BoJack Horseman - Judah Sings For Princess Carolyn

- Judah's song from the last Bojack Horseman Season.
Judah confesses his love for Princess Carolyn.
I strive for precision
My aim is to be accurate and clear
I don't say things I don't know to be true
So believe me When I tell you I love you
I don't write good love songs
I'm not adept with metaphors or rhymes
I just want to describe the things I know
And the only thing I know is that I love you
Please believe me when I tell you
I love you, Princess Carolyn - Hudba
"you'd make an excellent mother"
"you're not just saying that?"
"i don't 'just say' anything. i choose my words with very careful precision. i'm surprised you hadn't noticed"
"good night, judah"
that was the moment i knew
Really? I never knew until that moment and I was the biggest fangirl of these both since that moment.
I still ship Ralph with PC more.
I thought the same! 😊
@@callmehanson9466 Ralph was a good person but he wasn’t right for PC. They’ll both be happier with someone else. PC needs a partner to run as fast and she does, and trusts her judgment. Ralph would be happier in a slower paced relationship that’s more down-to-earth.
@@dannythetwo so true. That's why they broke up in the first place, I really wanted Ralph and her together but Judah seems more fit to her schedule wise. PC needs someone who loves her and loves that she's pursuing her career.
Sorry, Mr Peanutbutter, Judah is the real best good boy of the series
doggy doggy what now?!?
Sad Dog...
You da man now dog lol
Diane's husband is also such a good boy.
I'm surprised the words "real best good boy" make sense here.
Judah's so logical, he even manages to infuse reason into sentences that merely refer to him.
Ruthie is lucky to have such great parents
And a great babysitter
And they are all so lucky to have Ruthie
@@user-lr1rt3sz9u Exactly and now I'm busy drawing a family photo with PC, Judah, Ruthie and of course Todd
@@viyou_7134 it's done? Where can I see it?
No .. PC is very selfish
Bojack's creators: we tried to develop complex characters with pros and cons
Me: *desperately looking for a judah's flaw* this guy is perfection
He secretly withheld a merger from Princess Carolyn. To benefit himself later.
Actually this was one of the only moments he showed imperfections, the song is not perfect at all, but it was made with the heart :)
@Shane Brad Exactly. Judah, does sound robotic. Henry Fondle on the other hand, that guy had character! Best character, hands down, in the entire series! No one was good enough for him!
@@GoffCool
I'm pretty sure that wasn't for himself it was just something PC thought at the time
He's a bit of a hipster xD
I love how almost nobody saw this coming, nobody shipped this, but then it happened and everyone was just like , "You know what, they're perfect for each other."
I always shipped it ngl but it was also jsut me wanting judah and princess to have a happy ending separately
exactlyyyy
Really ? Did not think it was just me who was hoping they’d end up together.
@@xiaoyue888 i meannn it makes sense
WHAT I SHIPPED THEM AS SOON AS HE CAME ON SCREEN
“I don’t write good love songs” Judas I thought you didn’t say things that weren’t true
The ultimate paradox
I think Judas would reply: "true, I don't say things that weren't true. By definition a good song is the craft to create lyrics and tonation in a way that another person enjoys and sometimes relate to it. Outside of my relationchip with Princess Carolyn and the clear emotional bond we share, for example if I was a street performer and people haven't seen the show, they wouldn't react in this emotional way but say I suck.
I can get you the details and exact references to back up my explanation if you like"
Cause he wouldn't get that this was a compliment xD
Judas
Dennis Güntner aaah, judas, you beautiful little socially-inept yet romantic beast you. Very in character, well done!
Dennis Güntner In short: he might not have been able to before but he can now.
This was a pairing I didn't see coming, but its the one that makes the most sense. They are both work oriented people that just work so well together and play off each other so well. Princess Carolyn has the energy and tenacity to seize an opportunity while Judah is cool and collected to slow things down so they can look at every possibility. I bet they will go very far together in Hollywoob.
Hollywoob haha
I was actually shipping this pair until Ralph came.
