    I know their marketing is more for women on this series. But that shorter barrel for appendix carry, and that smaller trigger reach is great for me. I have short thumbs, short fingers and large weird shaped palms. Curious to try this.

    I got to try the f series 3.5 and 4 inch at A Girl and a Gun conference and fell in love 😍
    One of the few guns that I csn release the clip with my grip hand without adjusting. The ergonomics is great, comfortable recoil and racking was super easy.
    I finally found the 3.5 in stock locally and bought it, so stoked. The racking is a bit stiffer being new, but I know this will ease with more use.
    Conceals in my purse and in my belly band great! Thank you for the video on disassemble!

    Looks like an ideal gun for my preferences. Only wish it was slightly thinner. The quality of machining, and slide plating on that pistol looked superb. I prefer the Walther slide release over any other, and the trigger action may be the very best of it's type. The grip texture seems identical to the PDP, the best that I've ever found. It should balance nicely with a full magazine. My Glocks and Sigs may become safe queens, lol. Yes, I'm excited about getting one.

    Great pistol, I have owned a few Walthers and they were always solid and amazing pistols with great accuracy, the PDP looks like they took that aggressive slide work from the Springfield Elite and made the lines a bit more aggressive. excellent video, as soon as one of the local shops to get one in I'm on board.

  • @CaveWyatt
    @CaveWyatt Před 2 lety +5

    Trigger reach has always been a problem for me. Size L gloves but I got screwed in trigger finger length. Ex.: I wanted to keep my HK P7M13 in the late 80’s but I was pulling on the front right corner (trigger, and everything else, was kind of squared off) of the trigger and no amount of training was giving me a consistent pull. Many times choosing a pistol for me is not a matter of buying the most interesting gun but buying the one that I can reach the trigger. Kudos to Justin Opinion for his JO “grip index” but he’s kind of discontinued it lately so bummer for me.
    So, during the latest military pistol trials I bought an M&P 2.0 (I actually liked my Old M&P 1.3 better), P320, FNS9 and P10c to try out. Seems like most companies have shortened that reach (for women?) but I ended up going with the P320 in various configurations, all of which got better when the X Grip modules became available (my SC became an X Compact, my favorite). Since then I’ve found more pistols that work for me but my new favorite is anything with a P80 frame (Read: P80 PFC9, freaking awesome all around, and Agency). But if I could only have one it would be my P365XL.
    Good for Walther for realizing a need in this area. It’s kind of unfortunate that I’m fully outfitted now. Maybe I’ll try one anyway, I very much liked the quality of the PPS M2 I traded in for that P365XL.

    Wow, I never thought they would have done the 3.5” barrel with compact/15 rd grip. Definitely getting this. Currently carry PPQ SC with 15 rd mags, I
    like 3.5” barrel since I carry AIWB, and 4” barrels tend to dig in while climbing stairs or crouching. Favorite configuration is 15 rd grip with 3.5” barrel

    • @tri3pleagent
      @tri3pleagent Před 2 lety +2

      @kenhoward3512 Před 2 lety +2

      "...4" barrels tend to dig in while... crouching." Yes: reviewers usually say barrel length doesn't matter with AIWB, but even my 3.1" Shield is close to my limit (at 5'10") when sitting, and 4" is poking where it shouldn't.

    One of my main EDCs is the Walther Q4SF. When I don’t feel like lugging around all that steel I’ll often carry an apex’d M&P 2.0 compact that is milled for an optic. This could make a good replacement for that.

    • @awokeone7997
      @awokeone7997 Před 2 lety +3

      I don't know if it would be a good replacement for the M&P 2.0c but maybe you can correct if I'm wrong. I see a lot of people complain about the snappiness of the PDP and even the PPQ for that matter. I'm assuming you are going to feel even more on this PDP F due to the shortness of the barrel length and gun being so light, the M&P 2.0c is heavier, no step barrel chamber and it has additional weight in the frame to reduce muzzle flip as well.

