The amount of stick Havertz has taken despite coming in and doing fairly well for a not dissimilar transfer fee compared to Richarlison is absolutely ridiculous. 'Richi' was a signing that went exactly how I thought it would for Spurs. He's never done anything consistently enough to suggest he'd be better for them than he has.

Let’s assume Spurs didn’t lose Harry Kane, and the rest of the league remained the same. I think we can all agree they’d be fourth. Just outside the title race. I think in Ange’s first season that would be a success.

Does anyone sees parallels between Ange's first season and Erik's ? Both are system based coaches that initially 'transformed' the way their clubs played - getting good results, being a breath of fresh air while walking into dysfunctional clubs. Like EtH, Ange's side is ambling towards the end of season having been found out by opponents.
LOL ETH is a system based coach who threw out the system to get results. He's trying to play Ajax ball in some convoluted and hybrid fashion this year and it's been a disaster. He hasn't put the foundational work in with the squad to play it. Ange understands that he needs to build the foundations to build the system.

Everton fan here, I was 100% Ange when he turned up, but yeah, I have a few m8s who are hardcore Spurs, and something isn't right there. But don't give Ricky stick, he's a decent player, we'd take him back in a heartbeat.

Klopp also used a ridiculously high line. They conceded a lot of goals for their first couple of seasons as the players got used to the system and they bought players who were appropriate for Klopp’s system.
Also do you think Klopp’s success was linear? You don’t think they had patches where they lost games and looked out of form?

i think postecoglou is a very decent manager but i kinda cringe at the start of the season when he was trying to be a darling to the media and especially taking side on referees. now that spurs form is sliding off a cliff he quickly changes his tune as well.

It makes no sense to plan the 23-24 season with just one tactic.
Even though all teams already figured out how to destroy us, they were not prepared.
It's not the players' fault. This is entirely the ange's fault. The tactic of not being able to defend against the opponent's counterattack by raising the line and opening up the space behind the defense even though there is no Udoggi is a really stupid tactic.

Spurs problems start at the top. Same guy making the same decisions each and every time. Ange will start next year and probably get to Christmas. The only way he survives is if his team is above Arsenal. But that’s not going to happen. Their transfer policy is predicated on doing it as cheap as possible. With few exceptions who leaves spurs and goes the top. For every bale there’s a Ali. For every modric there’s a dier.
From the outside spurs entire club plan seems to be “how do we match arsenal” under Daniel levy they have now got themselves infrastructure wise to where arsenal were in 2006. With massive debt. That’s all well and good but Arsenal, and football, have moved on. Martin keown said it on talksport: they are to concerned about what Arsenal are doing to have their own identity.
Levy will not change his policies which means the same failures that have occurred under his stewardship will happen again and again and Ange will get a few more weeks because he doesn’t court controversy and he is not going to be demanding transfer funds in public AND if he does he doesn’t hold the reputation and weight that Conte, Mourinho,AVB or ramos had.
