There are gazillions of other cartoon shows that breezed in and out - during the 70s, 80s, 90s.... All those could be entered into a rotation and provide a lot of content. Not to mention all the quasi-anime shows like Yugioh. Always wondered why those weren't being re-run on a "cartoon network", as it were....
So does Boomerang no longer do this?
@@DeathReviews I often wondered about that, since the Greedy & Stupid corporate owners of WBD didn’t realize how big of a Gold Mine they were on, and how they just allowed other companies to take over. Heck, even Tubi shows classic cartoons that you don’t see anymore. This is why those Senseless Business 🐷🐷🐷 are likely facing Bankruptcy in the near future.
@@DeathReviews Idk what is going on with Boomerang, and what is the deal with some of the shows they show, since some shows come & go, and some get lost in the shuffle with the rest of the archives. Personally, I think WBD doesn’t even know what they’re doing, and it’s been like this for the last 10-15 years. If they really wanted to make a profit with Classic Cartoons, then show them on Boomerang. At least make Cartoon Network more about Cartoons, and maybe try to branch off Adult Swim as its own channel, which would include Toonami, but of course they’d probably have to call it something else instead of Adult Swim.

No offense but I think you're just saying this kind of stuff because you'd think people like me shouldn't deserve to be "real" Cartoon Network fans at all just because I've been enjoying Adult Swim and Toonami content alot more after moving on from all that Looney Tunes and Hanna Barbera nonsense no thanks to the Velma incident lol.
@@kinnikuman-devilman_fan_2002 Not at all - why should it have to be 'either-or', with one not being able to exist at all, save at the expense of the other? This channel seems to be moving to fill a void that CN has moved away from. If they can make it work, good for them.
Finally, a cartoon network that ACTUALLY has cartoons in it. You've brought us great joy 😊

I've wanted this since CN stopped showing most of the classics around 20 years ago. Or since Boomerang de-evolved. This looks fantastic and has so much potential for growth.
Meh, I was already fine with the Cartoon Network and Kids WB! shows I grew up with from the 90's and 2000's anyway, so why should I care if CN stopped showing classics? ._.
This is why I was always more of a Toonami and Adult Swim person, because if I were you classic elitists? I should see a doctor for all that junk lol.
Besides, I probably would've appreciated the classics if oh I don't know...
Maybe they'd stop letting their fanbases always patronize me for having different favorites that differ from them for once?? that would be great if they did.

As a child I grew up watching a lot of cartoons from the 60's all the way up to the 80's, and I was born in 1990. This channel is what Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon used to be about; CARTOONS and MORE CARTOONS. On my day off I'm going to get up early, pour myself a big bowl of cereal with a piece of toast and just watch cartoons all day long.
Glad you can get this with antenna, and everyone can get them, this is gonna be the event of a generation!
The channel won't be available in Boston or Providence sadly

@@jamesherder5757 BOTP/G-Force/etc.'s copyright seems like it would be a legal nightmare with a ton of hurdles. I'm not 100% on who owns Star Blazers though. Last time it aired was on SyFy in the 2010's, so it might have a decent chance, compared to other series that aired alongside it.
It'll be nice to see cartoons from my childhood. Especially since Cartoon Network doesn't care about the classics anymore...

Our entire family is excited about this Awesome channel. It’s going to be so much fun showing our Grand Daughter our favorite cartoons from the 60’s & 70’s. We used to enjoy Toon in with me, we started watching it on day 1 but unfortunately it started having way too many skits & commercials and not enough cartoons. Thank you for making MeTv Toons 👍🏼👍🏼. Thank you! thank you! thank you! so much METV TOONS for bringing back all of my good old cartoons I grew up on as a child, now all you have to do now is make a new channel for people to scan to bring back all of our good old sitcoms we grew up on like punky Brewster, family matters, perfect strangers, Mr Ed, please don't eat the daisy, and 10,000 more of all-time sitcoms

Not only am I excited for this on the daily, but having classic cartoons back in my life on a Saturday morning is going to be even more special.

I'd want Toon Disney to come back. Though I wish it would've come back a few years ago as a channel separate from Disney XD.
I'm so excited that this is happening! It'll be a brand new Boomerang for all of us with a variety of shows that they have, and it'll be 2 Stupid Dogs and Super Secret Secret Squirrel's return to TV after 10 years! Bob Bergen's voice during the bumpers and promos will be just as fitting as Jeff Bergman's was on classic Boomerang, and I heard that WB might be restoring all of their programs in full HD, which is a big surprise for us all! I love all of the bumpers and promos' designs and effects they have! I'm ready to watch MeTV Toons when it launches in a couple more weeks! 😉

The FLOOD of my childhood SATURDAY mornings memories have been unlocked! My youngest grandson LOVES old school draw cartoons. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

@@ChargerBullet My bad you were right, it was the Mr. T cartoon, not The A-Team. I hadn't seen it in so long that I remembered it being A-Team, but it was actually a Mr. T branded cartoon that had nothing to do with The A-Team. That's why I want them to play it on here, so I can see it.
@@PredatorKingdom There should have been an A-Team cartoon. I know they put out a Dukes of Hazzard cartoon. And Rambo, Karate Kid, Teen Wolf among others.
@@ChargerBullet I agree, I'm surprised they never did one, as popular as the live action series was with children in that era. Yeah, they had a lot of cartoons based on movies and TV shows back in the 80s.

