Rachel's bad body odor diagnosis : trimethylaminuria TMAU 2007

  • Rachel gets diagnosed with Trimethylaminuria (TMAU) at 32, after 14 years of smell incidents. From UK Docu 2007 ; Help I smell of Fish (watch on youtube). Show says she is 301 TMAU case in UK. Now it's probably 1-1.5K or more. 'Mild' cases are not rare.
The show mentions people with 'TMAU' can smell of feces. 1 theory is this is because people with a FMO3 enzyme issue will smell of all FMO3 substrates (mostly sulfides and amines) and not just trimethylamine.

Thank God for helping me find out about this horrible disease which I have suffered from since a child. Even my doctor was too ashamed to talk with me about it. I have lived in humility forty years while thinking I was all alone, on my knees crying out to God in tears. I don’t know why I didn’t research it myself sooner, except for the pure shame of it. I couldn’t even stand to type it in the search engine. Hold on tight and standing firm in your faith, y’all. I will be praying for you and all fellow sufferers.

Patricia Link I know something that might help.. It was done to me when I was 13, not sure if it’ll work for adults too but you can try.. submerge your body in a tub with vinegar , and leave it for like 10 mins.. do this everyday for a month.. the metabolism should change.. don’t put any around your face thou.

I deal with this, I don't care anymore. I've dealt with a lifetime of humiliation. It hurts just always hoping that some day I could come out on top and be the best at something for a change. Is that so bad? I'd try so hard to be a well respected person in society. I just feel like it's a form of slavery. I also wish I had the ability to love others or form a loving relationship in real life.

I have Trimethylaminuria as well as Aromatase excess syndrome. Here is
how I treat this im myself it works for me I have no detectable bad
smells anymore, im 43 it took me decades of experimenting to figure out a
working protocol for myself. I take 2000 mg of activated charcoal 3x
per day once when I get up once mid day one when i go to bed. Also I
take 4 target brand Fiber gummies 3x per day at the same time. I use
Nu-Salt Potassium based salt and never eat sodium based salts. I only
eat 2 meats ever they are chicken without skin and 99% fat free ground
turkey. I only eat from 1 pm to 6 pm daily. I never eat eggs, red meats
fish seafood , milk products etc. And I do mean never! I dont drink
alcohol of any-kind. I avoid all sugars but use equal fake sugar. I eat
lots of potatoes and corn but only in natural forms. I dont eat any
nuts or beans of any type. No soy or soy products. My diet is very
restricted and I never go out to eat. I do drink coffee and tea. I can
eat any kind of fruit. I eat a tons of apples and figs and cherry's and
plums all of which i grow. I have written down everything I have eaten
for the last 15 years. In my 20s I was very depressed and had given up.
Once i got dedicated to beating this life got better and livable. Also I
used to be in the 300lbs range but have been under 200 now for 13
years. It alot of work at first but nowadays its just routine. I have no
detectable odor under this protocol. This is a lifestyle not a cure. I
slipped up 6 months ago and had a steak cooked in butter, it was Wagyu
so I figured lets risk it. Within 12 hours I could smell some odor from
myself. It took a few days back 100% on the protocol to get back to
smell free. I have friend who also has Trimethylaminuria he literally
only eats 5 things chicken, lettuces, popcorn, fruit and sweet potatoes.
He drinks many drink types which are full sugar. He also has no
detectable smell and he is a hippie looking guy who only baths about
every 4 days or so. He does not take any supplements except a few
various gummy vitamins. He is very thin about 140 at 5 foot 10 or 11.
One thing is that just because you smell bad it does not mean you have
Trimethylaminuria. Tons of other things can cause bad smells. The only
way to know you have it for sure is to get a real test for it. The test
is a urine test and its hard to find places that can do it. They look at
your urine and see if you have trimethylamine in it. The key is to no
put any foods into your body that contain trimethylamine or that make
your body produce trimethylamine. If you actually have Trimethylaminuria
your body cannot break down trimethylamine. This disease is genetic so
both of your parents must have it or at least carry the gene for you to
get it. If you actually have this then you will smell worse based on
what you eat. Your body has no ability to break down trimethylamine so
the more that goes into your body the more you will smell. Try my
protocol for a few weeks its not really that hard in the long run. I
know it will work for anyone who actually has Trimethylaminuria. If
there is no trimethylamine in your body then you will not smell its
    simple science.

I don't know this disease and I don't have it, but I have a problem similar to it. Even after shower I stink some and no deodorant can completely solve the problem. The smell remains on clothes and it may remains after washing! So I use baking soda (Sodium bicarbonate) after shower and some other times, on underarms and between legs. And it works completely, I hope that can solve tmau patients problem a little. Try that.

When I eat seafood my urine smells like fish. This literally just started 2yrs ago. And I'm not sure why. I don't smell like this at all only when I eat seafood. I thought I had this syndrome now I'm not sure. But I love seafood and won't stop eating it. But I'm trying different things to see what will help. I had a baby almost 4yrs ago haven't been with a man since. And I'm so embarrassed to tell my soon to be bf about this. I'm glad it's only my urine.

So I had a rather short phase of maybe 6 to 9 months of this
embarrassing condition back in highschool. I realized that it was due to
the fact that I was taking in too much choline from eating too many
multivitamins a day. I cured this through prayer to Yah and activated
charcoal supplements, but it may not work for everyone since mine was
not inherited, rather due to my vitamin overuse. However, do NOT lose
    hope.

Do it's biological, either a lack of enzyme of the enzyme isn't working properly, that's why it comes out through the pores, but like all health issues, stress makes the situation worse.
