Shouldve compared the F-Sport IS 350 to the A-Spec TLX just saying.
Justin Mungoway GS or bust.
It was sponsored by acura
Why if the Acura is already cheaper than this model
Johnny Salvattore its cheaper for a reason
It wasn't a fare comparison due to the Acura TLX is practically their flagship car and the Lexus IS 350 isn't is the lowest of the platform " but still awesome" car they have I understand specs but still
Acura line up is RLX,TLX,TSX & ILX
Lexus line up is LS,GS,ES & IS
"When's the last time you saw a CD player in a car from 2018?"
Umm...the 2018 Acura TLX A-Spec??
B BANG I love Acura but true
Exposed. lol
The Lexus has one too! So what is the point of bringing that up? Plus...
Honda phased them out but Toyota still has them in the 2018 models. I own thousands of CDs, and still buy em. Not having a cd player actually a deal breaker for me.
Yes, I have music on my phone, but I still go to the used mom & pop record store, buy a bunch of cheap $2 cds and go for a joyride and listen to what I bought. No cd player = no buy. If your not a music fan and just listen to the radio, then thats fine, but I'm always trying to find new stuff, and I like heading to the record store to dig in the crates.
Also mercedes offers the cd player as an option and it's standard in the s class
This is the only review video where offering an extra feature is seen as a negative.
After reading these comments... I’ve come to the conclusion that people have no idea what SH AWD is or what it is capable of. It’s an innovative piece of technology and it’s a shame that Honda doesn’t get any credit for it.
Facts!
Right I have always owned the sh awd tl and tlx and I cant believe Honda didn't put it in there awd cars and get credit. I like hond but that Sh awd is whats makes me want the Acura all the time.
They dont understand that sh awd or probably know how to drive with it if they said the lexus handles better. Aint no way
You can clearly tell which brand sponsored this video.
somebody's horse didn't win lol.
There was more filler in the Lexus part of the review for sure. They didn't bother to talk about ride quality, handling, the nav system, or many of the basic things you would want to for a car review. For shame, Auto Guide.
CRY MORE SUCH YUMMY BUTTHURT!!
If you subsist on butthurt, I'd love to know how that works. Might obviate the need for grocery shopping if I can just fuel up on some good ol' salty tears.
lolol now you just got even more maddered!! hahahlol. sorry dingbat.
You guys spent like 6 minutes on the Acura and 3 on the Lexus. While I do think the Acura is the better car for those who have a budget and want to maximize space. The Lexus in my book has way more substance. One little tidbit, I can’t believe he thinks the IS interior is fussy. It’s a screen, vents, one row of buttons for HVAC controls containing only like 6 buttons and another row of buttons for audio containing another 6 or so. It’s the same set up in literally every car. Also the heated seat controls are easy to reach if you’re not retarded and the ignition button isn’t any more out of place than a regular ignition say if you were using a key. I knew they were gonna not pick the Lexus from the start though. Once he called it “ancient” it was over.
They also compared a midsized car to a compact car so that’s that...
Technically, the TLX is classified as a compact, not midsize.
Kevin Niles Consumer Reports are calling it a mid size car, as are Edmunds. I haven’t seen a review that calls it a compact car.
Joseph Xavier they are going by exterior dimensions. Unfortunately cars in the US are classified by passenger and cargo volume, and the TLX is about 1 cubic ft shy of midsize requirements.
They're sellouts. lol
stfu kid. you can’t afford a lexus so you’ve never sat in one. I have one and it is uncomfortable
“Platform is ancient” -2014?? Are you kidding? Most Volkswagen and Audi’s still look the same since 2004
MikeM it is ancient, that Lexus is basically the same chassis and engine (except for the mid tier turbo engines) from the previous gen from 2007. The mid gen refresh didn't update much either except for some cosmetic and a bigger infotainment screen
joosunkmybattleship actually the suspension is completely redesigned, repositioning of shocks, and there's laser welding done in the chassis and allot more.
