I love tours with people who have lived in their tiny houses for years instead of months. They love them but have interesting ideas for what they would do different. This was great!!
So true! It’s always great to the perspective of an experienced tiny dweller and to hear what has or hasn’t worked for them 😊
Thank you! I have definitely gotten my money's worth out of this little house. It was fun doing this tour and thinking back to the build, because it really does seem like a lifetime ago.... :)
@@daniellepokorny3154 I love that you have the stained glass window that your grandmother made. That melted my heart, so special to have a part of loved ones in your home.
I literally clapped and yelled at the screen with happiness, when I heard this young lady say that because her teaching job was so stressful and rent rates had gone up, she knew she had to make this change, because too many people are stressed from work, climate change, inflation, etc but are stuck on these stressful jobs, because they're stuck paying high rent and mortgage. Good for her, for knowing when enough was enough. Beautiful home!
I like that Danielle is aware that she has a wonderful home in a gorgeous place with a little community of encouragement & support. She is aware & grateful for this time of her life. I am very happy for her. Gratefulness makes life better even through tough times. I love what she has created.
I hear of so many people with housing struggles that it is impossible for me to not feel grateful for my situation. And it definitely helps that I live in such a beautiful geographic location! Thank you so much for your nice comment :)

You are an awesome girl. You went to school,, realized teaching wasn't for you...I applaud you for giving it up. Building your own home and taking control of you and Frankie's life.
So wonderful to hear that a beautiful bright woman can work in service until she figures out what it is she wants to do.
Good luck in all of your endeavors, that's you and frankie!
Your Tiny home is Beautiful! I love all your eclectic designs. I was the Contractor for our 2025 Sq. Ft. open beam Cedar Home 22 years ago. I had never built a house in my whole life. I hired an Amish builder. My Husband and I touched every piece of wood in r house. I have decorated r home with flea market, garage sale, & auction items. My Husband built tables, dressers, & mirrors out of wood off r property. I have been thinking about building a Tiny home on my 18 acres in Ohio. Maybe downsizing. My Husband of 43 years passed May 23 2022. Love looking at Tiny homes & Tree Houses also. I also believe we need to have a smaller footprint for our environment. Who knows what my future may bring. Anyways LOVE your that u made your Tiny House a HOME.
Nice to see a long-term Tiny House dweller who is so down to earth. She seems to have her priorities straight, and her simple, stress-less lifestyle is inspiring. I love that her her home looks "real" and lived in, rather than a showcase. I've lived Tiny for nearly three years, and while I still enjoy getting ideas from others, my space never looks like it comes out of a magazine. It's my home -- well lived in and well loved! Cudos on this one, Christian & Alexis!
Excellent points! Appreciate hearing your perspective Jennifer ☺️✨
Well lived in and well loved indeed! Thank you Jennifer
Your dog is so so so so sweet.
He's the best boy
Wow! 6 years already. Love it that she is one of the pioneers of tiny living. Even when there were less resources back then, she made it happen!
Thank you! It really does seem like a lifetime ago that I built it 😀
It all started in 1997!
She certainly has a dream place to live in her tiny home, she is so lucky to have a great talented uncle .
Absolutely 😊✨
Really couldn't have done it without him!
lucky girl to have such an accommodating and useful uncle!
Seriously!
I'm so lucky!! He's the best
Danielle, your home is lovely and creative. Your dog is so well behaved and is a handsome boy.. I would like to encourage you to keep your teaching credential current. Usually about 7 years is when new requirements kick in. You never know what the future brings, medical insurance and a good retirement structure might be more valuable in years to come for you.
This is one of the more "real" videos without all the foo foos. Danielle seems like a very nice down to earth person and it's so great that she makes it work and it's very inspiring for people to go tiny.
She created a home she wanted from items others didn't want. Great job. She is bless to have an uncle who let her live on his land with her tiny house. She has good idea to build her home. It is good to change your life and save your health and sanity. Her house will always be hers. TEACH AND SHARE WITH OTHERS.
Franky looks like he loves his tiny house living just as much as his owner. You are inspirational.
