Lakhs of Indian students who plan on pursuing higher education in Canada are in the wait-and-watch mode with diplomatic relations between the two counties plummeting to new depths following Ottawa’s allegation of New Delhi’s involvement in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
India has rejected the allegations as “absurd” and “motivated” and expelled a senior Canadian diplomat in a tit-for-tat move to Ottawa’s expulsion of an Indian official. India has also suspended visa services for Canadians.

I have been in Canada for 10 years, my observations are -
    - Canada is not easy, either as a beginner or even for an experienced professional.
    - Changing jobs will take 5 to 10 months, so everyone just hangs on to their jobs like dear life! This severely impedes career aspirations!
    - Every family needs 2 decent incomes.
    - Bring money and buy real estate as early as possible, else saving / building wealth will be slow.
That said, if you are one of the millions like me, who decided to settle here in-spite of all this, and somehow managed to get ahead, life is good!
Also If you are well settled in India, NEVER come here and start fresh, unless you are hounded by NIA of course! 😂

@@smwk2017sure what I meant was opportunities are so little beyond a point. If you want Senior leadership/ management roles, it’s almost impossible to keep changing every 3 years or so like they usually do in the US. Here it may take 8 months to 1 year to even find a new opportunity! So growth is really slow!

Well if you’re going to a private college you can expect this outcome. Private colleges are only there to make money. Canadians do not study in private colleges - these are designed just to attract international students by business men who are focused on just collecting tuition fees. Also, majority of these private colleges are owned and operated by people of Indian origin because they know there’s a demand in Indian to study abroad. These individuals target Indian students.

Hello everyone...I've been to Canada, and back in South Africa, a failed immigrant,I'm a finance professional. The country is inviting thousands especially from the subcontinent so they bring and burn all their savings in Canada. Its not about how hard it is or how quickly you can get into Canada. Its about what you will do there. There are simply not enough jobs for skilled educated workers , its ok for meat cutters and other blue collar jobs who have nothing to lose, but not for qualified professionals. It's a harsh, unwelcoming country where Ex professionals from India end up driving taxis. My advice...if you are a professional degreed worker in India, Please do NOT move to Canada unless you have a confirmed job offer or have done your research. If you are in tech industry then there are fair enough of chances you can get decent job .... but for rest like Baker course . Or some diploma course life is little challenging.
But the good part is once you cross the struggle of 2-3 year .... you can get PR and can start business very easily

My son is Canadian born and educated and has a degree from the best University in Canada. He found a job after many months of looking and the job he got underpaid him. After few months he got laid off and has been unemployed for 8 months now. The only jobs are minimum wage and to get those there are long lines to get an interview. Just today a retail store job opening had a 2 mile long line and over 3 hours wait to be interviewed. The store was looking for only 5 part time workers and there must have been hundreds in line for this minimum wage part time job. This is the reality of Canada under 8 years of Trudeau and lately his enabler Jagmeet Singh who is holding up Justin trudeau minority government. I wanted to share our viewpoint with your viewers. Please stop bashing Canada because it is hard here. The Canada dream has never been a cakewalk! My grandparents immigrated here from Europe 60 years ago. They were 40 years old, with 3 kids and with zero English. My grandfather found a job working on the railways. They rented a small apartment for 10 years until they had enough to buy a house. My grandpa had it hard. We owe everything to him ❤
All 3 of their kids have done well in Canada. All the grandkids have done well in Canada.
Before moving to Canada you need to ask yourself the question… how bad do you want it? You can make it work, but it won’t be easy. Your kids and generations to come will thrive here. But it will be tough on you. A lot of ppl don’t find their ideal jobs here. So don’t be disappointed that you can’t do exactly what you want to do at first. It’s never worked that way. But Indian students are already at an advantage because they speak the language. Everything takes time. Nothing is easy. Make good choices with what you study. Look at where there is demand.
The biggest advice I have is, stay away from the big cities or anywhere near them. I’m a Canadian and I wouldn’t even dream of living near Toronto or Vancouver. You and I are priced out of that market. Move to cities like Winnipeg or Edmonton. With a little hard work, you can buy a house there and have a good life without huge financial stresses. Good luck!

You know what? I'm just putting this out there. If you're a foreign student who can afford to study abroad you're not suffering as badly as some Canadian born people who have to take out exorbitant student loans just to go to university. There are MANY Canadian citizens that cannot afford college/ university, or are working many hours while trying to keep up with their studies. A foreign student shouldn't just show up without securing a place to live and then cry they're homeless and blame Canada. Rural Canadians or Canadians studying in a different city don't just show up at university without securing where they'll live first. Shouldn't foreign students secure a place to live BEFORE coming to Canada? If you cannot afford your studies AND your living accommodations in another country, then( not to be rude here) but you can't afford to study abroad and that is not the fault of the country one wishes to study in. It's a little insulting to those born in canada who can't afford to go, yet all of these foreign students CAN afford tuition that is even higher than Canadians pay, and then here all of this complaining from "wealthy- enough- to- travel -to another- country- to- study"" privileged kids. Please stop.

Not only that many well settled families are returning, thinking carefully to return and our group is one of them. College is just waste of time and it won’t take or lead anywhere, all you’ll do is spend all the money and go back empty handed. Do not make bad decision and never ever underestimate opportunities that are in India, western countries show you fairytale to others but inside story is just opposite. As a Canadian, a mother of college and university students, I can say with absolute truth, schools here love foreign students due to the much increased dollar values for tuition etc. To ensure foreign students and the extra money, they give automatic passing grades and even honor roll grades, even if the student doesn't speak a word of English and ignore obvious cheating during exams and assignments throughout the courses. This is completely unfair to other students but also to employers who hire said students and then discover that they really don't have any understanding of the course curriculum even though they now do speak a few words of English here and there. This is why many employers now are reluctant to hire foreign students and the blame falls back onto the schools and of course, the government, who knowingly allow this to happen.

