I have two half groats of Edward III and Henry VII, but I don't have any full groats. I mostly collect Roman imperial but I have a small but growing collection of medeival hammered coins. And watching your videos always makes me more excited to keep collecting hammered coins!! Keep up the great work!
Great vid as always. I found four Groats within a 8 metre squared area in June this year. A likely purse spill. Surrendered them to Oxford FLO and now waiting on a full ID. Three Henry with different busts and an Edward IV.
I enjoy these vids, one day I plan to invest in a few examples. I want to be fully informed and confident in my purchase, and would need some literature on the topic as well. Thank you for the content.
I only have one, a heavily clipped Henry VI first coinage of 1422 - 1429 with Pellets and London mint. The coin is over 30% clipped weighing just 41 grains!
Ah, the half-groat; everyone's second favourite coin worth 2 pence, after the 1797 cartwheel twopence.

Groats are my favorite, they have very good and details on them. Everything has an important meaning in the design

I’ve heard they found an Edward Nobel at decteor fest 👍🏽😊
Another enjoyable vid Luke. I’ve only ever found one medieval groat (H6 Calais annulet) but have had a few half groats👍
I must have found over 50 hammered coins but still no medieval groat!
Hi there. What can you tell me about a Groat of Edward IV Coventry Mint please ?
How do I know what king it is
How do I know it’s Edward III