What a beautiful little house - I love every bit of it, but especially the stained glass window and the branches used for stair rail and shelving. It was good to hear of some of the things that didn't work so well too - that's why I love hearing from people who've been in their tiny house for years rather than weeks or months, because they've really tested out their homes and know what works and what doesn't. And Frankie is so adorable xxx Thank you to Danielle for being willing to share her lovely home with us.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
My favorite part of this whole thing is that sweet dog. What a happy baby. She is undoubtedly such a great dog mom. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Congrats to this young woman for forging her own path in life!
I love it. It' Homemade, creative, artsy, and fun. She has also a nice outdoor space that fits. Thanks for sharing.
So happy to share! She really is creative and resourceful, like her uncle 😊
It is the first place I've lived in that's all mine, and has definitely been fun to make my own. It is always evolving with me. Thank you for your nice comment!
Beautiful and well thought out home. And let's take a moment to recognise how lucky you'd be to have such an uncle. Great work :)
SO lucky, could not have done with without him. Everyone needs an Unky Rod in their life!
@@daniellepokorny3154
sorry to wake you up sweetie but "climate change" is a huge scam. I'm in my sixties and I went trough MANY different climate scams since I was a young child: ice age, acid rain, hole in ozone layer, radiation from nuclear meltdowns and more to "global warming" (LOL!) and since they can't prove that they changed it to "climate change", lol!
Do you know what you and animals breath out? What do plants NEED for food to thrive? What do plants turn that food into that humans, animals and other life forms NEED to exist? Our governments are LYING to us! (I'm not even talking about the chemtrails "they" are spraying every day...)
BTW, your house: be VERY proud of it, it looks awesome!
While it's not my type of small tiny house and there is things I like and don't like, I think Danielle has done very well for herself and made it the way she wanted to and obviously very happy with it.
What a beautiful house. Frankie is handsome too.
He’s the best boy! ❤️
A v good boi indeed! Thank you :)
Perfect. It's a HOME in every sense. Just add a flag pole with a flag saying "I built this... What have you done?"... It's my all time favourite and I've been watching for a very long time! I hope you and your cuddly friend live happily for ever.
I love a tiny home built from reclaimed, reused, free and donated supplies. I love a lived in and make do home as well. It's so cozy!
Right?! So creative, character-rich, and feel good 😊
Awww... Frankie is so sweet and beautiful. Mum too
Lovely home, liking the rustic vibe, looks like a great place to live and well done for building your own home, TFS
Thank you, luckily I had a lot of help! :)
I absolutely love your cozy shingled tiny home with the gnomes guarding the front door, the shingle-shake exterior, and stained glass window. The naturally-landscaped yard with its fish pond, trees, potted plants, and hammock where you and your dog can snuggle is a plus. The interior is cozy and homey too with lots of windows and reclaimed cabinetry and woodwork. Enjoy! Jenny
She has the best gnomes! We aspire to create landscaping as enchanting as Danielle has 😊💖
Thank you, Jenny! I think the shingles add a sense of "whimsy", and yes, I may have a mild gnome obsession 😂
@@daniellepokorny3154 Hi Danielle: I've collected felted gnomes myself and even made one. Jenny
@@jennyfulcher8035 I love that!!!
Yeah, teaching can do that to you...completely burn you out and send you seeking simplicity. I love this home and how she used what she could find. I love that ethic and aesthetic. What a great life she's created for herself.
Cute house, love the cedar! Very nice decorative accents! The nice beaded sun catcher, does Danielle sell those? Cute dog too!
She doesn’t currently; hopefully in the future. 😁 We want to commission a sun catcher with airplane holder!
Thank you! I'm in the "exploratory" phase of my beading/jewelry making journey, mostly making things as gifts, but will hopefully open an Etsy shop eventually! :)
How wonderful that a young woman can build a house on her own, and it be affordable to live in. It reduces the stress of finding enough work to pay your bills. Her house is unique, homey and charming. Really well done! Good life choice. You did it and now are reaping the benefits.
I'm definitely reaping the benefits now! There were many times in the beginning that I doubted my decision, but now I'm just super grateful to my past self for building me this house. I had a lot of help though, particularly my Unky Rod. Forever grateful to him! Thank you for your nice comment, Janina :)
@@daniellepokorny3154 Unky Rod is a keeper! Everyone needs an Unky Rod! Pat your former self on the back for getting it done. And the cedar shakes are fabulous - and a pond, even! Beautiful! And the experience you gained is invaluable.🎉
Thanks. This gal is great and this tiny home is realistic.
