- How much weight can an E-bike handle? - MTB tow challenge! I push my Canyon electric mountain bike to the limits to see how much weight it can pull with it Bosch CX Race motor, can it really tow 8300kg?
I put my Canyon Strive:ON E mountain bike to the test by pulling and towing 4 increasingly heavy vehicles starting with my road legal CFMOTO buggy which is the lightest of them all at 700 kg then I go through my Mercedes vans until the biggest vehicle is released into the streets, my huge Phoenix motorhome which weighs around 8 tonnes! This bike challenge was super fun and shows just how strong these electric bikes really out, so what are you waiting for? Go get one and climb some hills!!

Unfortunately a long way out of my price range.
Let's just appreciate the fact that Sam is the ultimate bike tester and Lewi is the ultimate cameraman for the job. They test so we can get solid information on what is the best E bike for towing random buggies and Sprinter vans. It's essential information. 😎👍
There's a reason bike trailers connect at the bike's axle and not the seat. The leverage won't pull the cyclist off balance. If you tied the tow rope lower its much easier to keep the bike upright.

i have seen plenty of these vids and the biggest issue seems to be just finding a good place to put the towing rope. my guess would be that the only way to do it perfectly would be to mount it to rear axle.
oh this isn't even that powerful... most of the ones i have seen were so powerful that the front wheel lifts up if they try to tow enough weight.

Look up kinetic ropes, offroaders use them all the time for recovery of stuck vehicles. If you had a good run at it, either that thing will move or you are going over the handlebars

If you used a solid bar that cannot move left or right radially, you would get more efficient forward motion. I think the motorhome would be possible.

Try a kenetic recovery rope!!
You know how you do that thing with a tube to stop your cranks spinning off jumps? Maybe try something like that to keep your bars straight and you'll be able to reduce the torque steer you're getting :p
You could pull like made if you ran the tow strap over with the back wheel turning the back wheel into a winch but this would be more of a test for how strong the wheel is I think all the force would squeeze around the wheel
