It's crazy Korean audiences are usually pretty calm but they managed to really draw the audience it's awesome
The Blue Dragon acting awards show audience ( _serious ACK-TORRS_ ) has always been notoriously chilly towards the idol acts booked to perform at the show. Mamamoo is one of the few acts to ever crack that hostility, with their stage presence and witty adlibs (quotes from movies and call-outs to actors).
It should also be noted that Byul wrote, I repeat, WROTE all of the Rap Parts herself as NONE of the Songs that they sing had any actual rapping in it.
Currently, she has a total of 57 copy-written song accreditation's under her name, most of any of her Generation of Girl Groups. 50 Songs through the KOMCA (Korean Music Copyright Association) & 7 through the Japanese version.
I don't doubt that (G)i-dle's Soyeon will be catching up to her before long.

Delilah was originally a Tom Jones song, which was covered by a Korean Singer (the guy that's sitting there with his mouth open watching). MMM is doing the Cover version by the Korean Singer.
Some didn't care much for the Korean Singer's response because he didn't feel it because they are a female group singing a song that was originally sung about someone who perceives himself as a betrayed lover and who spies a woman in silhouette on a window blind as she makes love to another man. Although he realizes that she is no good for him, he calls her 'his'. At the break of day, armed with a knife and waiting until her paramour leaves, he knocks on the door, which she opens only to laugh in his face. He stabs her to death, then waits for the police come to break down the door and take him away.
Despite this, they've gained & earned the praise of other groups, rookie groups, senior groups as well as senior solo performers.
If you watch the actual episode he looked pretty happy afterwards. I think he was just super focused while he was watching it but it seemed like he enjoyed he performance
When most people hear something awesome, they will respond with something like *>i am ded
so a little background about immortal songs. it's a music competition program. Every episode they have a guest music writer, composer or legend singer. each episode features singers who perform their reinterpreted versions of songs from the guest writer, composer or singer.
Mamamoo participated in 13 episodes from who they won 3 times. Immortal song 2 is usually won by veteran singers, so it's definitely a great feat for an idol group to win the entire episode and mamamoo has done it 3 times. Unlike music shows where wins can be directly influenced by the groups' fanbase, for immortal song, the group will have to win over the audience which are made of all age groups. there are only 4 other groups that have won once.
wonderfull confession is one of the songs where they won. the other 2 performances are backwoods and dance to the rhythm
The other good thing about IS/IS2 is that the Stage MC (The one that announces the competitors) will reveal facts about the Artists. It was through IS2 that we learned of RBW's BULL***T RULE FOR Byul & Laughing/Smiling.

The impressive thing is that Moonbyul also writes the raps for these performances. Also "The Way to Sampo" is one of my favourites.
Wheein has the voice of an angel that guides you while Hwasa has the voice of a devil that tempts you xD.
Here's how the competition works: There's a winner every episode, except rarely there's a two part show and then there''s a part 1 winner and a grand winner. The performers each sing one song in randomly chosen order and the audience votes after each song. The one with more votes moves on until everyone has performed. There's always a live band.
The slack-jawed old dude in Delilah was thrown by the gender & sexuality shift for his song and he never recovered. In the original recording by Tom Jones in the 60's, a guy knifes his cheating girlfriend and then begs forgiveness. Old dude dropped the knife for the Korean version (violent lyrics are censored) but otherwise the scenario is the same. MMM turned it into a lesbian crime of passion as though that's the way it was supposed to be done (except to old dude lol). Moonbyul wrote the rap verses because of course Tom Jones didn't rap in the original.
At the beginning of Passion Flower the pianist was doing variations on Beethoven's Fur Elise. It's less well known but in Delilah the guitarist quoted Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez when they went into the countdown near the beginning and imo he was hinting at House of the Rising Sun in the way he picked the intro arpeggios. It was an electric guitar btw, but it was set up to sound like as much like a classical guitar as possible.
Idk if you plan on reacting to more, but "The Way To Sampo" and "Backwoods" are two of my favorites besides these ones.

So yeah, you can tell be the crowd's + Tribute Singers that they extremely resonate with females over males, which is especially true in the Radish Fields as there is 85-90% Female MooMoos to 10-15% Male MooMoos

and "Backwoods" & "Way to Sampo" for ballads/emotional/vocalgasm performances..
I'm sure I missed a lot of other bops (there's a total of 13 of them).. but these are the first I can recall other than the ones u just reacted to
If you ever watch MamamooTV from their channel, there's one episode where, just a few days before the performance, MMM are in the studio figuring out their arrangements, choreo, and so forth for "Passion Flower". You dont have to react to it, but definitely worth the watch! They get stuck on something for a bit and you can see the process MMM has as they come up with their entire performance with pretty much just the four of them. It's honestly so fascinating

They won 3 times I believe. Most by any idol group.
@@jinglebell5821 Not to mention, scared the competition as several times, when the others were asked whom they didn't want to go head-to-head against, majority had said MMM.
They won two full time on IMS 2 with "Wonderfull Confession" ( theire first full time win) and on of theire latest "The Dance in the Rythm". They also won one half time on IMS 2 with "Backwoods" ( they very first win on IMS 2). IMS 2 sometime splits the show in two parts when they invite to many artist.

Delilah is by Tom Jones, an old British pop singer from the 60's. He's amazing! You should hear the original version by him!

mamamoo doesn't always do the change-ups in their immortal songs performances, though the songs where they don't are the ones you want to bring tissues with because they're focusing on pulling your heartstrings ("backwoods", "love story of a girl", "love" are three examples of that)
in general, though, they're able to let loose on this show, do things they they typically can't or won't do on the standard music shows, such as all the belting, runs and change-ups you've seen here, as well as showcasing their crazy harmonizing and so much more
of course every member can do everything. they're MAMAMOO. check their appearences on Weekly Idol.
Solar has the most powerful vocals in the group and I feel like you didn’t comment on that