Wait, did you say Hollywoob?
Jajajjaja! HOLLYWOO"B"
@@Minaka714 I wasn't shipping them but I always felt that PC needed Judah around. Yeah PC can take care of herself and handle things, she lands on her feet often enough, she takes care of others. But Judah was a great support to her that made it easier and sometimes those who take care of others need a bit in return.
I squealed when he returned.
I love how pc doesnt say anything after Judah finishes singing, they both know what the other is thinking
ikr? they are just so comfortable with each other, and it shows
That was THE BEST answer PC could have given. Judah wouldn’t have wanted flowery praise and declarations of love. Just a simple, precise answer that means “I hear you, I agree with you, well done.”
As an autistic person, I always interpreted Judah as autistic, and this is a really encouraging scene for me because Judah just says fuck it and tells Princess Carolyn what he really thinks of her without all the bullshit society says your supposed to attach to everything that's so difficult for people like us and it works. He just tells her what's on her mind and they end up married. I hope that I can someday find what Judah found.
He find the LOVE
that's it
this is an old comment but in one of the eps he said he had trouble reading tones and it made my neurodivergent heart go 🥺
This is a good theory I love it! coming from another autistic person aha

@@jpkk0 Diane....her name is Diane :(
Wait wait, that s a very powerful scene but it s not the best of the whole show
So true nothing was so satisfying as that moment!
This makes me wonder how long Judah has loved PC.
Which makes the scene where PC fired Judah in earlier seasons incredibly heartbreaking. I'm glad that they got this ending.
@V-Rex Thats the thing though, they didn't all go wrong. One of them may lasted longer then juda would've epxected...
@@e4arakon but he was a mouse. That can't be a coincidence.
Didn’t think about this before this comment. Ugh my heart 💔
I feel like they both did not expect to fall in love with eachother, judah did not even know himself
Until he said it himself. Princess carolyn didn't even know until she realised she wad pleased. The relationship fell into place perfectly and they are perfect for eachother
@V-Rex I don't think Judah is the kind of person to sabotage others. It's just that Princess Carolyn doesn't have that many options given her age, most guys wouldn't consider an older woman, that's why she hasn't been able to meet someone so easily. (apart from her busy work life)
Can we talk about how princess Carolyn just deserved a man like Judah so badly
Very sweet eh?
You know what I like the most about this? There's no grand finale, no kiss, no "I love you too," it just...is. They both continue working, each satisfied that the other understands them, and that it's mutual, and, well, that's that. Nothing else needs to be said. They're in love, why make a big deal out of it? It's perfect as is.
When you think about it Judah really is perfect for her. PC's whole struggle was she was unable to seperate work and personal life. Ralph was sweet but I feel like he was trying to get her to settle down with him and she didnt want that. She still wanted to work. Judah understands how important work is to her and he doesnt try to change her. Instead he loves her for that and flows with her of this mix of work and personal life with her. Its honestly really sweet and so happy they got a happy ending together. 💖
The whole work-life balance is an important running theme throughout the show. Think of all the characters who bring their work home with them. Like Gina sleeping with BoJack just because she thinks it's part of her job, for instance.
It's just that for PC, Ruthie became 65% of her life, while her job is now 35%, so I think being married to Judah is a way to literally marry her job, since he knows both his personal problems and his work problems, and he understands it, never underestimates her, or tries to change her, since he loves her for what she is, and that's exactly what PC needed (someone who is literally the opposite of Bojack in all the senses).
Given that PC needed someone capable of loving, respecting, helping and caring for her, it is also evident that Judah knows how to love sincerely, both PC and Ruthie.
And I honestly hope Ralph is happy without her.
Ralph's family are bigoted assholes and he fought a lot with PC. He was charming, but you just know that if they got married it would only end in divorce.
Agreed!
