  • This is a step by step approach to removing a motorcycle engine from the frame. A great place to start for the first time restorer.

I was looking for a kind of how to "remove the engine alone" since it is what left to do :). I will try to figure out, don't like asking help!

Great Video! Just wondering if you have to take off the right side engine cover, prior to removing. (2:40) and if so, why?. Thanks!

      reduce weight of the engine.

Crank case covers don't represent a great % of overall weight - much wiser to leave them in situ - offering valuable protection in a tricky operation. Most people take them out whole; if you really, really needed to reduce weight - taking the head off before extraction would make more sense.

Jesus, Prying the cover off by jamming a screwdriver into the seal is not how to remove it...
