I am a mobile dog groomer. The pump in my van went out, but I remembered having a spare. The spare was 10 years old, and made noise like it was working, but no water was flowing. It was exactly what you said, the diaphragm was sticking. I am back to work, and only lost half a day! Thanks for your help!

Hey thanks for the video! I tried everything to get my pump going without having to purchase a new one. It was the check valve. It was stuck pretty good.😊

You are a lifesaver! My fiancé and I arrived to our camp spot for 4th of July ready to cut loose only to find water pump wasn’t working. After several hours of troubleshooting and just about ready to go buy a new pump, we found your video. Thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for the direct, simple, easy to follow and understandable video!!!!

Thanks, Chris. You nailed it. I pondered the ridiculous Shurflo troubleshooting guide that came with my camper, watched two 9 minute CZcams videos made by guys who know less than I do, and finally came across your video. My check valve seemed to be jammed by an o-ring up in the valve that became loose and got down in the valve's travel chamber. I wonder if that came from a bit of water freezing in the pump over the winter. (I winterize by just blowing out the lines and pumping it dry. I used the pink RV antifreeze once--never again.) There was no other debris or calcification in my check valve.
A couple of notes for other lost souls: 1) I tagged one of the wires going into the top of the pump so that I'd rehook it properly; not sure if it matters. 2) My pump needed a P1 screwdriver to unscrew the manifold screws. The factory had way overtorced them, so a P2 wouldn't work. 3) Screws with flat washers go in the corners; screws with lock washers go in the middles (duh!). 4) A 2mm or 5/64 allen wrench works the flow adjust set screw on top of the manifold. I've read that some people have fixed this problem by cranking it all the way down, and then backing off on it while the pump is running; i.e., crank it all the way down, run it a little, back off, run it a little, etc. I didn't try this, and don't know what effect it would have on the pump, but it might be worth a shot if you are stuck in the boonies and don't feel like removing and replacing the dang thing.
Again, THANKS Chris! My camper manufacturer suggested that this issue may require replacing the pump. That's $70-$80 bucks out the door, and a perfectly good pump in the landfill!

Thanks for giving me the courage to open the pump! I was thinking it just wasn't primed but couldn't figure out how to easily get water in the pump.. I finally opened up the pump and found plastic shavings from who knows where stuck in the rubber valves. After 10 minutes of cleaning and reassembly, I got instant water from the sink!

Chris, thank you very much for this video, you saved me money. I have a 2019 Winnebago Outlook 22C motorhome and without any warning the pump stopped working. After watching your video, I took it apart and the problem was on the round valve, it was stuck. There was no calcium deposits, but it would not open. I first tried tapping the whole pump and it didn't work. I then took it apart and I pushed on the valve twice and put it back together and now it works. Thank you so much.

First of all, thank you for your video! I was able to fix mine in about 20 minutes. Note to all: this happened to me with a brand new unit (shurflo 4008). The regulator was actually pushed through to my side (pushing side), and I had to force it through. Once pushed through, boom-water suction! So glad I saw this. Thank you thank you thank you!

Awesome video, I watched and opened up my pump after it was running but not pumping. Found the pressure switch round bit which you had stuck also. Overnight the water must have frozen and expanded. The rubber seal was jammed into the mechanism. Pulled it apart and put back together just using the same seals as I had none spare and it worked perfect. Cheers again!

BINGO! Chris. Thank you for posting. I was about to cut the wires and replace this pump, but checked the WWW first. It is a relatively new pump. We had the camper on city water for a while so it never ran. The power wire was long enough so I pulled it out onto the floor, removed the cover, pushed lightly on the small valve and it broke right free. I would not even have thought to check this except for your video. I dug out the original OEM pump that I had to replace once when on the road, pulled the cover (it was a slightly different design), but sure enough the valve was stuck too. Now I have a spare pump :D
    .
Ours has an in-line removable screen filter - I agree with you on adding one. I cannot imagine the crude I cleaned out of that filter going through the pump.

Chris, thank you. We got out to the electric only campsite with a full freshwater tank, and…a non functioning pump. I took it apart, and sure enough, that check valve was stuck. I had a working pump but no water coming from the tap. I watched several CZcams videos and generally followed lots of suggestions. Finally after dismantling and reassembling various parts I found the problem. It was simply calcium deposits in the aerator. A splash of vinegar sorted the problem. Motto: look for there simple things first.

The check valve on mine was stuck. I was surprised at how much pressure it took to get it to move. I wonder if CLR poured in there then flushed will help prevent it from sticking again in the near future. Mine failed while on a 5 month trip across the country. We used it a couple days, then about a week later in a Walmart parking lot if failed.