MikeM you dont comprehend platforms do you? Just body panels lmao
People are dumb. Why change that works. Look at ford and Chrysler keep changing shit around. You got that right...they got shit cars.
joosunkmybattleship Incorrect. The 2014 platform is the new N Platform - it is a totally different platform compared to the platform on the 2nd generation Lexus IS (which is the N Platform). The platform is only 4 years old as of today. So calling the Lexus "ancient" is considered stupid.
The mid-gen refresh update is a huge update - you have to look at it as a world update.
All specs (except US-spec) get triple LED headlights with LED turn signals.
Less plastics and more padded stitching.
Bigger screen
Updated bumpers/grills
Bug fixes to the UI.
And other stuff.
The update for the 2017 is well worth it. The screen alone was worth it.
Kinda weird though that ur using the sport a spec model for Acura but not the f sport model for the IS
He compared cars with similar prices, the A spec acura is 1k less than a basic Lexus Is
Not weird, huge price differences.
Joseph Malley a spec only changes the looks a little bit
Lexus will be the best car ever ....if you drove one
Maxwell *Personal Account* that’s incorrect. Aspec does change the looks but it also gets a more aggressive sport tuned suspension with larger and wider rims which improve handling and a rear stabilizer bar which also improves handling. Therefore it’s not just cosmetic makeover.
I’m probably the only guy that would love to have an Acura TLX. I just love that Jewel eyes and diamond grill.
Ed Vincent Calaguas your not the only one. I'd love to have that car to
Me too
So clearly this video favors the TLX. I for one prefer the is350. Anyone else please hit the like button
Jamaican Me Crazy exactly
Honda lovers can keep their ice cube tray headlights.
Every criticism of the Lexus made me like it better
Claire the Loon me as well criticizing the Lexus for offering a CD player as well as an auxiliary outlet was especially idiotic
James N they probably think old people that play CD doesnt exist
style 20 I'm 34 so I'm kinda old i do stream from my aux cord a lot but still used CDs when I want to save my cellphone data and it still has better sound to me
James N trust me. Bluetooth suck sometime so I listen to my cds as well and use aux. But i guess Lexus giving more option is bad. But if that was Mercedes or Honda. I bet they would praise them. Alot of reviewers hate Toyota/Lexus brand for some reason
I agree. It has a CD player AND an aux? OH NO, HOW AWFUL TO HAVE AN EXTRA OPTION. Start/Stop button isn't easily reached while driving? Well, considering I only plan to press that button between 2-10 times per day, and considering I don't want to accidentally hit the button while driving, that seems like pretty good placement to me. It's not like it's in the trunk.
This is really funny because I work for Acura yet drive a Lexus. 🙊
It also would've been a bit more fair to compare the A-Spec trim to an F-Sport version of the IS. The Acura interior still looks cheap in comparison to the Lexus.
signdetres yup. Even tho it's not the F sport model it's still better then the Acura. Lol
And a GS. Or even an ES.
signdetres hey I think you have a point but they might just be waiting for the TypeS variant to come out
signdetres can’t agree more, why didn’t they bring the f-sport? Gotta compare apples to apples.
signdetres agreed everyone hates the 2 tier screens
How generous of you guys to allow Acura to sponsor this video, they could sure use the good publicity. 👍🏼
They didn’t dumbfuck. TLX is just better
Where is Fsport IS350 since you have Aspec TLX?
Personally I'll take Lexus over Acura
Jeremiah Anthony I’m in the market for a new car. Please give me some reasons why. I like both platforms leaning more towards the Lexus.
I would say if you care more about driving dynamics, exclusivity, and style, go with the Lexus. If you are shopping with a spreadsheet, go with the Acura. I can't deny the Acura has good value, but the Lexus will probably be more reliable and will be more fun when you start pushing it hard on a back road due to its architecture. Also, the IS will definitely get more attention. One of the main downsides and upsides of the IS is the interior - it's very cockpit like which some perceive as cramped - it's all up to you as to whether you like that. For me I like it, since everything is within reach, and I am held in place when going around corners. I considered going with the TLX when I was car shopping a couple of years ago but just found it boring. On paper it did seem like a good deal. Anyway best of luck to you!