There's a scene at the end of one of the episodes right before this one when Princess Carolyn comes home to Judah playing with Ruthie in the apartment while also getting work done. As soon as she walks through the door, he asks if she's okay. She doesn't say anything, just lays down on the couch next to him, and the scene ends. I think she takes Ruthie from him and he's typing on his laptop. And it was just the most perfect scene of the two of them showing how they balanced each other. Just like in this scene, they have such an unspoken understanding of each other. As soon as he comes back into her life they compliment each other perfectly. And that little domestic scene that didn't even last one minute was the perfect showing of their life together
*YES THE BEST GIRL GETS A HAPPY ENDING*
And also gets best boy
Me during the episode: is judah sad because princess carolyn isn't on his concert?
Me during the song: OMG it's happening
Me after that one phrase: YEEEEEEEEES
I was like wait is Judah going to say what I think he is going to say ?!! Yusss I knew
@@ash2694 YEES
✌️
I always wished they would end up together without actually believing it could happen
Yes 🥺❤️
That little sweet smile that princess Carolyn gave to Judah... That was so beautiful. So beautiful. It was like - 'well here we are then'. Judah just confirmed a label for what they already shared otherwise it was always there. This love. This comfort. This respect and admiration. It was always there... They always had the love. He just let her know what it was.
I love that they wrote her to have that reaction, instead of saying anything or reacting in a big way. That's why it's so perfect, she just...understood and reciprocated, as if finally everything was simply as it should be.
It's beautiful
@@WobblesandBean awwwwe jfisbdismsi....coff...it beautiful
I'm so happy they ended up together but absolutely blue-balled that we didn't see them together at the wedding (or even Judah, at all)
Ikr
it sucks we didn’t see more of it but also, it wasn’t their real wedding! it was a business party.
I am certain the reason for not seeing Judah at the wedding was specifically that. They wanted the focus to be Bojack's relationships with these characters - Todd, Carolyn, Peanutbutter and Diane - so there wasn't much room for Judah.
Although I understand the sadness. I was pretty bummed myself.
@@PraetorPhenix if you watch the last episode, only the five main characters speak
I actually hated that they went the predictable route with these two. This show is used to subverting tropes likes this. & Judah seems like the tactical completely professional employee who seems well aware of not coming onto women in the workplace. Seemed extremely forced to pair them together
At first I thought it was cute and then the second time I saw it I actually got a little choked up. Its not the song that gets me, its the fact that this is Judah; a guy who thought things carefully and was rather reserved. This song is showing he writes his emotions in his songs and this is a very Judah song. I'm glad these two got married.
Damn right, she found her man at last
Judah is hot with his hair down
Can't believe I had to scroll this far to see this 😅
Right? Literally the first thing I said out loud while watching this scene, lol
Judah is hot anytime
Guys guys remember it’s a cartoon character. This is a rabbit hole you don’t want to go in
He’s hot with his hair up. He’s hot with a bicycle helmet!
She deserved to get a happy ending . I'm so happy for them , Judah and princess Carolyn are were meant to be.
I cant help but feel sad for the mouse guy (cant remember his name) cause i see no reason they couldn't be together in the end, since the reason they broke up was only because of PC going through hard times i think?
Bojack was right when he said. Maybe the happy ending between us is you getting over me. Idk if I got the wording right but it was something along those lines
@@FoxInTheFridge the mouse dude was kind of a wimp tbh
@@cameronkoontz6393 i mean he was pushing too hard on the whole child thing but he never was malevolent or anything
FoxInTheFridge he could’ve stood up for Princess Carolyn in front of his family a lot more too. I mean they were basically racists and he didn’t do a good job of accepting her into his family when they started being dicks to her
How does this show get me so emotional over a fictional pink cat.
I'm not crying because of the pink cartoon cat, I'm crying because of what the pink cartoon cat represents!
@@rickrolledsoul3920
Is that no different than getting emotional over puppets in the new Dark Crystal show or a movie where a woman has an affair with a wolfman and produces 2 human/wolf person hybrids that the woman must raise for the next 13 years after her wolfman husband dies in the Japanese animated fantasy film Wolf Children?
