- When I purchased my Walther PDP F-Series recently, there was a promotion from Walther happening which gave purchasers a free red dot optic for their brand new Walther. You just had to go to their website to claim it. It just arrived recently, and here is the review as promised. It is a 3.5 MOA Ameriglo Haven red dot. The Playeur version (UTREON) of this video will contain installation, which is very easy.

I put an energizer battery in mine. I only got 7 months out of it. The PDP it is mounted to is mostly a safe queen and has less than 1000 rounds. Make sure to test regularly if using this as a carry optic or for home defense!
Agree, 12 HR sleep mode is 715 minute too long.
I picked up the PDP-F at Cabelas. They had a promotion for $100 Extra Cabelas Bucks for the PDP and PDP compact. They didn't find the PDP-F online, so they offered me a $100 discount. This mage the PDP-F $549. I bought it and used $180 in Cabelas Points, which dropped the price to $369 plus tax. This put me out the door for under $400, and $20 more in Cabelas points for later. Considering the Armeriglo dot sight is $250 street price, I figure I have $150 in this pistol. This may be the best value in a reliable, quality defensive pistol going. Truly a Staccato CS killer on a budget.
Just got mine in today and installed on my pdp f. It seems ok. One thing I noticed though is I often hear people talk about the refresh rate…. I now know what that is. When looking at the dot it blinks when moving. I’m talking millisecond blinks but you can see it. I don’t really care for that or the 12 hr auto off. That’s way too long! We’ll see how it holds up.
It's not that the F series has a different plate pattern, it's that Walther revised the optics cut about a year after the PDP was released.

I think it was for almost any PDP and I hope you catch another promotion; this one really was of short duration.

The Holosun SCS for the Walther PDP 2.0 is only 349.99. It solar with 20,000 hours, direct fit to the pistol, 3 different reticles, green 2 moa dot, and a one touch button for all functions. it also has auto brightness which works awesome in any lighting conditions. My PDP full size is now a tac driver out to 25 yards...
What happens when your solar fails?? No place for a battery. What happens when there's no sun for a while?
@@jaredrichards7094 Yep. In addition, the internal battery isn't user replaceable without voiding the warranty. Also, many SCS owners complain the auto-adjusting for light conditions isn't great, and finally, Holosun is a Chinese OEM optics maker named Huanic that was funded by the CCP and a part of their Mil/Ind complex. Eff Chy-nuh.
I took advantage of that promotion faster than Joe Biden sniffing an 8 yr old’s hair (yes, that FAST). I actually purchased a total of 3, one for carry, one for competition, and one for my ol’ ball & chain. I have to say I love the Ameriglo sights!

Dot looks fine on camera usually there is a horrible flicker because the refresh rate is off between the 2, that's not happening here though.
Exactly! I thought it was just mine. It flickers and it’s annoying. I have cheaper red dots that don’t do that. I’ve got a cylee wolf 0 that looks about the same as far as glass quality and build without the sucky refresh rate and it’s about half the price! Granted this optic did come free with my pdp but still!

The ameriglo haven is a good sight and works well. I’ve had mine about 2 weeks now and shot around 300 rounds through my PDP f-series. It’s held zero so far, but I still prefer green reticles and holosun features. I don’t like I have to turn it back on while it’s in sleep mode and have to re-lock it every time it turns back on. Mine shuts off before 12 hours and doesn’t do the motion activation. I’ll have to go through the manual again and see if I have to activate that mode. I thought it was automatic but apparently it isn’t, at least in mine.
Holosun is a chinese company named Huanic, and they were initially funded by the CCP.
I think it’s a good dot. I pick it quick when I draw from my holster. I also love the side battery loader.
I wish I would have known about this promotion while it was active.
Actually the f series does use the same plates as the regular pdps but only the gen 2 ones. All pdps now being sold should be gen 2

@@catdaddy7909 ah, well. I'm sure it's an excellent pistol, regardless.
Once the Ameriglo Haven is turned on it stays on continuously for 12 hrs after that 12 hr period it goes into into the Auto on mode. If anytime in the next 12hrs it detects motion that cycle starts all over again. If it does not detect any motion in that second 12 hrs, then it powers off & has to be manually turned on for the cycle to begin again.
So it doesn't have a shake awake feature like my Holosun 507c.
Although it still seems like a decent optic for being included with a PDP purchase.

I’m not so sure about that. I left mine in the case for a week and when I pulled it out this weekend it came right on.
@Shooterready901 Well, I just went down to my gun safe, & grabbed it out of the door holster & the sight was off. So it had powered down by itself. I pushed the plus button & it powered right back up.
So it operates exactly like it says it will in the manual/instructions that come with the sight.
PDP is a winner
I bought one of these red dots and quickly sent it back. The glass on mine was very muddy looking.
Local guy has one for $115 and I was tempted but I got a Burris ff3 and meprolight and a few others put up and not sure if I'm gonna grab it.
The plate works with all pdp 2.0s
All f series models are 2.0 cut
pdp has to gen 1 and gen 2. I'm assuming it's for the gen 2 PDP footprint which might be the same for the F series
I've had mine setting on the safe for a week now and it doesn't shut off after 12 hours. It has never shut off :(

How long after you submitted the Optic/& Plate request from Walther did it take to receive them? I bought a PDP-F and submitted the request 22 days ago. Haven’t heard anything other than the confirmation that they received the request.
There way behind on fulfilling orders, I was told 6to8 weeks before they shipped, so it’s coming just not quickly. I’m 5 weeks in and just got my email, it’s coming from FT Smith Arkansas. Hope this helps bud👍

Took me a little over 5 weeks.
I finally received my Ameriglo optic and plate from Walther. Right around 4 weeks from the order to when I received it. So far I’m pretty impressed with it. Nice optic window size. Easy to find the dot when drawing and presenting the gun
@@willieb5911 I got mine on the 5th week also, for a budget optic, this thing is nice, I’m very impressed with it and the reticle is super clear, as good as my Holosun optics are, I do have a stigmatism so cheap optics I get that star burst 💥 but not with Holosun, Trijicon. And this ameriglo is as clear, definitely gone run this thing !
