Anyone whose hearing this for the first time, give Trails a chance. Trust me, you wont regret it.
I cried when i first heard the song, even though i barely understood it in Japanese, but now when i heard this video, saw the lyrics, and the way you sing it, i cried. This game series has made me appreciate the importance of stories. For those who haven't played yet i highly recommend this series, you will love it.

This song was both heartwarming and a punch to the gut at the same time. Heartwarming in that we got to see the formation of the bond between Joshua and Estelle, and how we saw Joshua regain his innocence and happiness as Estelle brought him back to reality. A punch to the gut in that we are watching this knowing the pain that awaited both of them five years after the time those pictures were taken.
I hope you get to sing the other Trails/Kiseki songs in the future. You have one of the most elegant voices I've ever heard.

You captured Estelle's feelings VERY WELL as evident by her opening scene in SC where she breaks T_T

Yeah I can say exactly the same thing. If you replaced this with the regular song it would go perfectly with the game. This takes nothing away from the original singer in fact its a testament to how great they both are.
If you never played kiseki/trails do so, i'd say it's of the best written jrpgs since Suikoden and any game by Yoko taro.
The amount of detail in the world and character development is staggering for a jrpg let alone a game.
Of course it's not perfect in writing, but it's one of the best executed in tropes and telling a consistent world and story throughout 9 games of three arcs (liberl= sky trilogy, crossbell= zero and ao no kiseki and erebonia= cold steel arc.)
you make it sound as if JRPGs tend to have little world/character develop.
I think what op was trying to express is that most jrpgs have amazing stories, BUT the kiseki series just has amazing depth, even within a genre that is know for amazing depth.
The Trails games has become my favorite games ever.
They have novels that connect the world, newspapers, history books, science books, politics, separate but internoected stories, they really go all out in developing the story of the Zemurian contenent.
@@Cman04092 They have connections from world building in the first game that don´t show up until the latest and it doesnt feel forced or unplanned, it seems intentional
Honestly, this song has so much meaning to me from playing the game and just the whole series in general. I thank you from the bottom of my heart from making this cover so beautiful.
a lot of the kiseki games are easy to come by nowadays on steam, so give em a try!
There's a lot that is isn't including the evo versions
Trails in the Sky Trilogy and Trails of Cold Steel Quadrilogy are the only ones on Steam (ToCS IV out March 2021 for PC)... the ones featuring Lloyd Bannings and the SSS isn't, and neither is Ao No Kiseki.
The only ones that I lack are the crossbell unlocalized games

estelle is my fav female protag in literally any game aaaaaaaaah,,, i play for story tho i do admit gameplay can be a bit.. tiring at times kfhsdfh in sky, but only bc theres so much foot travel and no proper turbo mode in the original psp games? battle system is top 3 though for sure owo! the trails series as a whole is 2nd only to shin megami tensei for me honestly ; V ;!! cs3 is coming out west before the end of 2019 and im so hype OAO! more relevantly tho ksfdhshdf this cover is fANTASTIC as usual..!

Trails aka my fav everything. Thank you for making this , it sounds beautiful. To all those who are interested in a great story with NPCs that have story arc for multiple games, I highly recommend this series. Lemme put it this way, falcom has an actual book just to keep up with the stories of their NPCs, that's how detailed the writing is.
Wait, there is an actual physical book? How do i not know about this!?!? I love the Kiseki series, im even currently playing through Japanese versions of zero and azure next with english patches because just watching lets plays for the story details wasn't good enough!

Trails in the Sky 1 was one of the best cliffhanger that I've see. Sad despite the victory.
And the 2 had a very fulfilling end.
I really loved the cold steel and Zero/Azure but I think that the Trails in the SKy might still be my favorit.
Even as an heroine, Estelle is still my favorit. I really like Lloyd and Rean (especially since cold steel 3) but Estelle is the MC that impress me. I can't help but remember her fight against Walter, where she is about to sacrifice herself to protect those who are dear to her or when she broke Luciola's spell. Trap in a really sweet and heartwarming dream (best trap ever, really that's really clever, I don't know how many person would resist it) she decide that she want to go back, accept her mother's death once more and affirm her own goal and desire. That was really impressive.
She even save Joshua, Rennes and Loewe (well, Loewe was more like Anakin here) from their darkness.
Wish the harmonica wasn't so prominant. It competes with your voice. Great overall, though I wish you had a non-harmonica version so I could focus on your lyrics.