ARentz07 thanks dude... appreciate the input
@@Fresh4rmTrap The current gen TLX is just a last gen Accord with the option of SH-AWD. It's FWD-based, transverse engine layout with tech that is one generation behind Honda. Meanwhile the Lexus IS is RWD architecture with a longitudinal V6 for better handling, made in Japan at the Tahara plant, which is the most automated and advanced car factory in the world. It has decades of Toyota and Lexus quality behind it, while Acura is just a hopped up Honda.
I will never buy another Honda product. We all need to do the research, Acura has had countless issues with auto transmissions and oil consumption. As a car guy, Toyota is definitely on another level.
How do you have heated rear seats & What looked like the 360° surround view camera system in the TLX A-Spec? Because those aren't available in the U.S. A-Spec, only in the Advance package. Is this from a TLX A-Spec in Canada?
While it may seem unfair comparing the highest trim Acura to the base model Lexus, both are priced similarly so I think it is a very fair comparison. Personally, I think that Acura looks phenomenal.
If you guys legitimately like the TLX better, then that's fine, it's your opinion. I'm a lifelong Honda fanboy so if anything my loyalty would be to Acura, but damn this review seemed really slanted and a lot of the criticisms of the Lexus seem arbitrary at best and backwards at worst.
If you guys are getting sponsored by Acura then you need to say that up front. If you're not being sponsored by Acura, then this comparison is almost inexplicable.
thevoxdeus stfu and stop crying. So salty lmao
@@ThePk7861 piss off bemer fanboy
Actually a Lexus tech did one of these comparisons and he is a Lexus fan boy but he even said the TLX is just better
Why do auto reviewers talk about these cars like they’re affordable?
Well when its 2024 I'll be one used with 60000 miles for 20000
@@rambob8440 that's exactly what I did this year
@@dereknt9132 which one did you buy ?
@@innerpeace6014 Lexus
@@dereknt9132, were you hesitating between these two ? If so, what motivated your choice?
I am still undecided, though I lean towards acura
How do you compare an Aspec TLX to the regular is350 and not the F sport?
i'd get the Acura TLX, with the SH-AWD
Lexus all day
Vehicle Virals everyday
My gf has that same exact lexus is. I have w205 c300. I take acura all day for its transmission. both cars navigation system is crap. lexus handsfree autocommand is the worst. My auntie has ES 300 and it wont take any commands at all. in terms of driving experience from owning lexus, i take acura this time
reliability all day
Mia Nino ??? They’re both reliable
You can't compare a RWD Lexus sedan to a FWD based Acura. Lexus is classes above.
can you do a comparison of the Big 3 - Infiniti q50 red sport, Acura TLX A-Spec and Lexus IS-350 Fsport please luis!
Where in Toronto are you guys located? also please note the Canadian price as well. thanks!
I have 2014 is 350 F sport. It's great. It looks more aggressive than thr tlx
This is why I’m not subscribed to AutoGuide. They spent up to 4 mins talking about Acura and just 2 mins on Lexus and missing out on HUGE key features like standard safety tech, updated refreshed model in 2017, also having sport plus mode before the Acura did if you guys would actually compare apples to apples. A-SPEC VS F-SPORT!!! And you guys didn’t mention Lexus reliability vs how terrible Acura’s are. Your videos are always disappointing when it comes to Toyota/Lexus because you guys are so bent on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.... I wish AutoGuide would stop popping up in my feed!
Luke Turner -- AutoGuide is so irrelevant just take a look at the goof ball they keep throwing in front of the camera. (looking at you, Tttthammi!)
The fact that a 10k car like a Kia Rio can have Apple / Android Auto and a Lexus doesn't have it is pathetic. The new Corolla hatch has both. It's the only Toyota that has both, and that includes Lexus too. I was with you on your points until you made the asinine comment about something that should be standard on every vehicle and Toyota has continued to be the only stubborn shit to not have it. Or basically one of a very few. Until they started caving this year and still screwing up, Avalon can only do Apple Auto.
Luke Turner a bunch of butthurt Lexus owners... LEXUS ISNT THE BEST COMPANY OUT THERE
adam cruz it might not be the best but it's better that damn Acura
truu story It literally has nothing but power over the Acura
8:31, You live in Toronto? I live just blocks from Markdale haha!
Bought the A-Spec last month. I am in love with it.
