I'm am SO HERE for this redemption arc ZeRo is on! It brings me so much joy to see zero happier and in this more positive place. He was my introduction to the esports scene towards the end of sm4sh. Even though I have discovered a lot of new content creators since then, I have never come across another person who I enjoy watching more than Zero.
He actually helped me save years of my life. Prior to covid, I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day. Then, I moved on to chain smoking 50mg salt nicotine out of a vape whenever I had the chance. 2 weeks into quarantine, I attempted to quit nicotine for the 400th time. At that time, zero started his playthrough of FF7 remake and FFX.
Quiting cold turkey was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. Its almost impossible to describe. I sat there losing my mind, trapped in a hell that felt never ending. You can't remember what normal life is supposed to feel like. Every day feels like a new shapeshifting reality. Every train of thought or course of action somehow magically ends at nicotine. As your brain goes through its nornal processes, through logic, all roads lead to a cigarette or a vape. My solution: think nothing and do nothing.
When it comes to beating addiction, it all comes down to time. How long can you say NO. The only thing that kept me sane was meditating while zero took me on a ride with through his Final Fantasy adventures and escapades. If it weren't for Zero, I would never have been able to conquer my addiction. I've been clean for 3 years in spite of living with someone who smokes 2 packs a day. I have no desire to go back and never will.
I am so grateful for Zero. I'm so happy to see him come back healthier than ever and actively trying to make a positive impact on the world again. He changed my life. I know he still has the power to help others too.

In the court of law; the TO’s decision to ban a player for simply participating in your tournament would be dismissed.
The player is not doing anything illegally, nor did he commit a crime or have suspicion in scheming. So there would be no root of negligence to attach to that player. Clearly these are individuals biased towards you running tournaments and it would be considered unlawful in the court of law.

i would love to see a interview at the end of the tornement with the winner and asking questions like how they felt they were doing and asking about other players they were seen that was great and fun to play vs etc.

I’ve seen and experienced bad TOs abuse their power for the “sake of the communities safety” and end up making unneeded, and more often worse decisions just cause someone doesn’t fall in line, or like what someone follows, thinks, and even some people they interact with.
Majority of the community has a problem with their emotions, and can’t seem to leave theirs out of important decision making.
Just cause people want to interact or support you zero, doesn’t make them the bad guy, everyone has reasons to justify their whys on any subject or matter whether or not we agree with their reasonings.

I absolutely love the direction your going with your channel the only wacky idea for the tournament would be amiibo or doubles
The 3 vs 3 or 5 vs 5 with different chars carrying stocks is also interesting for a small tourney with 8 entrants or so (so it wouldn't be hella long). Would benefit more people that are not carried by a char or two.
But an amiibo tournament or a CPU tournament ala Alpharad would also be entertaining.

Hey man, I am happy you made a comeback on youtube and I enjoy watching your videos. I feel like you' re doing the right thing by keeping your tournaments alive, even if you receive negative feedback from time to time, people will be people. I have a suggestion as well... Elegant seems to be off the map right now for reasons I won't write about here, and to be honest I don't know enough about the facts, but I feel he could be a nice guest to have on your channel and it could potentially help him recover. Just an idea like that.

The players who get threaten to get banned if they play in your tournament should make secret alt accounts and play. They can communicate with ZeRo in private to set things up.
I hate that you and Nairo seem to be at war. I feel like Technicals really facilitated that by releasing a Ban Nairo video then a Welcome Back ZeRo video back to back. Seemed to be a clear agenda and certain screenshots indicated collusion there which probably was a bad look in his camp. Just wish we could all just get along I’m a fan of both 😢

If that's the case, what difference does it make between the actual TOs and Orgs in the current Smash scenes and criminal mafias?
I mean, yes, they aren't powerful nor move any illegal substances, but they're the same in menacing thirds involved into harming them (in this case, their carrer and reputation) if they don't follow orders.
And that's where this becames depressing, especially when the new members of the community or the most influenciable ones have that wish in becoming a Pro Smash player or being someone in the scene are threathened by these figures (not just a player, but a commentator, TO or any other important role).
Some of those may say: "It's because there should be consecuences, it's part of life". But the menaced can also think: "There's also consecuences for you, too".
That's plain intimidation and people need to understand that being a pro-gamer isn't that profitable unless you do something original that none others like HBox, Maximillian or even Mr Beast has done.

It seems like these kind of smaller-scale tournaments that are put on by individuals and funded out of pocket is the future of professional smash. Hopefully this can grow into something cool!

