Brilliant! Thanks for sharing. And all your podcasts are really first rate.
Thank you 🙏
Brilliant! Some superb tips there, Thanks very much
I appreciate the feedback my friend 🙏
I am a beginner here and was worried about how much money should I spend for good audio. But you made me realize that my Gopro records good audio with Mic. Checked and just found out it's true. Thank you so much.
I’m so glad it helped. Sounds like you’re good to go!! Enjoy my friend and welcome to the motovlog world!
Best video on youtube!!❤❤❤
ADR Audio laid in after recording in front of fan, nice... your technique is called Worldizing... see the making of the film Monster House and how Randy Thom used it to get the rattles and life of the house together. I'm a 20yr audio professional for film and tv...
Thank you! Very cool feedback :)
Great video
Thank you 🙏
omg this is brilliant haha i'm definitely gonna try this! May I ask if you also use this mic to capture your exhaust sound when you ride? or do you have other mic in place? TIA
It’s the same mic, one and only 😁 the GoPro balances the sound so well. Seems to focus on the dominant sound at the moment. So yeah… nothing fancy. Just one cheap laptop flex mic plugged into a GoPro 👍
Heck yeah.
great tips !
Thank you 🙏
thanks man , cheap aand useful setup , i use intra360 one rs, but i think it will work fine just like gopro
I imagine the insta has good audio control :) Thanks for the feedback 🙏
Apart from the mic and it’s placement, are you using any audio processing or audio editing when producing your videos? Great video 👍
I don’t modify or adjust the sound quality in any way 👍 I slap my files into adobe premiere and edit my clips. The GoPro sourced audio is excellent 💪
Thanks for the vid. I have a GoPro 7 with the mic adapter, lavalier mic well ticked behind the chin, with a chin curtain. I still get wind noise and some popping and cracking after 40 MPH. 😢. Thought if I could adjust the gain by adding a gain cable, thought of swapping out mic’s etc. not sure 🤔
Have you tried going into settings and editing "Preferences - Audio Input"?
Great stuff... literally two days ago I was asking myself... I wonder what he uses... clearly the mic is shielded from the wind #superdeadcat. I use a Sena 10 U (not for vlog) but bluetooths into my iPhone and my wife can hear me so clear on a call, again mic is shielded from the wind. Thanks for this !
Shielded is important. But what I learned after using my phone, an audio capture device and a cheaper action cam with the mic in the same place… all I got was chaotic wind noise. The software in the audio capture device makes all the difference.
I got rid of the Media Mod and went with the mic adapter, as the Media Mod requires you remove the case to change the battery.
I like the cleaner look of the media mod without the adapter on the side of my chin. Would be nice if they could squeeze the 3.5 mic port right onto the gopro itself.
I have a GoPro 8 plus MediaMod, and I've tried 7 different mics and only one worked in stereo despite (the correct TRRS pinout). It's driving me insane, I'm so close to giving up and going down the insta route. [And yes I know I could sort it in Post, but shouldn't have to..]. I also got the Media mod swapped out to no avail. A mono option in the software? (No chance of GoPro doing it for an older camera...)
Wow! I use that cheap pc laptop flex mic and it works perfectly. I keep all the settings on default. I just make sure I turn on the GoPro first, then press the record button. Otherwise the GoPro will not recognize the media mod /external mic. Is it possible your GoPro is having connection problems? Maybe the media mod mic port is faulty?
How many rings on the insert plug. Is it TRS or TRRS? Thanks. I might try your setup. I cannot get anything but wind noise using my media mod and Lav mic.
Its a standard TRS laptop mic... like this one amzn.to/3meZm5x Cheap! And works so well!! :)
@@sstressfl thanks for the quick response. Cheers and be safe
@@BlueSea_72 cheers brother ✌️
Do you use ND filters ? How do you fit them on your GoPro 8 with the media mod?
No ND filters :)
I like it ☺️, I think it is the time to have your own "Logo" & stickers ... Please think about it ☺️
Do you set the microphone to stereo or wind in audio setting ?
I leave it on the default “auto” works great 👍
@@sstressfl cool . Cause ive heard someone say set it to wind
I'm trying to use a wireless mic in my helmet (rode wireless me) and the outside noise and bike noise over power my voice. I don't know how to fix that.
What is the mic connected to?
@@sstressfl go pro media mod.
You need to turn on your GoPro first so it will recognize the media mod (side button)! Then start recording (top button) 👍 if you don’t, it will record using the built in mic which is why you’re getting the noise.
idk how you don't get wind noise from your breath without a dead cat but i'm gonna try this setup cuz mine sounds terrible right now.gonna be more of a challenge though because I have that gopro adapter for the hero 7 to contend with
I had the adapter too and Velcrod it to the side of my chin bar. You can see it in some of my previous ride videos. It worked the same as this setup. Amazing isn’t it? So simple and sounds so clear!
@@sstressfl it really does sound good . I’m using a lav mic now and it clips if you talk loud. Not acceptable
@@sstressfl did you use a little short cord to go between the adapter and flex mic? I ordered one incase
Thx
This might help my audio and the fan idea is masterful! I'm a noobie, if you haven't guessed. Can I pull a strip of audio done in front of the fan into iMovie? Do you have a suggestion here? Many thanks! Liked and subscribed!
I don’t use iMovie but from what I can see…. Record your fan-audio with your GoPro, import the movie file into imovie as usual and then the Google says 1) Select the clip in your movie Timeline that contains the video and audio. 2) Right-click or hold Control and click the clip. 3) Choose Detach Audio in the shortcut. That should do it!
Go pro ain't so excellent anymore unfortunately.. Great tips at the end of the video!
It still leads as best of action cameras. Works great for me.
I'll try! The fake fan audio made me laugh so hard
Lol
Kindly share, Gopro audio settings if any
I just plug it into the media mod, plug in the mic, turn on power, then start recording :)
@@sstressfl there are settings for powered and non powered mics
@@MaheshKarkera Mine is set to RAW Audio off, Wind Auto, Mics Stereo.
Great 🧢
I hope it works for me😒
Sure it will. Why would it not?
Street speed 717 that has over a million subs only uses a GoPro. Just saying. Lol
It’s an amazing little device 👍
