TYPES OF HARMONICA

  • This Video introduces different types of Harmonicas based on their construction. The Tremolo - good for beginners and kids
    The Diatonic - good for BLUES, JAZZ not for bollywood songs as a beginner as you will need to buy many keys and have to learn advanced techniques such as Bending, etc. to play majority of bollywood songs.
    The Chromatic - good for all types of music, it is a bit advanced instrument compared to the other 2 types.
    For all beginners I recommend the Key of C in any harmonica.

    When my Grandfather escaped from Burma during ww2 he took his harmonica along with him since it's the only lightweight thing he could carry ( they dropped all the silver coins coz they were too heavy). It was passed on to me because my father and mother have no clue of music but i play intermediate level of guitar and I'm used to building scales out of thin air. After seeing this video I just discovered this allegedly 80 year old harmonica with Burmese engravings on it is a tremolo Organ locked in Cmajor, that's why it sounded so cheerful and happy whenever my grandpa played it. Thanks for the info.

    Which Hohner tremolo harmonica is better : Ocean star or Big valley ? Please suggest. Thank you sir.

    • @siddpandya
      @siddpandya  Před 3 lety +2

      Big valley is the Richter tuned harmonica, which is a standard tuning available in across brands!! My opinion it's better between the two. Thank you!

    • @siddpandya
      @siddpandya  Před 2 lety

      Dear Russell, it's a good harp for many bollywood songs. I suggest you start with it but then start exploring diatonic and chromatic for increasing your range of songs which you can play in future. Thank you!

      Dear Mr. Chatterjee, I believe the best way to get hold of hohner harmonica is through their website or their distributor i have also ordered a couple of hohner online and they have been good. Just do due diligence in terms of seller and authenticity before buying. Wish you good luck!!!

    pandyaji, why you are not recommending three brands of tremolo harmonica. we know you are not getting anything from any brand owner .But think of beginners like us who will get some better brand and save money instead of picking any Tremolo. sir, your image will be fine .

      Dear Sanjay, I recommend the Hohner ocean star and the suzuki 24 student for the tremolo from what I have used. Have others in the similar budget which are not great. And there are some which I wish to try out as they have good reviews such as golden melody by hohner and some tremolo from sydel. Thank you. Suzuki 24 student is my go to tremolo. Thank you
