disease would be worth the sacrifices of innocent civilians. Though she would redeem herself herself in the end, the betrayal still hurt Thomas & friends.
Then there’s Edmund Pevensie, as a said before nothing is worse than being betrayed by your own family & Edmund’s was utterly painful. To be fair, Edmund was only a child & never intentionally wanted to betray his siblings. He simply wanted to be respected & fell prey to the white witch’s beauty, façade kindly nature, her false promises, & sweet treats. Unintentional or not, Edmund’s betrayal brought grave actions with nearly condemning himself & his siblings to death, almost putting an end to Narnia, & petrifying Mr. Tumnus, the Fox, & anyone who stood against the witch. He was forgiven & saved by Aslan, but Edmund’s betrayal would forever follow him.

10 things I hate about you: I don't see Patrick accepting some idiots money for pointing out the most interesting girl in school. Chances are he would have tried to get to know Kat with or without the others running interference
The only difference is he never would have sang "Can't take my eyes off of you" and really that scene makes the whole movie

The Sam was horrible but I don't consider it a betrayal because the girls nor her step sisters were her friends or people she trusted. It was more bullying than betrayal. Betrayal is more done by someone whose a friend, trust or in Bring it on Look up to.
The 13 going on 30 was a good self betrayal. Betrayal would be another name for Cruel intention

The Perks of Being A Wallflower is my favorite movie along with Harry Potter. I’ve watched it so many times, but I don’t think him kissing Sam was a shocking or horrible betrayal. He kissed who he thought was the prettiest girl in the room. Usually I would feel bad, but Mary was too much. No one deserves to have that happen to them, it’s just she was so wrapped up in being someone’s girlfriend that she was blind to the fact that they no chemistry and that Charlie was the nice guy who didn’t want to hurt her feelings. It wasn’t okay what he did, but Mary didn’t treat Charlie like they were equal she treated like a playground relationship where the guy is quiet and can’t get a word in. Sam’s and Charlie relationship was a real connection. The kiss was more awkward than sad or a betrayal feeling.

    Shocking teen betrayals
The moment where Sam gets publicity humiliated by everyone at the pep rally always makes me cry really breaks my heart seeing how hurt she was and the fact that Austin was trying to fake her hurt by just sitting their in silence. That was messed up. No one should protect their reputation for the sake of someone else getting hurt.
Anther Cinderella Story-When Britt, Bree and Natalia publicly humiliated Mary in front of the school by playing that video of Mary when she was younger/ Natalia sneaking into Joey Parker’s house I thought that was messed up that really ruined Mary emotionally.
Mean Girls 2 -When Abby finds out the truth that her dad was paying Jo pretending to be friends with her.
The Duff- Bianca finding out everyone claiming she was the DUFF
Aquamarine- when Cecilia was trying to get a boy to throw Claire in the pool when Claire was ready scared. It was a good thing that Raymond stepped in and told Cecilia off.
Crazy Rich Asians- Nick Young’s mom completely humiliated Rachel Chu good thing Rachel had Peik Lin Goh her best friend during that time.

To be honest, neither Zack nor Patrick should have been given second chances. Making a bet to date the least popular student in the school is toxic, because that means you're just seeking validation. I was somewhat of an outcast in high school, and if I found out that a girl made a bet to take me out on a date, I would not want anything to do with her. I don't care if those guys developed feelings towards the main girls. The fact that they made a bet to begin with should have got them slapped by the main girls and shunned by other students. Pretty sure that's what would happen in the real world.
I read the novel that POBAW was based off of, and even I felt the sting of that betrayal. Worst part was that Charlie ended the book with neither of them. Which may have been for the best, but I still can't forgive him for that decision.

I think the betrayal should have been Austin, she trusted him, and he went all out for her to reveal herself and assured her he'd be there, then when that happened he turned his head in shame and avoided her. He knew she had no one, what the stepsisters did was proof, and he let her go through that alone.
