  • One would think that the 2-minute solo harmonica tunes would be easy, but nooo. This one took lots of takes, lots of rehearsing, switching to Chromonica and a shot of whiskey.
    This one was per request by a couple watchers, based on the official harmonica version of the song tho I tabbed it myself anyway. I haven't played Trails in the Sky, but that's been also recommended. Maybe when I get bored of Medieval II mods.
    Instrument: Hohner Super Chromonica 270 Deluxe, a chromatic harmonica in C

    Just as the brightest light casts the darkest shadow.
    If you stayed with me, you'd find out just how disgusting my true nature is...
    Sometimes, I think it would have been better if we'd never met...
    But this time is different,
    I'm grateful that you came to see me. I hate that I have to run from a girl who's so important to me, but it's all I can do...
    But I want you to know that I'll always be thinking of you.

    always been a fan of the Trails series!
    I've actually played this song with my gf. She rly felt touched.(*** lol I went full Joshua[one of the MCs who played this tune with his heroine/gf/step sister Estelle ] with this tune)IMO it's actually one of the very few ideal songs to serenade a woman with a harmonica. I guarantee 99.99% to all my friends that this song in particular will do the trick, even though harmonica is not the ideal instrument to woo a woman.
    Thx a lot for showing me the tabs a while back!!!!!!!

    "Whereabouts of the Stars" is the most correct translation of the original japanese title (Hoshi no Arika) while "Whereabouts of the Light" was the official translation of the title in the english version of the game.

    • @RaatoHarmonica
      @RaatoHarmonica  Před 6 lety +2

      Rednell The tone was simple to replicate as the og harmonica tune was likely played with a similar chromatic harmonica, or tremolo harp in standard key. The biggest pain was keeping the feel and pace as I have a horrible sense of timing and rhythm without the backing track. ^^'

      Chromatic harmonica tabs follow different numbering, since it has a different scale of notes. It's possible to transcribe them to other harmonica models by, for example, comparing note charts, that you can easily find via google search.
      Personally I dont know much about these kinda things since I write all my tabs by ear and based on my personal preferences, so theyre not always even comparable.

      Over summer I've been gradually retiring Chrometta for secondary use like rehearsing and tabbing and started recording videos with Chromonica, which has a better sound anyway.
