nice job cleaning the garage Roger, it's spotless, 👍 perfect for jesus shoes, not ready to walk on water yet, ✔ but you might be walking on your blood soon 😁 Enjoy!

Studying this video this morning, I appreciate, not looking forward to this job. Two NOS quarters and one repop rocker panel, I bet you can guess which one will be the most trouble. Tempted to try and open it up, like I saw you do in another video and weld it up. Nervous about changing it because all alignment starts with bottom door rocker panel gap.

Looking good Roger. I've been following your process chasing the gaps in my 69 Camaro doors, lots of work/time but worth it. I live in the north and deal with salty roads and rust so mine needed almost everything replaced. I could never understand why my rockers weren't rusty until I read someplace where Chevy used galvanized on the rockers. I mention this because you should avoid welding galvanized metal, it can cause health issues.

Thanks, if they would have made the whole car galvanized we wouldn’t be having this convo 😊

@@MrFireman164 You're right! This "hobby" can be very humbling at times. But there is nothing like the satisfaction you get when you solve a problem and your efforts work and look good!

16:40 i guess you'll use the flexible wand and spray epoxy at the backside of the weld ? preferably several coats? And consider POR15 the surface rust, it'll be faster and easier than taking the whole top off and sandblasting it. It looks like a ton of work.. Speaking of my own lazy point of view. 💪 🥃

Sometimes I brush epoxy onto the weld, sometimes inject it with a syringe but If it’s not accessible then yes a wand works fine.

do your epoxy after the welding, use a magic wand / cavity wand to get all the inside box sections, makes a mess on the floor but you can cover that with plastic sheet.
as for priming the floor out the car there will be alot of welds to clean back and it always looks better when its primed after, for sure you can hit it with the weld thru prime first
i have a similar jack like the hand one from the states, one of the guys at work had it in the back of a mercedes he brought over from CA,
i've worn flat pumps in the garage many a time, its when you got that one tack weld to do and you cant be arsed to put boots and overalls on, yep, weld in my toe cleavage, that hurts, learnt the hard way to keep my boob cleavage covered !!!!!
something i been doing on my own cars that i'll keep forever with mig welds on the outer panels like the rockers and fenders that are the likely ones to be changed if there is a need to for collision etc is to mark them with a very small nib from a 1/8 drill right in the center, it is only enough so they are just visible in the metal but not after paint, that way i can see where they are if i ever need to for removal ( with mig welds its more a case of cutting the left over strip each side of them and wiggling that off and grinding the mig flat as opposed to trying to drill one out
good to see you guys doing ok
my daughter used to say "my mommy is building a space ship, " it's a pile of s*** that takes up space in the garage".........ok i may have said that one too many times and she caught on but it was funny
