4 Days Winter Bushcraft in Snow, High Winds and Rain - Canvas Poncho Shelter - Vintage Wild Camping

  • 4 days bushcraft camp. Typical weather with snow to changing weather with rain and high winds. White one day and spring the next and back to freezing weather again. But I love this type of changing weather in nature.
You all know my passion for making different kind of saws in the woods. After the third day upgrade I did with the coils etc I reached a roads end. Can't make a better saw than that. It was an absolute delight to work with. I'll probably put my hand on it making a nice finish etc and use it for a while more.
I get a lot of questions how I can eat meat after several days out in the woods. Often it's fridge cold and under outside with a freeze in the nights so no problem. When its warmer you just bring it frozen. If its under 10 C outside it takes at least a day for it to thaw and then you can wait one more day before you cook it. I've done this for 15 years and never got sick.
    Thanks for watching!

Bushcraft is a skillset. It's not mandatory as a bushcrafter to go naked to the woods and trying to survive. To do that every week is a unrealistic fantasy. The way I see it, bushcraft skills make hiking and camping more efficient, lightweight and interesting... and not to forget FUN!.

your comment is a lot more wholesome than mine, which was,
"......bro...you didnt actually PACK and carry an entire raw chicken with ya, did you? you DID kill it while you were out there, right? wtf is this fake trash?"
but still also true. when i see this, i think its just some nerd boy cosplaying as a bushcrafter.

Yes I agree. But For me personally while I was out there in God's creation, I would have to praise HIM as the days and nights went by. I like silence out there in the woods and seem to have plenty of time to listen to what the Holy Spirit has to say. 😁👍

Maybe I am missing something, but he looks like he needs government and other people to make that saw blade, make the pot, make the non organic: shelter, rainhood, boots, knife sheath, etc. He needs government so that he knows some crazed tribe of people wont come and murder him and his village in the night for all his fancy toys.
Maybe I am overreacting...but we need a government for more than you realize.
All props to his bushcraft knowledge though. I think you are right that we should never lose these survival skills. I doubt I have the fortitude to stay alone in the wild for days on end without someone or a dog to keep me psychologically sound.

The amount of work that goes into these videos does not cease to amaze me. Just for those initial 10 seconds, he had to set up the camera, walk away from it, get back to it, take and bring it forward, set it up again, walk back, and then forward to it - just for those few seconds to use in the intro...I am not even getting started on the rest of the video.

Hello Sir, thank you for all these videos, they are a pleasure to watch!
The sounds, the angles, everything is just superb!
This time of the year, marts and april are the perfect time for open sky camping; No bugs of any kind, yet the weather are still either frosty clear (my favorite) or warm when there is no wind and everything is comming out and lots of birds calling.
When the bazillions of mosquitos and mits (Gnavpander in Danish) comes out, any activity outside two hour before and after sunset and sunrise earns you a medal :-)
You are lucky that you have those huge woods, in Denmark we only have relative small ones, there are almost no places where you cant hear industry or traffic, and you can walk through our largest woods in a day.
    Mange Tak fra en Dansker.
