Hard agree. Glazed simple is perfect. Powdered sugar is second best. I hate the sprinkles ones and the weird fillings are excessive. Sometimes in winter a simple jam doughnut with a mug of tea is also ok.

Glazed round with a hole yes, but have thou tried it with a touch of raspberry in an original glaze? It brings out a sour tang you didn't know you needed in your dougnout like no other

Same here. If I have decided to get another flavour I’m always disappointed, and I really can’t stand the chocolate icing flavour, just too sweet and wrong.
I miss the old skool regular jam donuts, that almost look dark brown, instead of these anaemic donuts they have in every supermarket and disgusting chain "bakers" like greggs...a traditional Baker is hard to find nowadays. All poncey patisseries