Josh Radford lol dumb choice, should of bought a lexus instead
Acura tlx is my dream car
Both are great cars, but the Lexus has better build quality. This is coming from a Acura fan. It just boils down to what you like.
gallyun1 I beg to differ Lexus is more for power Acura is much more stylish. Lexus might be more sturdier but Acura is more safety in mind and reliability.
Isnt the IS a smaller platform compared to the TLX? I would think maybe the ES is similar to the TLX or even the GS.
There are so many is haters. I love my 2016 lexus is 300. I couldn't be happier with the look feel and performance. After having it for a year I now know that's all I will ever drive
That Lexus IS pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I love Acura, but the Lexus beats it in just about every category.
Maticalise Music Master e.g?
Does not beat it for room and price. The AWD is much better than anything Lexus has
Maticalise Music Master at least Acura sedans have back seats that fold down “ AHEM, LEXUS”
every category ?? do you ski, do you drive uphill to the mountains during winter, Acura = Glorified Subaru(AWD) + Power + Reliability + efficiency. Lexus = Reliability + power.
Lexus is for girls!!
Ok I get that the Lexus is an older design but my question is, what the hell is up with this guy's hair? It looks like he washed his hair with a fire hose and then blow dried it with an airplane engine.
TheUniverse Nside holy crap you just made my day😊
Is there a manual version of the Acura ?
7:58 I thought that down shift was kind of slow, does the f sport shift faster?
If you are in sport and sport +
I feel like the ES 350 would be a better match up from a size and "luxury" perspective. The IS I feel leans a little more to the sportier side. Nothing wrong with that, I prefer the looks of the IS over any other Lexus model or Acura without a doubt.
TLX is more GS size, ILX (lol) is more like IS size
Yeah actually up to this day, I don’t know why they’re comparing the TLX with other companies smaller car like the C class, 3 series or IS. It looks more the same proportion as an E class, 5 series and GS.
You compared a tlx aspec to a base model IS?
I built a IS350 AWD F-Sport to the specs of the Acura and it came in at a tick over $50,280...about $7,000 more. Some might be willing to overlook the shortcomings of the IS for better handling but most won't. The Acura has more room, more advanced features, better awd system, is more efficient for less money with similar performance which seems to tip the scales in its favor.
“When was the last time you seen a CD player?” Literally every single car on the market and also in the 2018 TLX you are reviewing in the same damn video.
Last 3 new cars I’ve bought from different brands all didn’t have a CD player. Not even optional
The Acura looks great, the Lexus has more power, but there are both old platforms... But I'm leaning more to the Acura for the room and Android Auto / Apple car play
Mr. Ash the lexus has the same safety features as the Acura idk why they said it doesn’t. They also failed to mention the refresh and didn’t even compare a fair trim level of the Lexus to the Acura and as of right now Lexus IS slowly integrating Apple car play into their car. Think the new NX, the UX coming out and the new LS are the first candidates. This video was probably sponsored by Acura 🤷🏽♂️.
For the TLX, even though its weird to use the knob for Apple car play (I got used to it really fast), the dual screen that everybody seems to hate, is actually really cool. The Acura map is really outdated, but I pulled up Google maps from my iPhone on the top screen, and then proceeded to use the lower screen to play with my music on my phone. I have no idea why people complain about that.
Jenesh Patel he didnt say the lexus didn't have them. Acurawatch Technology just Works better, which is true.
I have both cars and the Acura has way more features. Day to day I enjoy driving the Acura a lot more than the Lexus. I had the 2.4 tlx and that car was way more fun than both of these cars due to the lighter weight, dual clutch 8 speed.
To add to this, all tlx now come standard with Acura watch while with Lexus you’d have to pick between the fsport or luxury package, can’t get both which is stupid on Lexus’s part
I like new guy. I hope he does more reviews.
5:53 ayyyyyyyyyy fonz
Love both cars
Great review
This review is ridiculous! The first obvious issue is the fact that you aren't comparing apples to apples as far as trim.
