      @@Lee-vj2miand? Isak is head and shoulders above Watkins, and goals are the more important stat anyway. Hes got the best goals to games ratio in the league. Plus olly Watkins has had one good season, just like many players have done in the past, while isak has had world class potential for years now, and is getting better every season.

      With united winning FA and newcastle having no european competition to show for - the chance of Isak leaving has increased🎉
      Newcastle doesnt want to let him go but Isak can still force a move out. I'm a Newcastle fan and I can say this with certainty, the club's success in winning trophies is Miles away. At least 4-5 years. Unless there are major changes to how they can spend. Bruno and Isak are good players but they will be gone by the time the long awaited trophy arrives. I hope to god I'm wrong but I dont think I am.

    • @hqy2295
      @hqy2295 Před 22 dny

      4-5 years is way ahead of timeline .. even more ahead than man u and chelsea which i highly doubt so. It would be minimal of 6-7 years for the rebuild.
      Plus how can Isak be getting a pay cut of 20% making him earn 96k a week when Newcastle fail to qualify europe? Thats like trying to drive him out of the club and then offer him a new contract while other clubs are vying for his signature with better deals. The most beneficial thing for newcastle to do is to fully focus on the rebuild and sell Isak or guimares. Take the money and invest in long term prospects like Ramsdale,sesko, xavi simmons, jorrel hato , desire doue.. which is what Klopp did with Suarez and coutinho at liverpool.

    Would be a lot better to spend 100m on a midfilder to play alongside rice. Guimaraes or douglas luiz would be great. We can get sesko for £55m who is destined to be a top striker. I think the issue with sesko is when does he peak. If it takes him 2 seasons to really start popping off then arsenal might miss their window to win. They need a player ready to score 25+ goals in the epl.

    • @applenuts
      @applenuts Před 22 dny +1

      @@brianfuller4258 i don't agree that we need a striker who scores that many goals because our whole team scores lot's of goals. nketiah only scored 5 goals total. Sesko would definitely score more than that just starting 8 prem games and coming on as a substitute in other games for havertz. Havertz only started around 12 games or so upfront but yet has scored 13 prem goals that include just 1 penalty. If he was to start 30 games upfront its very reasonable to suggest he'd get 20 goals or very close to it which is top quality return especially as he dosen't take penalties.
      We scored 91 goals this season so with havertz starting upfront for most games and sesko as backup we can say we'd quite easily get 96 goals or more which is fantastic.

    Missing a bit of a point here which I notice a lot of pundits that support the traditional top 6 don’t factor in….
    The main reason City keep winning the league isn’t because their rivals like Arsenal or Liverpool aren’t any good or are weak it’s because City rarely drop points and consistently get to 90+ points
    So in other words City’s rivals nabbing key players from the likes of Newcastle, Villa, Brighton, West Ham is only weakening the kinds of teams that as a rival you’d be hoping will cause City to drop point during the season.
    Yes there’s the argument of if they can take points off City they can take points off you but the point is opens up the season a little more to a rival just getting their tactics better in those occasions to gain on City.
    Weakening other teams in the league isn’t going to help you get closer to City, you need City to be dropping points

I guess I'm still stuck in the past where I think "100m = SUPERSTAR" signing, whereas the reality is 100m for antony.
