    i feel your pain, i put 14inch KST on my 2020 road glide. i tried for three days to run the wires then paid a local shop 150. but in the end what a difference, it was well worth the time and trouble.

    Anyone answer! You think if you had a backrest you’d be able to use it? I like long distance stuff but wondering if these bring you too far forward for a back rest. Im 5’11”.

    I put the exact bars on my bike. I even cringed when I saw this video because you pulled your ignition with your handlebars straight, if you turned those bars and tried to insert the ignition later, you would have issues and something new to fix.
    Start this work by pulling off your left saddlebag, fusebox cover and pull out that huge Red 50 fuse on the side (avoid code issues).
    Wires... purchase tools ($12 on amazon) to make removal of some of the molex electrical ends easier.... absolutely do not cut these off and solder the wires back together. You can find videos on removing and reattaching the molex ends. I ended up taking apart the original harley wiring harness sleeve off and using a long tube of heatshrink followed up by putting the wires through techwrap which protects the wires and is slick so it doesnt make any friction being dragged through. They pulled through with ease under 10 minutes.
    Control clusters.. Break off the Control cluster shell pins by using vice grips and snapping them off. (Advice from FXR Division) and clean up anything left with a dremel tool. Use a ball peen hammer to tap through the pin in the handlebar clamp.
    Make sure your banjo bolts wont scratch your bars when you attach the control clusters. I scratched mine and had to fix with a painstaking paint, sand and buff process.
    So yeah if all of this seems to be a bit much, Hire a professional to install your bars. It's not an easy task, it can be maddening trying to pull wires through (especially if you don't heatshrink and techwrap them).

      What do you mean by techwrap? Like braided wrap? I used a ton of jelly like lube. It worked but made a mess. Thanks.

    @828biggs Před 3 lety +1

    I called FXR Division they tried to talk me into the 14" Motowitch bar, I went with the 12"
    Me and my buddy pulled our guts out trying to get the wires through, to the point I was positive I was going to snap wires. Then i got the bright idea to hose inside the bars down and the wires with
    Fluid Film. Which helped alot!
    My 19 RGS threw a bunch of codes to after we got done, i cleared them all and they didn't come back.
    I love them, only gripe I got now is the funky bend the clutch and brake line make now, the fix is like you know is a straight banjo bolt. Or nice new braided lines! 😂
    And if you never tried, your rear view mirrors will mount under the bars, know what i mean, take them off put them back on under the bars. You will be able to see under your arms no problem with the 14" bars.
    That is how I'm running them with 12" I like it too works good and looks good to.

      Thanks for the video. I’m in the same situation trying to figure out 12 inch or 14 inch. I’m 6 foot tall, shorter arms, longer torso.I prefer the more narrow 30.5 inch width like motowitch bars and little to no sweep. I do need pullback though (shoulder injury needing to keep my hands lower than shoulders instead of having my arms straight out) and was wondering if I should get the 14 inch and pull them closer to me (rotating them down) or stay with the 12 inch and rotate those down? Spoke to FXR and they were trying to sell me on the 14s, but I’m just not sure. Last question, what would you see as the disadvantage if you had gotten the 12 inch bars and used those instead of your 14s? Thanks again.
