Champion hikers, thanks for pushing yourselves to show us this wonderful scenery. Seems a rather crazy climate! The GoPro is doing a great job of picking up detail in the distance too….are you still using your adapted foam windslayer on the H9?

Nice that you went there! :) When I tried to go to Paso del Viento, trying to cross that river on foot was next to impossible for me, because of the current and the fact that it was literally ice cold... I actually fell into the river, and had to swim back to the riverbank, which was pretty crazy. The strong wind that you experienced near the glacier is the result of the Venturi effect, which happens because the mountains create a choke point in the flow of the air.
It's sad to see that the glacier seems to be slowly melting... That lake was smaller 10 years ago.
I hiked the Huemel circuit about a month ago. I crossed both rivers by foot. My feet and legs have never been so cold. You are right, ice cold water. I fell up to chest level in the second river closer to El Chalten. I made a video. Yeah, that wind is crazy. For people who want to see these glaciers- go soon because these glaciers are melting extremely fast.

Chris had his feet in the glacier water for 11 seconds. Carol had her feet in the glacier water for 17 seconds.
The glacier water is perfect for numbing the nerves and reducing swelling in the feet. Long distance runners do 'ice baths' to reduce swelling in their feet, knees and hips.

Soy argentino y no me canso de recorrer este país: quebrada de Humahuaca, las cataratas del Iguazú, Mendoza, Córdoba, y si te gusta la cultura, la gastronomía y la arquitectura: Buenos Aires, Rosario, Córdoba, Mendoza por decirte algunos lugares.

Hola chicos, los felicito por haber hecho el esfuerzo de realizar ambos trekkings tan seguido, yo hice Laguna Torre y Capri el mismo día, baje al pueblo mareada, pero la sensación de esa caminata no la olvido mas, la gente te brinda un "vamos falta poco", "lo mejor esta al final", me tome muchos descansos y rellene con esa agua glaciar mi botella varias veces, lo hice en la misma época que uds, pero en 2016 y me tocaron 3 días espectaculares, cosa rara porque ahí puede llover, nevar y volver a salir el sol todo en un solo día, para los que se animan hacer noche de camping en Poincenot tienen la ventaja de poder hacer mas tranquilos todos los trekkings porque ya estas arriba, la verdad en mi vida arme una carpa pero si vuelvo seguramente lo voy a intentar, porque subir y bajar esa montaña es un esfuerzo muy grande, Saludos.

Another beautiful place 'in this neck of the world' is the Torres del Paine National Park/Chile (beeing that close it might be worthwile to include it in your itinerary). The main attractions there are Torres del Paine and Lago Grey. Enjoy!

Actually the average temperature for summer in Chaltén / calafate is 20 degrees, so it's not uncommon to reach 24 or up to 28 degrees in summer. The area is very dry so you can guess that hot weather and drought are common.
Another great video with a good speech. It's a pitty that you ain´t get data before going there. What you saw at the back of the Laguna Torre is the ten thousand feet high Cerro Torre, one of the most difficult mountains to climb in the whole world. Try to watch the Herzog´s movie "Scream of Stone" to have a better idea where you´ve been.

Laguna torre is such a tease because the first 2 kilos make you wonder how hard it’ll be, then it’s super easy afterwards
exactly, we were dead from the previous days of hikes and at the start we thought what the hell have we gotten ourselves into. But then it's kind of flat after the beginning and easy :D