Apple car play is not the savior of all cars. most 2018 model cars have a CD player, including the Acura and all BMW's. the buttons are well placed in the Lexus and not hidden within a screen that's bound to stop working over time. the heated seat adjustments are not hard to access unless you're dumb and to lazy to press on them, you don't have to keep your phone in the center console to use the aux cord, the Lexus actually have clips to hold the aux cord so you don't close it in the console. Also, if Cd's are outdated then the aux cord is just as outdated as the CD since it has Bluetooth audio. You need to find a new job, reviewing cars isn't for you.
omgimfreaknsexi calm down, don't get your panties in a twist because the one you bought lost. Honestly, if your priority is awd, luxurious and seriously athletic/sporty, these are the worst in the industry (ESP that acura at that price). Options like the ATS, Q50, c class and even the stinger gt are better options. I would easily take the kia get over these two
Karun Chendrimada , there was nothing wrong with any of the points made in the previous reply in regard to THIS review. The guy reviewing the Lexus was a complete idiot contradicting himself multiple times and basically reading from a script like my 4 yo reads the magic school bus (but my 4 yo is much better). The vehicles you mentioned very well may be superior alternatives to both the Acura and Lexus but none were in this review and the original reply was levied at the ineptitude of the munchkin featured in this pathetic "review" and I 100% agree with his assessment in that regard. Stop wearing your mom's panties.
Agreed. Apple Car play isn't the savior. Its especially not for luxury cars. Who would rather use Apple Car play over BMW iDrive or Audi Virtual Cockpit?
Fact: Apple Car play is only useful on lower end economy cars with no navigation and a shitty infotainment unit.
bet he has a lexo
Arguably great styling, lots of room, the best AWD system, unbelievable tech, from a reliable manufacturer for $45k how do you not go with the Acura?
It makes sense the Start button is AWAY from everything else of things more accessible, so it is not pressed by mistake when driving and reaching to the center panel and/or area.
Compare the two which holds car value.
Acura aspect. Vs acura tech version. Which one is better and expensive
The Lexus CD player looks old fashion 😔 but "Still" love the brand 💪
They only used around 3 minutes for the lexus because we all know lexus is better than acura
Derek T. Your point is dangerously true
I have the IS350 F-sport and a friend of my have the new TLX. When it comes to handling, the TLX is more nimble and direct compared to the IS350.
“Are we gonna stand here and keep arguing about it?” Hah...like i havent heard that on topgear before. Real original...
Oh the Acura 2008 TL Type S 286 hp vs 2018 TLX 290 HP. After 10 years only 4 hp more?
Compare the torque.
Torque and gearing ignored... Take a look at that.
I don't think the A-Spec TLX isn't the successor to the TL Type S.
The last gen TL with the 3.7L V6 Exclusive to the SH-AWD cars made 310HP.......
I'm 47. Don't care much for Aux cords. I'll pay extra for the CD player.
Did anyone else realize how he said the AUX input in the Lexus was in the “glovebox” but it was actually in the center console?
You compare a Acura Aspec, and not the Lexus F-Sport?
kinda wierd you criticize having a CD player.. toyota gets it that some people still have CD's they play.
I truly feel with the Type R hype going on that if Honda brought a Type R version of the Accord to North America, that is all anyone here would want, the demand would be huge!
Acc0rd79 But Honda of America is stupid, so don't expect that to happen.
This looked like an advert of the Acura more than a comparison between the two.
Answer is Giulia Ti for similar money?
Why would they change a bullet proof platform? That's why I love Toyota. No funny 9 speed transmissions. No crazy electronics that will give more problems on the long run. Some of us people still like simple clean and reliable. Toyota 💯
Lexus over Acura anyday.
EDDY SENG LOL. Uh, no.
EDDY SENG Acura looks, AND HAS BETTER RELIABILITY AND has back seats that actually fold down unlike Lexus
Acura is shit. I'm hopeful the next gen of Acura (upcoming TLX Type-S) will close the gap, but it'll still use FWD transverse layouts - in other words, the TLX is just an econobox dressed up to look luxury, while the Lexus IS uses true RWD layout with longitudinal engine.
@@elusivellama The IS is just a dressed up version of a Toyota from Japan. FWD Acuras still feel better than Hondas, they handle and ride a lot better. If you don't believe me go test drive one, you'll be amazed with the difference.