And PC looks almost like if Snagglepuss had a sister
I CHEERED FOR THEM OMG THIS WAS ADORABLE I LOVE THEM SO MUCH THEY DESERVED THIS
Legit went “Atta boy, Judah!” Thru tears at the end.
I 100% cried. It caught me off guard. It came out of nowhere. And it was so real. I'm still processing the whole ending, but I'm happy for Princess Carolyn. Judah is a kind person, and yeah, he needs help, but P. Carolyn lives to help people, so let it be Judah who is good and thoughtful and patient and who is always thinking about P.C.
He assisted her in every facet of her life. She might as well have made it official and made him her husband.
In hindsight, its almost obvious that he was always in love with her.
Yeah caught me off guard, tear in the eye
What I love most about this is that usually characters like Judah (deadpan, logical, possibly on the autistic spectrum etc.) are presented as completely aromantic.
This isn't even that out of left field. A lot of his previous behaviour fits with him falling in love with Princess Carolyn and expressing that love in the way that makes the most sense to him.
We get so little of Judah that he comes off a robot and only now am I realizing that he was perfect for Princess Carolyn. it's actually quite great that they didn't just go for the single and loving it ending for PC and instead gave that to Mr. Peanutbutter who actually fits that ending.
Yeah Princess Carolyn needed to let someone in her life and Mr PB needed to let go of the women in his life to find himself. I thought it was a perfect ending for the both of them. It made me happy
Oh, but that’s the best thing. She DID learn how to be single and how to be happy with her life, and thanks to that experience she became someone stable enough to be in a healthy relationship.
Her previous boyfriend Ralph I think it was, was patient and kind like Judah, but because she had too many issues and securities she ended up destroying that relationship. But this time, she’s learned how to have a good work/life balance, is self actualising, is not constantly saving Bojack, and so she can now accept Judah’s love and be a good partner in return
Probably an unpopular opinion: I think Diane and Guy shouldn't have ended up together.
@@elleelle9048 why?
I like your point of view, but i dont think the creators made judah a robot but more a man who practices stocism. I only come to that conclusion because of the wide range of emotion they put in all other characters. Some were super happy with no care in the world. Others deeply troubled and depressed. Judah stayed even no matter what, even when getting fired by the woman he loved. Beautiful show
I just realised that Judahs "please belive me when I tell you that I love you" is the same as "I told you that I loved you please believe me" from the final episode end credits

I was terrified they were going to pull a gag by having PC not understand or take it seriously. I'm glad they didn't go down that route. My poor heart.
Surise I know exactly what you mean. The whole "someone makes a grand romantic gesture and someone else is too dense to get it" trope is fucking done.
And I love her reaction with all my heart. No overemotional or dramatic approval. Just the silent understanding because she is finally loving herself as well.
I absolutely love the satisfied "hmm" PC makes at the end. It conveys hope. Acceptance. Her idea that, things might just still work out. She is glad. It gives her peace. No more words needed.
PC's reaction was so spot on. She's been through so much that when love finally presented itself, she just smiled and let it come. 🥰 Didn't expect this ship but was pleasantly surprised. They fit perfectly
The thing I love about this, is how it objectively *is* a terrible love song, but placed in the context of Judah and PC, it becomes this wonderful, perfect thing.
I'll be honest that I never saw this particular relationship coming but I consider that a win for the writing as it's exactly like Judah to keep his personal feelings and his professional behavior separate. I'm sure many of the songs his band plays are influenced by his feelings for PC and this is part of the reason he never brought it up to her before. But he finally thought it through and decided to open up and merge the two sides of his life for her and Ruthie. PC was always so focused on helping others and she would only really accept help from Judah. They're absolute professionals and perfect for each other. One is rational and thoughtful, the other impulsive and passionate, each with equal say in the business and able to work through the other's less helpful tendencies. I can't believe I didn't see it sooner but it was clear as soon as Judah let his hair down in front of her.
Let his hair down, I'm only now seeing how that's a metaphor. Because saying that you can 'let your hair down' means that you can relax around someone, or in this case tell them how you really feel.

