- I compare the MIP (Memory In Pixel) displays between the G-Shock GBX-100 and the G-Shock GBX-200. Although the displays on both these watches are exactly the same, the way that they're implemented between the two watches make them appear different, and in my opinion one looks better than the other.

Very helpful information about the air gap. Thanks for pointing this out.
I prefer the finish on the GBX and the way the tide and other info is displayed makes it a much more useful tool for me.
The tide and sunrise/sundown features on the Gbx100 are indeed really nice features.
For me too, plus the countdown timer is a proper timer, while on the GBD it's a workout interval timer that doesn't work as well outside of workouts
Excellent comparison, and useful information about these watches! Thx for sharing. I still would prefer the gbx, because of the brushed metal piece XD
The bushed metal bezel does give the gbx100 a unique look. The tide and moon phase features are nice too.
Very good comparison video. The yellow one looks nicer.
It matters more which features you need. They offer different things. Only one of them offers tide and moon information which is the one I went for as I live near the sea and like to know when the tide is in or out.
This video changed my purchase decision after coming to know about the air gap , now it's Gbd 200 ....good video thanks
Overall, I prefer the GBD200 as well.
I purchased both models. I like to have both.
Ive only got gbd200uu, but i have a few suunto all blacks, and like them very much however the MIP face trumps all the negative displays hands down while being just as tough as suunto core's if not tougher, great buy! No regrets
Decision made - thanks to your review 😊
What would you prefer?
Great video
Well done sir
The lack of 1/100th second stopwatch display could have easily been overcome if Casio only displayed these extra 2 digits after the stopwatch was stopped. Simples
I’m not sure it’s that simple. I’d say that it relates to the refresh rate if the MIP display technology.
Yes of course - but the slow refresh rate only comes into play for the digital display changing, ie the 1/10ths and 1/100ths digits do not change fast enough or look garbled, but it is unnecessary to see them changing anyway
My solution is NOT to display these last 2 digits constantly (maybe show 2 dashes) but wait until the watch is stopped or for lap time, only then the 2 extra digits appear. @@wristaction
@@palemale2501 that could work.
Yup - have just sent this suggestion to Seiko customer support - they'll maybe send me a Grand Seiko lol lol@@wristaction
Thanks man i was really confused on which one to get, I am gonna get the GBD 200, not gonna lie but I do like the metal finish on GBX 100NS but I am not gonna use the tide graph feature.
Good choice, the GBD-200 is awesome.
I can’t see the difference myself and probably wouldn’t in the flesh either, I wonder if they can do MIP in positive displays, would that work, can it be done, would a positive display need it 🤷🏻♂️
The extra detail would certainly be a massive bonus though.
Cheers for video, I love any information about G Shocks 👍🏻
There is no positive MIP at the moment. I don't know whether it is to do with the technology but in both watches the display is very legible.
The difference with the air gap in the display seems minimal enough, at least on camera. I think people who want the GBX will still get it because they like the metal bezel.
Yes the metal bezel is nice. The GBX-100’s tide graph and moon phase, sunrise/sundown display is also a major reason to get the Gbx.
@@wristaction Yeah, the metal bezel, tide, sun & moon features swayed me onto the GBX-100. I'm moving to the coast so it's nice to have those extra functions and the metal bezel really pops on my all-black model.
Thx!
Could you comment on the vibration feature does one have stronger than the other?
Both the same
Hi man!
Is light uniform or one of the sides looks a little bit brithter? I've seen many videos where the light of the watch looks a little bit brighter than the other side.
You can still notice heats pots for the Led white light on these watches. There are 2 LEDs at the bottom of the screen. Best type of backlight for even illumination is the EL backlight. Check out my video on comparing backlights if you want.
@@wristaction Thank you for your response. I will search for your video.
I think the led light on the left side looks a little bit brighter.
I agree!!!! GBD200 is better!
Sunrise/sunset on the GBX100 nice feature too. Not on the 200
You are correct. GBX 100 also shows the moon phase.
How's the battery going for you? I hope it will last more
I keep it on airplane mode and turn on power save. It is still on the original battery (2.5 years).
Is there a solar powered version of this watch?
not yet. Hoping they make one.
Do either of these have Bluetooth?
both have bluetooth
I don't care about that, the GBX is the best choice for me because of the feature set
The GBD is more of a gym smart watch, while the GBX has more outdoors features and a countdown timer, which to me is more important
GBX very battery hungry
my one is still on the original battery, after 2 years of use.
@@wristaction I'm using mine for running. Maybe that's why. Yeah I hate smartwatch but GShock with GPS is crazy expensive and too bulky.
I prefer the air gap.... The gbx-100 has a much better look. That's my opinion, nothing to do with yours
The gbx-100 is still a great watch. I’m wearing mine now.
GBX 100 IS SOLAR