@@theresn0limit Which Toyota product are you talking about? The IS is a RWD longitudinal car, as far as I know there is a no equivalent Toyota.
I test drove both cars today. The Acura came out to be almost 10k (Canadian) less than the Lexus. The Acura was more practical and better for an everyday car with the help of a spacey interior and good sized trunk. The Lexus handles better around corners and it's engine sounds great next to the Acura. If you live somewhere that snows, the SH-awd is a great option and makes for a better drive in the winter. If you don't need stability in the winter, or the space, the Lexus is the option for you. Otherwise, you're better off saving 10k and going with the already amazing Acura TLX.
I still like to listen to a CD now and again. I had a IS 250 that had a CD player and AUX but I never had to connect my phone with any cord. There’s this magical thing called Bluetooth that I used. I have never owned a Acura but to each its own.
Most people would probably disagree with me but I’ll go with Acura. It just more sportier and manlier for me.
Acura/honda also makes garbage transmission. That 9 speed transmission has way too many sputtering and late shift.
Going by the new interior in the just announced RDX from Acura. I'll wait on the TLX to receive the new interior update in the next refresh. THEN the Acura will be the obvious choice.
Gonna have to wait till 2021 for the update. Just hope they do some thing with the HORSE POWER so as to match the handling of the A-Spec.
I had an Acura 2004 TSX. It had a parasitic drain in the electrical system. Wiper fluid pump broke and only the high beams worked. Steering felt sloppy. Slow for sporty looking car. Own 2015 GS 350 F Sport. Rear sunshade broke but everything else works (for now). From service records I can see that both door actuators in the front had to be replaced on the Lexus so that seems to be an issue. I was looking for an Acura TL but almost all had a cracked dash and/or ripped seats. Lexus seems to make cars that hold up better over time. My main beef with Lexus is how hard they are to work on. I would probably have to unbolt motor mounts and remove the alternator and exhaust manifold if I ever had to replace the starter.
Need lane departure and cruise for a long day? What did they used to do like a few years ago before cars had this!??
Lexus > Acura
Without question. Acura wishes it could command the same respect and prestige as Lexus. When Acura builds rear-wheel drive sedans and V8 engines maybe then they will be paid attention to.
Acura > lexus
You got your symbol wrong. Acura > Lexus, all day, every day. Forever.
Totally ;)
signdetres at least Acura has back seats the fold down
The Acura is gorgeous!!!!!!
The Acura is the same age or older and they've both been updated consistently since their unveil, the only thing that is different is the Android Auto/Carplay which for me isn't a deal breaker at all? The center console also has a cut out so you can feed the wire through if you dont wanna have it in there while its plugged in. 🤔👀
I'm still driving my 2nd gen IS350 AWD and I would buy neither of these. I would either wait to see what the 4th gen IS has to offer in 1-2 years or upscale to a Audi S5 sportback.
Yeah yet audi has no reliability, toyota and honda for reliability
And all that plastic interior in Acura... No thank you, I take Lexus ;)
Both are older car riding on very old platforms. Both need more power.
doccyber no they need new platforms.Theres no need for more power unless its a high performance variant.
You got people driving with 200 horsepower , so anything over 250 is comfortable enough
People buy 170hp SUVs.. 200hp is perfectly fine for a non-sport sedan
I really hope Lexus and Acura aren't reading this comment thread.
Ok. So Acura rides on the previous Honda Accord platform and when compared to a 340i is way underpowered. We are not comparing econo cars, so even though 200 hp may be ok for a an eco model Civic , even an Si version, there is no excuse for this pathetic power train in the Acura.
Oh and Ill also add. If you have Apple car play and android auto being your deciding factor then you’re insane. These cars bring navigation and have Bluetooth ( which Bluetooth syncs up a lot faster and automatically ) I had Apple car play in my old accord touring and I legit only used it I think twice in the 3 years I had it. It’s great for cars that don’t bring Navi.
The aux location is usually in that location even on Honda . It’s so you have a clean finish and not have wire all over the place . There still a vent so don’t crush up your aux when you close the lid. Also there nothing wrong with cd. Many car have it. What is bad is when a car doesn’t have Bluetooth .
