      A rhapsody in music has a slightly different definition. It is a one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasting moods, color, tempo, rhythm, and tonality. So it is usually considered the musical version of an epic poem.
      Example: "Rhapsody in E♭ Major" by Johannes Brahms, "Hungarian Rhapsody" by Franz Liszt, and "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin.

  • @celticpoet21
    @celticpoet21 Před 5 lety +46

    Great reaction. Well, the floodgates have opened for you. Nothing beats the original masterpiece! maybe you also heard it in the movie Wayne's world. To refresh your memory the members are Freddie Mercury (dark hair, lead singer who died in 1991 due to aids complications), the drummer (long blond hair) is Roger Taylor, the guitarist (long dark curly hair, still that long today) is Brian May and the bass guitarist is John Deacon. Queen was huge in the 70's and 80's (therefore the long hair and the flashy/tight costumes were all the rage then) and for the past 40+ years Queen is still considered to be one of the most popular bands ever! Making this song music video at the time was actually a huge gamble for them cause it had never been done before and would either make or break them. The whole part in the song about the mother and "killing a man" a lot of people think its Freddie Mercury coming to terms with being bisexual and in the 70's that was way taboo. Through the song he could be telling his mom and all his loved ones that the old straight Freddie they used to know is "dead'. However, its left open to interpretation, thats just one of them. Queen wrote tons of other famous songs that you may have heard like "we will rock you and we are the champions" "killer queen", , "who wants to live forever", "love of my life", "another one bites the dust", "I want to break free", "seven seas of rye", "radio gaga", "somebody to love" (live Montreal 1981 is the best rendition), "under pressure", "these are the days of our lives", "crazy little thing called love", and hundreds more. These guys still stand up today because they sound just as good or even better live alongside their studio recordings cause of their pure talent and even now their works are a breath of fresh air. Queen's music is so diverse, timeless and put the "rage" in outrageous!! yeah, Rami Malek won basically every award: an Oscar, SAG, Bafta, and golden globe award. I saw the movie and totally love it and therefore give it my highest recommendation. it deserved every award nomination and win it got! while clearly some things are either glossed over, scrunched together, ignored or altered, I just go with the flow and love it anyway. it still does a phenomenal job telling how they got started, broke music barriers, totally went the distance and made music history! Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor actually consulted/produced with making the film, mentored their younger doppelgängers and gave it their gold seal of approval. Keep in mind, from the get go, they didn't want to make a documentary, but a loving family portrait to truly capture Freddie's humanity and sensitivity as well as his creativity and stage presence. here's a behind the scenes interview with Roger and Brian. czcams.com/video/bVDHN52RnlM/video.html&frags=pl%2Cwn looking forward to seeing more Queen reactions. enjoy.

Rhapsody now commonly means a joyful expression of something. The original meaning was an instrumental that was an all in one piece that took you somewhere w it. Or an epic poem from the early Greeks. It’s means music poem. Yes, Rami Emanuel who win best actor playing Freddie has fascinating life story as well. He had to audition w Queen watching him sing as Freddie.

    Oh my god! If only I was younger, bro... I love you so much... Your reactions, the way you feel music, you 're so funny too... By the way, Queen is one of my favorite groups, I' m french and so fan of English music and English groups, I mean the ones from England, the country of foolish music, so creative, the perfection of the way they play instruments, the lyrics... They made it become a real art... With all my love, thanks... A definitely french woman follower

    A good video to watch is the Full 1985 Live Aid Concert. Queen's performance is AMAZING. It's 21 mins long but so worth it. Would love to hear and see your reaction to their performance.

    Thank you, thank you. I was a teen when this first came out. I LOVED IT!!! My friends would not even listen to it. I was a Black Rock and Roll Chick in the '70's, LONELY. The technical, the arrangements, how beautiful and strong it was. I loved watching you love it. Try Metallica.