It was fitting that PC and Diane got happy endings. It's heartbreaking to say this, but their lives got way better once they didn't have Bojack around anymore. Bojack finally had to take responsibility for all the shitty things he did to people by seeing everyone he cared for move on to a better life without him.

@@kevinmccabe3984 "Friends" but not Friends. They will talk to Bojack and get people to help but they are not mixing themselves with that mess anymore. They went from Ride or Die to associates.
I've always loved the way they've written Judah. because as an autistic person, you're so used to seeing shows and movies make fun of our syndromes and awkwardness. and it's so tiring just growing up to feel like you'll never fit in or be seen as normal. so to see a character whose respected and even valued for his authenticity and straightforwardness just means so much to me, an autistic person who feels tired of feeling "odd". as cheesy as it sounds, it just feels nice to see someone with this disorder represented in a non comical light.
I love how this song is not that well written. It's flat and basic but it feels so genuine and sweet it's a perfect artistic expression from a character like Judah who feels flat and boring at first but is someone caring just beneath that initial impression.

There are so many powerful scenes in this show. This is by far one of my favorites. I love how judah expresses himself and how Princess Carolyn smiles at the end. Then theygo back to work, perfectly content. Happiness is not always complex...
The most sincere moment in the entire show in my opinion
I adore how this moment concludes. He declares his love, and PC just gives it a little smile, a verbal acknowledgement. Then they get back to work. It fits them so well. 10/10 couple, I'm glad they ended up together in the end

man this episode was a rollercoaster but at the same time my heart melted at some of the scenes. while things were going terribly wrong for bojack at angelas house we see the other main characters finally becoming happy, we see mr PB and diane are happy even if they dont see eachother anymore and moving on with their lives but we know theyre becoming better people bc of the ripple they left on eachothers lives, todd is rekindling his relationship with his parents, and of course theres this scene. im glad pc has found happiness, this episode was a masterpiece imo and even if its so hard to watch even now its still one of my fave episodes
I love how natural and calm this was.
Omg I love them together
My GF and I have been watching this show together.
I kept guessing that PC and Todd would have an ace relationship together because he's friendly and great with kids. But when judah returned I joked they should be together.
When he sand this song I cried into my GFs shoulder. It was the best part of the show. Judah was being himself and showing his emotions in his own ways to the woman he loves
When Judah was first introduced, my first reaction was "Oh I can't wait for this guy to be revealed as a complete douche bag who double-crosses everyone to further his own agenda." I'm so glad I was wrong--Princess Carolyn is my favorite character from the show and I'm glad she's come so far from season 1.
I was SO surprised but deadass thought he was going to get up and kiss her here
This is one of the only scenes that kept me from losing my mind in the final few episodes
When I saw this my heart melted. I loved Judah since he appeared, and I knew from the second he stepped in the office he would either become a friend for her life or the one she would end up with. He simply compliments her so well after a life of overwhelming bearing of Bojack’s mental cargo ship.
I love this quiet smile on PC’s face. That is a smile when someone finally finds peace after seeking for happiness for years...
I found Judah to be pretty relatable as an exaggerated version of some of my own personality traits. This bit really hit home for me and my feelings towards my boyfriend. Just felt like sharing

Maybe he'll babysit Ruthie someday if Todd is busy :P

What makes this scene really beautiful is that Judah isn’t a wonderful singer or anything. He’s just trying his best and that’s all that matters.
I love Judah. He’s so socially awkward and great at his job. This was the couple that made most sense
Loved this so much, probably one of the few pure scenes in the entire show
Our best girl gets the best boy.