I appreciate how you let the Tiny owners speak for themselves.
Your videos & editing are solid.
Thank you very much ☺️✨
Wonderful place..charming presenter
She is a charmer indeed 😉😊
Thank you :)
The rack hanging over the sink - smart idea ..
Mostly good, but sometimes things (mostly silverware) fall and scare me, and I get unreasonable pissed off haha.
Very cool. Not surprised her Artistic Uncle played a key role. He's a visionary. She did a nice job collecting repurposed products.
Sisters has been one of our favorite places to go for ages! It's a nice little town and I love the terrain very much. So needless to say, I'm a little envious. The house just reflects the owner so well! Its cozy and welcoming. Nice job!
Sisters and all of central Oregon really is magical 💖😊
It's a wonderful place to live!
Sweet space and Frankie is perfection.
What a lovely sensible young lady. I love her van and garden, really eclectic and looks so cosy
What a beautiful place Danielle has made for herself! I'm so happy for her to have gotten out of the rat race and can enjoy peaceful living, exploring the things that spark her interest. Beautiful home she has created! ❤️
Love this one particularly. I too am in a Tiny, on 1/2 acre and love the idea of a bigger area of the land with a smaller home. Spend 4-5 hours a day when I can on the land, plus it is so satisfying, grounding and peaceful. Thank you for this video.
I love that! I bet you have an awesome yard, too. As long as the weather's decent, I would almost always prefer to be outside.
Sounds wonderful! If you’re ever interested in collaborating on a tour video, please hit us up: tinyhouseexpedition.com/get-featured/ 😊
Love the property nice of your uncle to give you a hand , Your home looks much larger inside than out very cozy looking , rustic feel I love it
I absolutely love that this home is almost all recycled materials to make it completely unique and to be able to give new life to pieces is very resourceful.
It's like a fairy garden luv it
🧚♂️✨😊
Omg!! The minute I saw this it made me happy. I love it. Then I looked at those mountains and thought “wow that looks like central Oregon” and then u said u were in Sisters! We used to live in Bend. Love Sisters.we are singer songwriters from Austin and moved to Bend in 2005. We’ve played the sisters folk fest. Then we sold everything bought a motorhome went on the road to play music and now we’re looking at tiny houses! Thank you for your video!!😍😍😍I love ur philosophy and ur place is beautiful 😍
Your house is lovely, and you are happy. This is the important thing, and being out in nature is a plus. I live in a 100 year old stick build house, and at the time it was the only choice I had, it's been 12 years. I can truly say I have been happy here. Thanks for the tour.
Glad you found a home that works for you! 💕
I love 100 year old homes! So much charm and character. Not sure my tiny will make it that long 😂 Nature is the best healer. Thank you, Diane !
Hi Danielle! Miss you! Can't believe they didn't do this interview years ago. - Jason W
We actually did interview her years ago for another documentary project, but are so thrilled to finally show a tour of her awesome home! ☺️
I ❤️ Danielle’s gratitude for her peaceful life, cozy home, family, and her sweet pup. She has such appreciation and wisdom for a truly happy and fulfilling life. Tyfs!
Thanks for watching!
I like her a lot. Cutest dog ever.
Love that you based the slope of the roof on the shape of the window, that's my kind of decision making!
This house has so much personality! i love it!
It's really helpful to hear about people's shift from consuming careers, questioning whether the stress is worth it to "invest" in houses and live conventionally, to wanting to own and invest time in living; interesting too how we only gradually get to know ourselves and our priorities with that freedom to be quiet, explore and think, and try stuff. Thank you for sharing your pretty house, gardens and lifestyle!
Exactly! I love how you phrased that, "invest time in living". Depending on the job, 40+ hours a week of working doesn't offer up a lot of time to explore interests and hobbies, (unless of course you're one of the lucky ones that found a way to monetize what you love to do anyway). I always felt so drained after my work week, I would literally just lay around, take care of errands and chores, and go out drinking. I love that I never have to "recoup" after my work week or look for ways to escape, I just love my life now and so much time for adventures, and yes, just time to be quiet and think! Thanks for you comment :)
The Penny floor is so cool and I love those beaded creations. 💕
I love your bead hanging in your windows just the best. You did such a good job
Thank you! :)
Cozy, personalized space! 1.How do you maintain original color of your exterior shingles? 2. And, did you put a metal roof on your home? 3. Do you have well water? Thank you, in advance!