The Acura TLX V6 sucks because it has the 9 speed transmission which is very jerky and it is a FWD based AWD whereas the Lexus is RWD based AWD and the transmission is smoother.
Shahed Hasnat umm, no. It’s not jerky.
I actually traded my IS350 F-Sport for the A-Spec for the exact reasons you outline in this video. The Lexus is definitely more fun to drive but the Acura is a better car for me with the added features and more ergonomic layout. Biggest complaint on the TLX is the seats are not bolstered enough and it needs adjustable suspension modes. If the next gen TLX (Type-S) gives us better seats, adjustable suspension, and 350 - 400HP - They'll have the best car in the segment, IMO.
regsley 350 to 400 HP, are you dreaming?
You guys shouldve compared an F Sport with an A Spec, both with their red interior
I like the look of the Acura TLX A-Spec more
Acura TLX has more power and smoother drive than the Lexus IS. I would know. I drove them back to back. Everyone is so crazy about Lexus just because of the name and how much they advertise themselves. Plus Lexus grill really kills it for me but to each their own. I love my 2019 TLX!
What do u think is a more comfortable ride?? Acura or Lexus sedan?
Prices are different. But with Acura you pay less and get more. Lexus is boring u need to go to F but paying alot more. I rather to stay with Acura
Test drove them both today. 2018 Lexus is350f sport v6 rwd and the 2020 Acura tlx a-spec with a v6. The Acura was more brute and was much faster. But I’m going with the Lexus because it felt 100x better in that car. More luxury for sure! Better sound system, better transmission, it was just miles above the Acura
When are they going to redesign the Lexus IS?
Man I can’t stand the way he talks 😂
i own a tlx, and shopped the IS, while yes the lexus has, and always has had better interiors, the acura is just more practical, way bigger back seat, larger trunk and a way more advanced all wheel drive system.
Damnn dat reviewer is a die hard honda acura fan😜
What about the Q50?!?
Eathy, lexuth ith rwd and acura ith fwd. lexuth all the way!

Mike Tyson likes lexus
love honda and after many accords, to me a true step up in a sport sedan is a is350. true rwd chassis, the tl was never a true sport car for me being that it is a honda accord and its a fwd chassis.
I will say up front that I was looking for a new vehicle and recently drove both the A-Spec and 350 FSport back-to-back. Like many of the other comments; they need to compare similar trim levels. Considering they were comparing "AWD Sport sedans", I can't understand why they quickly discounted the handling and horsepower/torque differences in lieu of trunk space and livability. That said and focusing on the performance aspect of both cars, I found the difference in the 6 vice 9 speed transmissions a bigger deal than they made of it, at least when transmissions were in automatic mode. The Lexus seems to search for gears while in automatic mode (even when I put the car in Sport +) whereas the Acura seemed to be more settled in automatic mode. However, once in manual mode, the Lexus really outshined the Acura. The shifts were Porsche triptronic fast and the car never took back control of the shifting. Since I was looking for a AWD Sport Sedan, it was easy to choose the Lexus.
I am an Acura die hard fan I mean literally check my username, but this review felt so sponsored it lost all its credibility.
Autoguide y’all are my favorite car channel but some of your comparisons lately have been really hard to defend. Like this comparison and that god awful CRV vs Tucson comparison.
acuras4ever Same
Every car review by professional critics always favors the Acura or Honda over the Lexus / Toyota.
You should’ve compared tlx to lexus es350. Both front wheel drive.
No Fsport??
Lexus = RWD, ill take it. No thanks for fwd
BCJDM the tlx is awd
Xavier Williams Yeah but it's not full time, so most of the time it's sending most of the power to the front wheels.
SHAWD is full time AWD. I am sure about that
Shawd is full time and it even sends power to the outside wheels for better handling
He means, Lexus is a RWD based platform (AWD is tacked on the RWD) while the TLX is a front wheel based platform (based on the Accord). IS nearly has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution while the TLX has a FWD like nose-heavy weight distribution.
Really?? Is this a Joke? 😂🤣🤣
What type of motor trend is this??
They should’ve compared the IS to the ILX, seems more logical to me since they’re both in the compact segment