Also, petition to steal the name from the Mario Maker community and name ourselves "The Banned Wagon" xD Since, well, many people who support this are banned and many, many others are afraid to get banned if they do so. What do y'all think?
Also, i'm all for second chances. Denying that would mean, for example, our whole penitenciary system is useless, it's all supposed to be about reinsertion in the community/society. But TO's and top players exert too much preassure for that to happen, sadly

Here's an idea that you've had before I'm sure: Jake "NoRegerT" Umpleby used to run these "anonymous" tournaments in SC2. While he did reveal the people when they were defeated, you could just not do that. I don't know how easy it is for people to be recognised by play style, but it might be worth a try?

Sometimes in life ppl mess up. And sometimes ppl mess up a lot. But instead of looking at bad things a person did, people should realize when an individual is trying their best to change and become a better person. Everyone only remembers the bad thing a person did. No one likes to be remembered for their mistakes. So ppl should rlly try to see zero's change rather than hop on a hate train just because that's whats trending.

There wasn't enough evidence to even convict zero, he's not fully in the clear but it has improved afterwards and you can still like Him while condemning his actions and the Zero hate existed even before the allegations came out

I'm not at all surprised to hear something like this is going on with TOs and sponsors, so at this point I'm kind of just waiting to see the whole community as it is blow up and burn. I'm glad you're still doing what you're enjoying despite all that.
Thug finals are always hilarious, and kind of on that note, figuring out some kind of juggernaut/raid boss mode as a side event could be fun. The lone player would come up with some kind of op spirit setup to fight the three. I'd be happy to sling money toward a pot for that, not sure how that would work, maybe champs fight it out to become the raid boss for another time, and if they win they get the pot, if the three challengers win they split the money? It needs work but it's an idea I've had for a while that could possibly be made into something interesting.
My greatest aspiration is to see your tournaments grow to a point where they're so successful that they're generating more buzz than the MLG tournaments.

Was once motivated to compete competively i spent massive amount of time learning every tech with peach/zss. Due to the overall negativity, constant downward spiral of character opinions, bad t.o. decisions, and the overall poor choices by at this point seems like most the community, my overall interest in competing is gone, its more enjoyable to just switch to those characters when i play serious with friends.

I don't think we are going to get another smash game, at least not for many years and chances are the devs will be different, for better or for worst. I've just been hearing alot of "oh, well, when the next one comes" kind of stuff, and I really really don't think that's on the table in any capacity at the moment.

One of these days it'll be better for them to be a part of your tournament than the tournaments of the people that hate.
Zero, it's possible that it's a bit of a "fear" game. I.e. everyone is afraid of what everyone else thinks, but in reality no one actually cares.
Now maybe those sponsors have privately stated otherwise, or established that kind of precedent - but if they haven't, then I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that sponsors are the issue.
Another option to consider is inviting participants who aren't beholden to sponsors, like other CZcamsrs or Twitch streamers. (Definitely a great way to stick it to them if need be!)
And of course, large prize pools and publicity are always strong motivation for people to overcome whatever mental obstacles might be there.

ZeRo I don’t think you should embrace the banned culture, I think you should try to be the one that paves the way for banned people to make a comeback. Like you said, eventually through your positive influence people will feel more and more able to join your tourneys.
Banned doesn't mean gone, after all. But usually these bans (especially long term/life time bans) usually come from stating and standing for what you believe. It's what people are afraid would happen to them if they compete here, after all. So in a sense, the "Banned Wagon" of smash is something peculiar that doesn't really mean you're a bad person.
I'm with you. I think Zero makes good content, and I don't think he should be forbidden from making CZcams videos and tournaments. Hopefully he never again repeats the mistakes he made in the past and, from the uneducated outside, it looks like he did make a big effort to improve himself. I fully support that.
All that being said...yeah, he got banned for a legitimate reason. Ignoring the hypocrisy of how long he was banned versus others with imo much worse accusations, Zero still fucked up majorly so he's not a completely innocent victim. Embracing the banned status kinda feels like he's saying that he did nothing wrong which would be a disappointing stance. I'd rather he move forward with a positive message and be an example of how to grow from times when you've been in the wrong, rather than anything that can be looked at as celebrating your previous bad behavior.
I'm assuming Zero is going to take a more positive outlook so I'll continue to watch/subscribe/like. But I do hope he knows that he doesn't have to accept to black hat just because the more vocal internet people want him to do so.
@@shawn9210it sounds to me like you are taking the stance that he still did something wrong to begin with. The wrong thing he did was choosing to let the accusations win and not fight them. He later fixed that by taking legal action and since the other side had no evidence, the case was dropped.
Embracing the ban only means he can't change people's minds. Which is true. People who would insist he messed up will never change their mind on that. So he chooses to keep fighting because he knows he didn't. He isn't trying to grow from his mistakes. He's getting better and stronger mentally so that people could stop pushing him around. He's finally standing up for himself when he was too scared to do it before.
Not all banned people should come back some of them 100% deserve to be and stay banned
