Your video quality was top notch! Those no name “accessories” from China sure can be a hassle! I’ve been through two sets of crash bars for my 500x, thankfully the price was right, but instructions, service, and replacement parts are nonexistent! Thanks for a nice video.

Have your friend check out Iron Skill in Ukraine. I recently bought a skid plate from them that I'm happy with. It's essentially a SW-Motech copy but at a lower price.

Thank you for the reference, I bought a bash plate from China as well all went ok, but I am not sure if the stock plastic heat shield should remain, it looks a bit unfinished or the aesthetics is off

If you can fit both the plastic trim and the skid plate then I don't see the harm. On this bike the skid plate interferes with the trim mounts so they cannot both be installed at once.

While there are no instructions, the skid plate mounts are NOT bent and they work IF positioned correctly. The left front goes on the INNER end of the engine mount boss,(don't remove the engine mount bolt). I supplied my own short 10x1.25 bolt for this. The right front replaces the R/F mount spacer, I had to add a thick washer to make up the difference. The shifter boss mount can be added to the backside of the shifter boss as well, use your own short bolt to secure the mounting tab. Much cleaner install as you maintain the factory shifter bearing and bolt.
Note: I have no affiliation with the seller of this skid plate, I bought one and it took a bit to figure it out.

The kit I used had one cooked weld that made the front left arm impossible to install. I understand what you're saying but I tried installing it that way as well and it wasn't even close to lining up because the angle is so far off, not just the alignment. No way around it. Honestly, it sounds like your kit was screwed up too because it should definitely not mount to the inner side of the motor mounts. Nobody would design it that way without a reason, and there's no reason you would need to do that. Especially considering you had to supply your own bolt, nut, and spacers to make that work. Interesting idea on the shifter mount.

@@EndlessMoneyPits Looks like they made it that way as mine lined up great that way and the L/F support is straight up and down. The shifter mount looks factory now, just how I like my mods to look.
I've been wrenching for years, got a lot of misc bolts, nuts, washers etc available for this kind of mystery!!