I love it. MeTV literally looked at Cartoon Network and said, "Fine. I'll do your job for you." A lot of these cartoons are ones I've only heard of in passing. I heard that Secret Saturdays had a little Johnny Quest inspiration in there so that'll be exciting, and I'll finally have Scooby Doo back again.
But really, it'll just be nice to have something to watch again. There's been so little to watch these last few months, these may be old cartoons but for me they're going to be new and I can't wait to discover them for myself.

I can't wait to watch the cartoons that I grew up watching as a kid. But there are some others that would be good to see on the list: Hong Kong Phooey, Heckle and Jeckle, Tales from the Crypt keeper, Turbo Teen, Snorks, Silver Hawks, Pac-Man, Super Friends, The Jackson 5, Fat albert and many more.
I’m am definitely ready to see MeTV Toons on Fios (my TV provider)!

I hope this explodes in popularity so it gives Cartoon Network a kick in the ass to start improving their lineup. CN has basically dominated this niche market, uncontested, for 30+ years. As a result, they stagnated hard since the mid 2010's.
I haven't watched Cartoon Network in ages (haven't had regular access to conventional television in a long time due to various reasons), but whenever I do take a peek at its lineup on the TV guide, it seems like all they're ever doing is running marathons of maybe two or three shows, and that's it.
So very excited for MeTV Toons in June!
My parents grew up with these shows! They are gonna be so happy that they will get to rewatch their childhood shows again! 😄

I saw the listing for the channel, can't remember all the shows it is going to have but the Beetlejuice cartoon is going to be on it.
I sure hope they add The Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog, SatAM Sonic The Hedgehog, Mega Man, and Sonic Underground.

Hey MeTV Toons, any chance you might play old commercials too during your ad bumps? That would be hilarious and spectacular to see commercials from the era that these cartoons played in. I would feel like I was 6 years old again coming home from school to watch TV all over again.
I doubt they could do that for all the commercials, because then the channel wouldn't be very profitable when it comes to sponsorships. But it would be really cool to maybe sneak in one commercial of the appropriate era per break. Maybe with a small disclaimer on the screen stating that the commercial you're seeing is outdated, and may contain information that is no longer valid.
You are missing 2 important critical cartoons..the superfriends and the pink panther. Hope you pick those up soon

Heh, I remember being really sad when the original MeTV in Chicago (back when it was exclusive to Chicago) dropped Underdog, Rocky & Bullwinkle, and Tennessee Tuxedo. Now there's a new MeTV channel coming soon that will have two of those shows and then some!
This is the best thing thats happened to TV since ive been alive. Thank you for doing this for us. I live in an extremely rural area and me and my daughter watch Sunday night cartoons like clockwork. Now we can tune in whenever. And Ghostbusters!! Our fave is Tom and Jerry with the baby duck. You guys are amazing!! Thank you again!

I’m so glad METV+ is expanding their classic cartoons to this new channel. For the past couple of years, it’s been my favorite hour of entertainment before bedtime.
They're even going to have the two animated ALF shows.
And no, Boomerang will be here to STAY. A majority of the HB shows, will of course, be concurrently running on Boomerang, and I don't see why it would ever die anytime soon. It'd be nice having both an OTA AND cable classics network!
I really hope Spectrum cable will add Metv Toons. 🙏
Please let MeTV Toons be a DirecTV channel soon for us who uses DirecTV and likes classic shows and late 70s - mid 90s commercials. I don't use any other way to watch shows/commercials than DirecTV and CZcams but I like classics and there's lots of classics 'including classics y'all dont show' that should be on DirecTV and Boomerang TV channel from Cartoon Network don't show lots of good classic shows or any late 70s - mid 90s commercials 'If ya not a DirecTV channel please don't make Boomerang TV channel take away any classics because since it shows classics and I use DirecTV its my fave channel even if it shows stuff I don't like from after the 90s'.

I wasn't able to watch MeTV because it was not available on Dish TV anymore not too long ago. I hope that they air the channel back soon.

I'm total stiches, because I grew up with all these classic toons...... Love it and super excited, briing it and that's how cartoons should be, bring on alot more classic like this from Superfriends, Thundar the Barbian, Transformers, Thundercats, G.I Joe, Voltron, Jem and the holgrams
@GuillermoBasaca Earlier this month, Thundarr the Barbarian was added to Boomerang's schedule, on late Friday night/early Saturday morning, at 4:00 AM and 4:30 AM.

@quentinmitchell4568 Right now Boomerang is showing Tom & Jerry Kids, The Flintstone Kids, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, The New Scooby Doo Movies (on Saturday and Sunday) and Yo, Yogi!. And until recently Boomerang was showing The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries, Taz-Mania and Laff-A-Lympics, but they all disappeared from Boomerang's schedule after the new programming director left.

I hope they'll also add Saturday Supercade, The Super Mario Bros Super Show, Captain N: The Game Master, The Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Mario World.

Being born a Gen Z myself, I actually saw a few cartoons from the golden age. Betty Boop has to be my favorite one. I'm really excited for MeTV Toons! I hope it's fun!
