9:25 one of the best parts of early Disney cartoons as a kid was watching the characters do chores in such an aesthetically pleasing way, snow white, Cinderella, sleeping beauty. The songs while doing chores were iconic and in a way encouraged me as a kid to try out chores to see if I get that perfectly made bed, shiny floors, dancing broomstick, or baking cakes. Fun times, now Disney thinks chores are beneath these characters? Are there shows even for kids anymore?

That's true. Singing while doing chores like Disney princesses has helped me my whole life. I hate house chores, but they become bearable because I can sing and dance through them. In the end for me, it's not about avoiding doing things that's annoying/beneath you, it's about building the strength and patience to went through it. Nowadays the kids are taught to be so entitled and avoid the responsibilities like a boss. Let the dwarves and animals do allthe works! Huh.

I'm 68 years old, and (sadly) I've grown to HATE Disney. This crappy film will change nothing. I've never heard of Rachel Zegler, but I promise you that any film she makes in the future will be ignored by me and my family.
I'm only 33, but I've grown up watching the Disney films since I was a kid. Some remakes have done well, as they've been a bit of a change while still respecting the original and doing a bit new("Maleficent", "Jungle Book"), while others are garbage, not necessary and ugly to the point of being pointless and insulting to the original("live action"Lion King, "Aladdin", etc;)
I hope this movie flops and Disney starts making new movies rather than retreading the same garbage so they don't have to be creative. Or returns to its 2D roots.
I'm 18, and grew up watching Disney and this is just really sad to see as someone who wanted to work there one day

The sad part is Gal is such a good casting as the Evil Queen. She’s beautiful, and can really bring out the “evil” aspect of characters (she’s a talented actress). The cgi looks pretty cool and immersive,I love this aesthetic. It’s truly too bad I won’t be watching it because Rachel makes a HORRIBLE Snow White. Snow is pretty in a sweet,innocent way, and her genuine kindness and will to keep going in life is admirable. Also,her name is LITERALLY Snow White and the story is reliant on her appearance in some way, and I personally am fond of the classic story. No problem with her race,I’m Latina too, but I really wanted an accurate portrayal☹️. She can’t embody the inner beauty of the character with her bad rep. Very disappointed.

@@P-IN-JP She is a talented actress but go see the latest movies she's been in... all of them were absolute disasters in terms of terrible directors and horrible executions of the scenario... the only movie I remember her being in that was actually a GOOD MOVIE (apart from actors) was the first Wonder Woman... and she was fantastic in that along with Chris Pine (who I didn't hate in that one which was impressive since I always found him unbearably dull and cheesy as an actor)
Think of it this way... a movie cast is like a sports team... if the team tactics (directing, screenplay, writing of the scenario etc) is dogshit then all the players (actors) will look dogshit as well...
I'm not saying Gal Gadot should win an oscar or anything but she's not a bad actress by any means... she's just had bad career decisions in terms of the projects she's been in lately... think about Ryan Reynolds... until he played Deadpool everyone hated his fucking guts and thought he was completely talentless... think about Robert Downey Junior... up until he started playing in the Marvel Universe as Iron man the thing he was most known for was really really trying to go to jail with his many counts of illegal carrying of a firearm and people thought he was just a decent actor...
Every good actor needs a good chance to show what they can do... the actors that can show incredible skill and talent within a horrible movie are incredibly few and only the top top top tier ones... the only recent one I can think is Adam Driver as Kylo Ren... as the movies were absolute trash but even in that the man was acting his ass off and he and Oscar Isaac were trying so hard to save that unredeemable piece of garbage of a trilogy...

In the life action movie Cinderella, every characters has depth and a background story; the mother, the prince, the step mother, even why Cinderella never leaves her home despite the abuse.They did the movie well by introducing the prince way before they even met at the castle. Cinderella action movie addressed what’s lacking but still maintained the integrity of the original movie. That’s what makes you appreciate the ‘live’ even more because it’s closer to what actual happens in reality, without taking away the magical part.

