    ❅Itinerary & Highlights❅
    🌞🌲🌼 Day 1 | Laguna Amarga to Campamento Serón | 11miles 🌞🌲🌼
    After a 2-hour bus ride from Puerto Natales (not to mention ~30hr of travel to reach Puerto Natales), we are ready to start hiking, so we skip the shuttle bus from Amarga to Torres Central, adding 7km to our day. Pleasant weather, giving us our first views of the Paine Massif and our first taste of Patagonia's famous winds. It is a serene hike through lush forest, with many flowers in bloom and a symphony of birdsong.
    💨🧊🌺 Day 2 | Campamento Serón to Refugio Dickson | 12 miles💨🧊🌺
    Pretty windy at times, especially at our first pass. More forest, with views of granite peaks and glaciers. We can probably say that about every day in Torres del Paine. Dickson Lake, filled with icebergs from Dickson Glacier, make this one of the more beautiful campsites on the O Circuit. Cool birds include the Upland Goose and the Southern Lapwing.
    🦟🏔️⛺️ Day 3 | Refugio Dickson to Camping Los Perros | 6 miles🦟🏔️⛺️
    This is a relatively short day, but we are already starting to feel the mileage accumulate. Where is the wind when you need it? Lots of mosquitos today, but the views of Los Perros glacier and lagoon more than make up for it. Lots of birds at this rustic camp, including the Ashy-headed Goose and Austral Thrush.
    ❅🏔️💨 Day 4 | Camping Los Perros to Refugio Grey | 11 miles❅🏔️💨
    This is a big day. We gain much altitude and deep snow to reach windy John Gardner Pass. The views of massive Glacier Grey are mesmerizing, bringing tears to Kako's eyes. A rainbow makes the moment even more magical. Multiple slips due to the snow and wind, leading me to slide a solid 20m on my rear end. Fun times! After the pass, we have another great hike through a forest, with spectacular views of Grey Glacier the whole way. Finally, three long suspension bridges add to the adventure!
    ⛰️🌅 🍻Day 5 | Refugio Grey to Refugio Paine Grande | 7 miles ⛰️🌅 🍻
    A pleasant hike, with the O Circuit now overlapping with the W trek, but the highlight is probably the lodge on Lake Pehoe, with stunning views of Mount Paine Grande & the Cuernos del Paine, especially as the sun is setting.
    🌄⛰️🌞Day 6 | Paine Grande to Mirador Britanico to Cuernos | 16 miles🌄⛰️🌞
    We rolled out of bed thinking there was a fire blazing outside. Instead, it was the sunrise of a lifetime. Gorgeous weather as we hike through Frances Valley to some of Patagonia's most famous viewpoints.
    🥾👬🤧Day 7 | Refugio Cuernos to Refugio Chileno | 9 miles🥾👬🤧
    This was possibly the most crowded day on the trail, and one of the only times we spotted litter in this pristine park. Pro tip: It is NOT OK to throw tissue (or any litter) away on the trail (or anywhere)! Anyhow, Paso de los Vientos (Windy Pass) was aptly named, and we get some views of the following day's grande finale. Though we heard there was a blizzard up there on this day
    🌄❅ 🍺Day 8 | Chileno to Mirador Base Torres to Torre Central| 9 miles 🌄❅ 🍺
    Predawn hike starting at 3am to catch the sunrise at Torres del Paine's iconic viewpoint. Cold, windy, snowy, unforgettable.

    Not an ordinary vlog where every CZcamsr is always hungry and shows us WTF they are eating.
    Nice and serene Patagonia. Lush fields, noisy creeks, and lively mountain ranges. I do want to be there. Beautiful.

    Thanks for doing this video, it really brought me back. I finished not too long ago and the memories are so fresh, you had a lot of good shots on the O side that I can still remember vividly. I started and ended in Paine Grande instead of Central as the bookings I did set it up that way. On the last day when I took the ferry I looked back at the park and couldn't believe I finished it all, what an adventure... thank you for the video once again

      This really was an amazing trek! Totally different than our usual hikes in Ecuador and Peru. It was so green 🌲 It reminded us a lot of the Pacific Northwest, but with extra jagged towers and gigantic glaciers. Grey Glacier was one of the most insane views we've ever had❅🏔️

      Thanks! It was an amazing experience. The wind was crazy! We've never felt stronger wind, except for possibly in a typhoon💨. Kako and a few others started crouching to avoid falling over every time a huge gust came in. And there were times a huge gust would blow snow/ice into our faces and it felt like we were standing in front of an exploding window. Fun times!

    My favorite hiker and vloggers are finally back! That was a cool ad awesome hike. I watched it til the end! :) Good thing you still had clearing of the Torres Del Paines. :D How was it? is it relatively moderate or difficult hike in regards of the trail?

    • @MEOWnderlust
      @MEOWnderlust  Před 5 měsíci +3

      It's our favorite hiking companion! Thanks for watching until the end😁 We were pretty lucky with the weather, though it was certainly windy. Overall, it's not too difficult of a trek, but it is pretty long. Unlike other Andes hikes, it is not a high altitude trek, so that eliminates one of the usual challenges. The trails are well-marked, and the infrastructure is quite developed, so it's pretty comfortable. The biggest challenge for us was Gardner Pass because it was still covered in snow and exceptionally windy.

    Another small question. For recharg batteries. You must pay?

    • @MEOWnderlust
      @MEOWnderlust  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Free to recharge. If you have a room, there will be an outlet. Otherwise, the dining rooms have power outlets, though you may have to wait in line. Having said that, we still brought 9 batteries and two power banks to be safe 😁

  •  Před 2 měsíci +1

    Amazing. From brasil. I think my carbon fiber tripod benro will be very light with this havy wind. I want to make long exposure shots. What do you think? just the best video and good information too. thank you

    • @MEOWnderlust
      @MEOWnderlust  Před 2 měsíci +1

      🙏 Thanks for watching! We’re glad you enjoyed it. Tough question. Our tripod is relatively light, and it seemed to do ok with the wind. We did a few time lapses in moderate wind that were stable. Also, our shots of Grey Glacier and pass were in very strong winds, and those shots turned out stable. In both cases, we kept the tripod low to the ground, and our GH6 kit is somewhat heavy, so that probably helped.

    •  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@MEOWnderlust thank you. Help a lot. I think i will bring a small bag to put stones and fixed the tripod. I have havier tripods but i dont want carry so much weght. Thank you.