    I have two PPQ's (one in 9mm and one in 45ACP) but they are just too big to conceal carry, so I have a S&W M&P Shield for that job. I love the Shield but was looking for a replacement since it is a single stack (7 or 8), and I needed a little bit more rounds. So, since I love Walthers, I was looking at the PDP compact to be my next carry pistol but then I noticed that this F series is a lot smaller than the compact and it was close to the size as the Shield. This is ideal since it is great for a small carry pistol with 15 rounds. Perfect!!

    You and Teya are the dynamic duo of gun reviews. Great team, man and women reviewers. If NY state government respects the upcoming decision by the Supreme Court to allow us to conceal carry, I will buy the basic PDP or PDP F-Series ASAP. Thank you for your elaborate work reviewing guns.

    I love my current PDP, but having a bit smaller hands I'm curious. Does the F backstraps work on the standard PDP?

  • @Hawtload
    @Hawtload Před 2 lety

    I handled it today and I like it, but I see it as a bag/car gun because it’s still so big/thick compared to a p365.
    If they made a PDP365 I would get two of them

  • @toddparsons2980

    Great review. Is the slide serrations a little less aggressive on this F model? Also is its slide width a little slimmer than the standard PDP?

    • @charlesbeall2589
      @charlesbeall2589 Před 8 měsíci +1

      Slide is just as much a "fatty" as all PDP's. 1.34" thick.

    Nice weapon, PDP with full family.
    Test the 18-round magazines during shots.
    Can you compare the dimensions of the CZ P10S, HellCat PRO and Sig 365XL?

    Hmmm, I have a 4.5” full-size PDP and was going to pick up a Canik TP9SC for something smaller. I may just end up going with this F-Series model instead. 🤔

    While I'm worried about the lack of German proof marks it looks like a good gun. Is it made In Germany like most Walthers and if so is it made in Ulm at Carl Walther? or Arnsberg at Umarex?

    • @anibalzen
      @anibalzen Před 2 lety

      @@GBGuns No, I've had the PK 380 in the past and felt very confortable in my hand, I'm a guy with practically small hands.

  • @connormckay9429
    @connormckay9429 Před 2 lety +2

    What is the width of these? Pretty much the only reason why I don't consider buying a PDP is because they're considerably chunky but if this was thinner at let's say roughly 1.1 inches or so as opposed to like the normal 1.35 I'd be very keen on this

  • @UDPride
    @UDPride Před 2 lety +4

    I dont tote a vagina but I do have small hands and will be opting for the F-series over the standard PDP. Its an issue I have on most guns not just Walther. Small hands and short fingers -- I tend to wear SM gloves with an occasional M at most. An L glove is like an oven mitt on me. After 30 years of keyboard warrioring too, Ive slowly developed more and more arthritis and locked up fingers/joints in my hands so the 20% easier slide is an added bonus. While this firearm is marketed toward women, that's really just a branding thing. Its still a PDP under the hood and any chick or dude with smaller hands and reach will do well to opt for a more size appropriate gun shrunken down just a bit for you. I mean its a PDP. How can you go wrong? You cant. Pick your preferred barrel length and click Order.

    Any idea if this pdp will be able to use the ppq sc mags? Might have to upgrade to that bad boy

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  Před 2 lety

      Maybe the 15-rounder without the sleeve, keep in mind the PPQ SC mags have different springs to keep up with the SC's super-quick slide. This does use basic PDP mags.

    If I wasn't already so invested in the G-19 cult, I would definitely be looking at this. I have "girlyman" hands, and my wife's CCP is a little smallish for me, while my G-19 is a little bit of a stretch.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  Před 2 lety +2

      I think you'd find the ergonomics of this much better than a G19

    • @hlfpsttomorrow93
      @hlfpsttomorrow93 Před 2 lety

      I ended up bailing on the g19 because of my hands. Couldn’t do the grip angle. But even with my smallish hands, a full size Walther or hk is very comfortable for me.