This is true for south asians, middle eastern/North African people, Latin Americans, East Asians, Africans, etc. It was much more difficult for these previous immigrants who faced more discrimination and couldn’t find their local foods (no Walmart etc), places of worship and so on. India is a great country in many ways - many people who have returned to India after studying / working in foreign countries , has found it out BUT the govt. needs to speed up manufacturing , industrialization and infrastructure building - so that a higher white color economy ( for culinary students , pharma students , hospitality , health care work , construction , marketing ) which goes hand in hand with the levels of industrialization of a place - can absorb these guys . Most students go to Canada to study these subjects ( they also go to NZ and Australia to study them ). A very small group of research/PHD students go -.
Those people of Indian origin who work in companies like Google , Amazon , Microsoft , are mostly Intra -company transfers . They rarely go as students if ever , these days. Also these people are mostly in the US or Ireland , where the tech industry is far more developed than places like Australia , Canada , NZ .
Lets be realistic . We will never be able to provide every student with the highest level of opportunity - so they have to travel to Europe , US and other places .
Nothing wrong in it - Even today Chinese students go everywhere from Europe to US to Canada to Australia to NZ .
But as a student , one should know what one is getting into and make smart choices . There were many red flags about Canada in terms of lack of jobs , lack of big industries etc. The ONLY reason some people as so desperate to get to Canada is NOT because of study but the PR .
Now the choice is simple - If your target is to study , make yourself industry ready and gain skills for you to hold down a tech job or a marketing / finance / pharma / engineering job - then choose a country with a low budget for studying and don't be afraid to come back to India to look for a "proper job " in your chosen field . If your luck is good then you should be able to bag an intra company transfer to a good role in a so - called advanced country overseas .
BUT don't stick around for years and years , trying your hand at pizza delivery or cleaning jobs and then somehow trying to get PR and settle down in that way there . Even if you get your PR after a few years - you will have been stuck in the low end jobs for so long that you will have lost many years of your life - lost your skills , and basically ruined your career after that . That is a huge loss for a student.

Do you offer alternative perspectives on this issue? The Canadian government has been very favourable toward Indian students/immigrants compared to the rest of the world. Many older sourh Asian immigrants who arrived in Canada in the 1960s/70s/80s worked extremely hard, built up communities, and integrated. So many Indian students immigrate here today without actually doing proper research. Many flood service sector jobs, and then fail to integrate. They stick to each other. I’ve been to Walmarts, Tim Hortons, McDonalds etc across Canada, and every single time I see Indian immigrants who are likely students giving attitude to the customers and speaking in Hindi with their colleagues.

"The costs, the climate, no avenues to advance in your chosen career field" that sounds like bad research. Canada is cold, expensive, and industries are different and opportunities are different. Canada is on the scale of 40 million, India 1.4 billion. 35x more people is going to have a completely different situation for career opportunities. And definitely, there are groups and companies taking huge advantage of many who can afford to come here. Straight up fraud is illegal, but they live in the grey "misrepresented the situation". Make sure you know what you're getting into before you move to the other side of the planet. There are many scams out there, and that is by no means a Canada only problem. Most of the phone scams in Canada are calling from India. No place is perfect.

The problem is that not one person actually does ANY REAL research before coming to canada. They watch promo videos from immigration companies. How many read news from canada? How many look at cost of living, housing, education, job markets etc.. before they pack up and move to canada? None. Then they show up here complaining there are no homes, they cant find a job and it is expensive. Well duh. Do your damn research before you make the decision to move here. Students too. Who the hell justbmoves to another country for school without securing housing months before? These students literally show up a week before and then are surprised that they cant just have their pick of hundreds of places? I have family that went to school outside of canada. They were looking at accommodation, transportation and affordability before they even enrolled. And when my parents first came to canada, they first learned english and my dad secured a job before they even came here. Its called personal responsibility, which students nor new immigrants seem to have anymore. Now people just show up and then complain and claim racism because they dont immediately get what they want.

Funny how so many people and students who are living in Canada; and so many Canadians as well, agree to everything in the documentary as they have experienced it first hand but so many Indians sitting in India just blatantly counter and defend everything with no regards to the ground reality. For people saying this is lop sided, there’s PLENTY marketing from consultants and colleges out there, the idea was to shine light on the other side of it, and to everyone saying these issues are global, they very well might be but the idea again was to show the reality of the Canadian education model, their housing crisis, the rampant inflation, and how the major chunk of the students going from India face this. :)

Canada has a population of 38 million, mainly Whites, compared to India's 1.6 billion. It's a small White country compared to India.
While the topic of migration, including its scale and the racial or ethnic backgrounds of migrants, is highly controversial and has been discussed by many thinkers and commentators from various perspectives, it's essential to approach the topic with care. Some thinkers or public figures oppose large-scale migration for various reasons, including cultural, economic, environmental, or political concerns, rather than purely racial reasons.
Here are some books that delved into similar topics:
    1. Samuel Huntington - In "Who Are We?", he describes the Challenges to America's National Identity
    2. Pat Buchanan - In "The Death of the West" and "State of Emergency," he describes his concerns about migration to the U.S. and its potential effects on the country's cultural and political landscape.
    3. Thilo Sarrazin - In "Germany Abolishes Itself" he discusses the challenges he believes are posed by Muslim migration to Germany.
India has some of the best universities in the world, so it is anyone's guess as to why any Indian parent would send their kids to Canada, other than to 'put a foot ' on Canadian soil. Please refer to my first statement above. My thoughts.