Thank you! After 6 or so years they definitely need restained! Before I put them up I dipped them in the stain and hung them from a clothesline to dry so they have front and back coverage, but they will need to be gone over again in the next couple of years. Yes it has a recycled metal roof and we use well water out here.
Perfect setup, love the turquoise kitchen, cute tiny❗️👌🌻
Great house. Love that she built this herself with her uncle! Well done!
Love your dog with the Marilyn Monroe mole
Lol, he actually just had that growth removed yesterday! He still looks like a model though :)
I hate having a mortgage we feel trapped here in Snoqualmie WA, so we have a lot in Cle Elum WA and I been trying to convince my husband to build a small home there. Love you home I can live in a tiny home. 👌🙂
We hope you get to built it! ✨😊

Thanks 🏡
Loved it, love her attitude! Wish I was her neighbor!
A tiny house golden rule: Always be nice to your neighbor! Because it you're not, they might report your tiny house 😂 Thanks, Jessica!
So true!! 😄
Love this place. I could totally live there.
❤️ your cute cozy home and Frankie
The yard is beautiful and your uncle seems great.
Restore is one of my favorite places.
Always find something great at the ReStore!
Very cute and quaint tiny home.
I can definitely see that it's her happy place.
Frankie seems to love it too.
Thanks for the tour.
I've been watching tiny homes for years and this is my all time favorite home
Wow; that is high praise! ❤️
Stuff or freedom, no contest!!!!
💯agree!
Danielle, love your tiny and your mindset about the world and sustainable living! Thanks for sharing!!
Beautiful, I love it ,maybe take your wheels off put them under the house & get an insulated skirt for around the bottom of your house for the winter, much warmer in winter & cooler in summer & they look nice👍✨️
Cute girl. Love exterior. Love location. Very resourceful in building materials.
I love your home, especially the jewels on the edge of the counter top. Thank you for sharing.
That's a lovely little home 👍
I’m going to be hanging the drying rack over my sink. I’ve seen variations on the idea but this just spurred me to do it . I also admire your found-wood used creatively with function. Your beads with grandma’s window surely cast a wonderful play of color and light. So many inspired pieces to your place. It’s nice to share your gratitude and good fortune. We had the heron ‘visit’ our suburban pond. Raccoons too. We stretched a net at some point. How wonderful to be in nature yet with community/family. Thanks for sharing.
The dog! Gorgeous and house isn’t too bad either!
How so cool...what a dream come true for you..BEAUTIFUL..your Smart....GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR HOME !!
Congratulations! You did a great job! 🌹
Thank you🤗
Cute home. She can still do a dormer or some kind of bump out in her bedroom. IT shouldn't cost to much, and be done start to finish in a weekend. Just adorable. SHE could have also put in a pocket door for her bathroom. Maybe one day. How ever the pop of color works just as well to. Again a cute home.
Thank you! Someday....it just feels like such a big project, having to redo the roof and ceiling, all the framing, insulation, flashing the skylight, painting 😱 I will definitely do it do the line if I decide to turn it into a short term rental, and am not living in it, because it's not very comfortable for taller people. But I'm a shorty so it's perfect for me, and that's all the really matters, right?! I would lose all of my built in storage in my bathroom and a shelf in my kitchen with a pocket door, but again, might consider it for a rental.
One of my favorites! I love the feel of your home all the character from repurposed materials and creativity.a
Beautiful outdoor space. Love your attitude and spirit as well.
What a beautiful home you have created!!! I love it!!! Sending you light, love, peace, joy and abundance always! I love you.

I love the layout and I like the idea of reclaimed materials to build your home , gives a little character to the home and what a great way to save money on building cost , I love this home.
It’s a win-win ☺️
Reclaimed materials add so much character! And better for the environment 🌎
Adorable!! Great job! It is so beautiful! The home, pond, it all!! I am the same, less house, more property. Frankie! What a cutie patootie!