I had no idea I wanted this couple, but it's just so perfect. PC has difficulty separating her personal and professional lives, and Judah has the same attitude and aptitude towards her work that she does. They're the perfect power couple.
this sounds exactly like The Mountain Goats
This is the funniest fucking comment
oh fish!!! this is the sweetest scene in the show!!😍
I love this couple, so calm. I wish they had more time to develop the relationship more, but I understand they did what they could, and it was good. Such a sweet couple
The beauty and complexity of this show is unmatched. From the happy go lucky never sad mr. Peanut butter to the nihilistic depressed addict Bojack horse they manage to sandwhich the very stoic Judah. This is the only scene where he truly shows some emotion. Coming from deeply learning philosophy, judah practices stoicism perfectly. Never to high, never to low. Top 3 charater for me. I applaud and appreciate the creators of this show. Art at its finest.
i was unclogging my drain when i was watching this episode, and ngl, i was weeping and crying under my sink . it was beautiful.
I was sad when they got married because it made me think about how Vincent Adultman screwed up his chances with PC. Both Vincent and PC are really good at business and being adults so I was kind of bummed out when they broke up. I think PC would've been a good stepmom to Vincent's kid as well. Just a missed opportunity by the writers I guess.
This was the single most moving scene in the show for me
I cried, I thought Judah would be too bookish/stoic to have feelings and here he had them for her the whole time. Her reaction was so cute
Judah and Princess Caroline really deserve each other
This scene hit like a truck when I saw it I would’ve never thought of those two being together but now that the show is over I love them to pieces
I literally gasped when he said that to her, I didn't even imagined it... But I loved it ❤❤❤❤
It took me until this very moment to understand why PC married Judah; he's 100% transparent.
Judah doesn't have anything to hide, no scheming, no planning, no plotting. He's honest, he's very precise, there's no hidden meanings in his words or actions.
Unlike her other boyfriends Bojack, Vincent, and Ralph who all had something to hide; Judah is Judah with zero complications.
And if you're wondering, Ralph was a good person with good intentions, but came from a very prejudice family and after her miscarriage he didn't reach out to her. Ralph didn't have anything to hide, but he wasn't forth-right with her either.
Yup Ralph's family is quite rotten
She worked so hard all her life and she deserves to be happy probably more than any other character on the show.
This is one of the best scenes of the Bojack Horseman show
I like that she didn't say I love you back, it makes it more real.
I'm a songwriter and I love this song, going to learn it and sing at the next jam. It is so touching in this episode. Bojack Horseman is an amazing series, cannot overstate the quality of its writing and animation. This is just one of hundreds of memorable moments, but may just be my favorite.
I legitimately didn’t realize Judah’s crush on PC until he explicitly said “I love you”
The general reception of Judah’s character among fans of the show somewhat reassures me as someone who may be on the spectrum. Not only is it difficult for people on the spectrum to feel like they can end up being happy with someone and appreciated, which Judah manages to achieve, but also the fans really appreciate Judah despite being a secondary character. It’s nice to see that people appreciate his uniqueness and quirks.
It shows that there are people who would be happy to have someone in their life with Judah’s traits, and that they are compatible with people who are upfront, independent and hard working like PC. But also that many fans of the show may appreciate having someone like that in their lives.
Incredibly realistic Gibson Hummingbird! Props to be responsible for details
pc was my favorite character and all i wanted was the best for her. when i first saw this scene i bawled my eyes out and now i'm crying again while i'm typing this. what's best for someone isn't always a person, or love, or romance... but in this case? yeah, she finally has someone who treats her the way she deserves to be treated and understands her for who she is and appreciates all of her qualities that others either took advantage of or dismissed. like?? tell me how that's not a good ending. and her smile says it all. she realizes she's worth that kind of love finally.
My husband is also on autistic spectrum, so Judah reminds me of him a little bit. Their journey towards one another is really subtly portrayed, and therefore so moving and genuine.
They fit together like puzzle pieces...but calling them pieces is undermining. They were both complete, amazing human beings that united create a whole new kingdom together. I was kinda shocked to see some people say that they shouldn't be together or that a connection like this can't be romantic...well. I'd say the truest love is, simply, certainty, and they embody this.
Yes and it's a sweet song between two different people! and nice to see you like Spirited Away. Great movie.
I shipped them since day one and I am so fucking happy about this.
Judah’s last lines were “I love you princess Carolyn” ❤️
