5 students per week commit suicide in Canada. Ask yourself why before running to the land of milk and honey. Don’t fall for that grass is greener nonsense. Don’t waste lakhs and crores to find out you made a himalayan mistake. If ordinary Canadians are struggling to survive, what magic do you have? Don’t be another pawn in the game. No universities promise students a job when they finish university. Canadian students are not promised jobs either. When you finish university it's all up to you to seek out and find a job. Period. These sound like entitled rich kids whining that nobody handed them a prized job when they finished school.

Yes indeed!! The education hopefully provides you with better opportunities but guarantees nothing in the way of employment! Choose wisely. There are many forums that identify what employment sectors are growing and in need of staff. Even when I went to university, just before I completed my undergrad studies the government cut back on many of the jobs in my field. Needless to say, I was now entering a more competitive work force with many of the competitors having actual experience. Eventually had to shift gears and direct my interests in a related avenue.

Housing in Canada outside of university is only available in "Basements" which is 7 ft below ground with very little ventilation and no proper air circulation. The heating would not be proper as the Cold is extreme in basements. Basements earlier in Canada are used to be for recreation rooms etc but with housing crisis everyone started renting basement with no proper entry/exists and no proper heating etc. 90% of them are illegal. Now even basements are not available :). Until 2020 (pandemic), most lifelong Canadians would have proudly & quickly said Canada is a great place. For multiple generations (young & old). It still is in many ways. But like all countries, a bunch of things have made life more difficult lately.
During the COVID lockdowns, many people in apartments (or major cities) went wild wanting to buy homes everywhere (urban & rural). Increasing demand and rising prices. Not long after, inflation caused mortgage rates especially to rise. Rent costs have soared too.
People interested in working in hospitals declined. Less doctors etc..
Simultaneously in Canada, the number of people coming by air, land and boat to claim asylum SKYROCKETED. For example, in 2023 alone, in just one region (Ontario) around 300 people arrived per day (on average). Ditto for other populated provinces. Also the number of international students skyrocketed too. Averaging around 1,000 per day in 2023 alone.
Hospitals then hit with many wanting free healthcare. Less doctors/nurses etc., means greater waiting times.
A severe housing crisis has occurred in many western countries including in Canada. In ways not seen in people's lifetimes.
The majority trying to migrate to Canada recently have been from South Asia. And it's become extremely obvious to Canadians. Even those that are very used to much diversity & many cultures. Neighborhoods now know that most international students are primarily seeking a ticket to come to Canada for PR. No one says it in public amongst strangers, but everyone knows because they've witnessed the extreme PR frenzy firsthand by now.
Bottom-line. Now westerners want greedy people in other countries to stop marketing/lying to their own people about access to PR or citizenship ... or accommodation/jobs ... being easy (to get). And for greedy westerners in the mix to be ashamed of themselves for hurting students.
Not all players across the board have acted honestly over the years, i.e. false asylum claims, contract marriages (IELTS spouse), anchor babies, fraud. 'Agents' doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires or desperation. Canada has asked the India government to prevent “ghost consulting”. Private colleges are being investigated. Some not respecting Canadian ways (harmony).
Then this year throw in all the Palestinian vs Israeli angry protests happening regularly in cities. Plus the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortion primarily happening in Ontario and BC. Plus the Canadian government also recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections. All stemming from Asia continent. Hate crimes have gone from rare to occasional.
Canadians are not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now worried and fearful (due to all of the above). And all are praying it doesn't turn into great anger (like in the USA).
Canadians want multi-culturism to succeed … and for all people to be okay. Everyone I know is HAPPY with Canada Immigration's recent changes (reductions). Including multi-generation long-term Asian Canadians.

Canada has great opportunities for students graduated from reputed institutions especially for graduate students. You don’t expect to get a job with a 1 or 2 years college certification or diploma. It doesn’t work that way. Even with a graduate degree you need some kind of co-op experience to get into a job. Good students from good universities always get good jobs (with co-op experience). No one will hire someone graduated from an unknown college without co-op experience. The bottom line is Candidates from less prestigious colleges with limited or no Canadian experience may face challenges in securing a job. This applies to all countries not just Canada!

Canada and the colleges did not promised you a job that is not true. You have to show that you have at least $50,000 to back you up when you come in Canada as an international student, and you go to the food bank, or the soup kitchen ???? Food banks are not for international students, you are expected to be able to support yourself not the Canadian systems or tax payers. You are supposed to be here to study not to work. There is plenty of dorms available at CBU you don't want to pay for it, don't blame it on the system.

@@frankfanning6341 I believe that visas were granted to international students by the Canadian government when they applied to come to Canada. Therefore, it is difficult to believe that the government was unaware of what was happening. The government misled international students by falsely promoting the "Canadian dream" and using it as a means of financial gain. The idea of multiculturalism seems to be a façade as I have studied in both Canadian universities and colleges, and I did not see any domestic students in my classes. This brings up the question of whether Canadian higher education institutions are not competitive enough, or if they are designed solely for international students to generate significant tuition fees and contribute to the country's ailing economy.
The fact that university dignitaries visited India to offer admission to students suggests that either the schools did not have enough domestic students or the government was not providing enough funding. Additionally, you mentioned "ghost consultants," or fraudulent agents who convince international students to study in Canada. These agents receive hefty commissions from public or private colleges, and students are unaware of whether they will qualify for post-graduation work permits or not. In short, it is easy to point fingers at others, but we must remember that when we do so, three fingers are pointing back at us.
Finally, many international students are struggling to return home as their money is trapped in Canada.

I might agree with the poor government management but the rest is some entitled hogwash. Any student that goes abroad for their education pays far more tuition than if they had stayed in their homeland. That is YOUR choice. I, as a Canadian, would also have to pay MUCH more tuition abroad than I would here in Canada. Jobs to "give" them. Not even Canadians are guaranteed jobs for which they COMPETE. No one is GIVEN a job. No graduate is GUARANTEED a job. Success in achieving employment in a given field depends on many things including demand. For instance: How many culinary jobs do you think there are and how much on average do you think they pay?? Research is key to determining the likelihood of finding employment. Is it the Canadian government that has lied and deceived international students or your own countrymen finding a lucrative scam where you pay them to get you into a program here in Canada without knowing what kind of educational institute you are getting into - no doubt, there are numerous "business colleges" that exist here in Canada which have poor standards. Most companies will not hire from these colleges. Only advice to anyone world wide considering post secondary education: DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!

Sadly all routes to the West are based on citizenship not education or any other fictitious criteria. Have personal experience of a relative who used the MBA route without passing her school grades. Paid crooked lawyers in the U.K. To gain citizenship for the whole family. Many lawyers in the U.K. Especially foreign origin take huge bribes as they know Indians Pakistanis Bangladesh Sri Lanka will pay just to stay out of poverty. Even security jibs or super market jobs with a steady income are preferable to their countries middle class jobs. Too many outsourcing of jobs where 3+ layers of middle men are pocketing as much as possible. Have seen Indian men working at child nurseries which is taboo in India.