Disagree. I think Gal Gadot was perfectly cast as the evil queen, because she's truly beautiful in a large presence kind of way (queenly). They needed someone very pale, beautiful in a young/innocent way, for Snow White. I think they would've done much better with someone like Saoirse Ronan, even if they had to dye her hair. Not to mention that Ronan is a superb actor.

Here's an idea for the modern crowd: Rewrite the movie so Snow White is the bad guy and we all simp for our one true Queen, Gal Gadot.
Snow White is a spoiled brat who runs away after her dad passes and her stepmother starts setting boundaries and limits. Gal Gadot spends most of the movie trying to repair their relationship, and Snow White schemes to have her "removed". Gal Gadot finally catches up to her in an orchard and tries to share an apple as a bonding or mother/daughter moment, and Snow White lies that it's poisoned.
And then we all woke up

I watched all the Disney originals when I was a child in the 70s. I now have a 7 yr old granddaughter, and I'm heartbroken that she has to watch this woke garbage, Disney is now making absolutely destroying the classics. They need to make new movies and call them something else.

So, Disney will cast based on color when the character in question is depicted as a person of color, but when the character is depicted as white/European/German in the original work, now they cast based on behavior/content of character. People would lose their mind if they made a movie about MLK and made him half Japanese. I'm sure it will be far better than this garbage, but I feel DW version also seems doubtful. Not in terms of narrative, but quality. From what little I could see from their teaser, the squirrel looks 100% real. Her makeup and constume, perfect. But hair, I don't know. I also have a problem with the song. It screams auto-tuned. It may seem too picky but man, that's a huge deal for a musical. I hope such tiny things don't ad up to a lot in the final product.

I would say dwarves in fairytales have nothing to do with actual humans with dwarfism. They are magical beings like trolls. There is a definite aura of 'inner beauty' to being the 'Fairest of them All'. This was the case not only in the original movie but in the original story - Snow White being sweet, kind, motherly and gentle, because the Mirror spoke of inner beauty just as much as outer beauty, there was NOTHING the Evil Queen could do, especially since Snow White was a virgin and the vain, cruel Queen was ragging her loyal huntsman. In Disney's portrayal, we see she had never even been kissed! Zegler talks as if she doesn't even know the original Brothers Grimm story existed, or that the story was interpreted theatrically before - why, the lovely Betty Boop starred in the first animated version!
Ultimately though, it was a moral about vanity, and how the more obsessed you are with your looks, the harder it is to be beautiful - why else would there be a MAGIC MIRROR as such a feature in the story? Not to mention in the original, the Queen used tight corsetry laces and a poisoned comb to try and kill Snow White. According to Zegler of course, women who look for support if horribly abused are weak. Look, I'm all for your strong, independent woman, but Zegler just promotes the idea that women who need help or want to help is a show of weakness. In the original, there is a short piece about sharing between the seven dwarfs, who were kind and protective of her, while she lived with them as their housemaid. And Disney's version even showed Snow White believing it was little children without a mother! Snow White cannot be some kind of warrior princess. To ride into battle, sword aloft, regardless of the purpose, will strip you of some of your innocence.
Moving on, Zegler simply does not give off the vibes of purity that Snow White requires. It's just something that happens - the actor who was your first pick turns out to not characterise it. Michael J Fox wasn't the first pick for Marty McFly, as just one example - in fact he only had six weeks of shooting left when he arrived! So, her Latina appearance notwithstanding, Zegler wouldn't make a good Snow White because she's a shitty actress. So you can blame the casters for not having the guts to kick her out.
As for Zegler's 'pro-Palestine' statement... Well, an opinion is an opinion, and one way or another life in Palestine is really shitty right now, and everybody's got a different opinion on how to solve it. If you want to use your name to support Palestine... whatever. But the promotion of a 300 million dollar Disney movie is not the appropriate place to do it.

Singing while doing chores like Disney princesses has helped me my whole life. I hate house chores, but they become bearable because I can sing and dance through them. In the end (for me personally), it's not about avoiding doing things that's annoying/beneath you, it's about building the strength, skills, and patience to went through it. That's life
