It's been ten years since the last recording of this siren, so I figured I head back and check it out. Lots have changed. Their old, Sterling K2 has since been removed. It sat pretty close to this siren. No idea what happened to it. The siren looks way different than the original video too. There's a little more rust on this siren's brackets as well as algae growth making the siren look much older. But overall, I think I like the character it now has. The siren now does the 'wail' signal. French Lick, which borders West Baden, has the only sirens that run 'alert', although one of their T-128s recently got -130d so who knows haha.
Overall, I like how this video turned out. Color correcting was a pain, especially the drone footage. But the drone footage looked pretty. French Lick/West Baden is very scenic area as far as Indiana goes. I just wish it wasn't such a dreary, winter day.
Orange County routinely tests their sirens every Friday at Noon; rain or shine. Tests are cancelled when severe weather is expected or if it's super cold.
Enjoy, and as always comment, like, and subscribe for more. Thanks!

Great video! Hornets are honestly always neat to see, glad I've been able to record one personally, TBH.
Also, not sure if you've heard, but apparently Lauderdale County, AL, unfortunately no longer does full tests of their system. Apparently what they've opted for instead is individually checking each siren.
Hmm...that's an "interesting" way to test I guess lol. Hopefully they still manage to do a full, systemwide test at least monthly.
@@DSRX100 Not sure, TBH. I recall having to call them for most of the tests I recorded there, as they seemingly forgot and were running late, so I guess it isn't too surprising that they'd eventually stop doing full system tests entirely.
Wouldn't be too surprised if they at least ping the entire system every month.
Beautiful!
Beautiful video!
my gosh your video audio is soooo good... love it.
Sounds exactly like the Vortexes we have here in South Mississippi.
Love the drone shots! Speaking of... what drone do you use? I've been looking for one to buy that I know will be stable and decent quality.
how was it originally recorded on the 31st when it was uploaded on the 30th?
Typo, originally recorded in 2021 not 2022
Got a crusty hornet here.
who ever is flying the drone.... good job keeping it steady! it isn't easy for an unpracticed person
Thanks! The wind was very calm so it made it easer to get close and personal with this one.
Beautiful. I love me some wailing.
Same, it's better than the alert signal it used to do.
I like Electronic siren ( whelens mods eows etc.)
0:21 There's a DJI drone on top of that siren?!
It may be quiet and overplayed, but I love Whelen wail. Something about it is just 👌.
Especially when you have a giant system doing wail. The sound is so good
Nice
What’s the green stuff on it?
Mildew probably
The fact that this does wail now makes me wonder what it does when Hi-Lo is tested, mainly if it’s set up the same was as Paoli’s Hornets.
It seems like this one is seperate from Paoli's system. So it probably just did alert or wail. The way their Whelens are setup here are pretty interesting.
3:18 what siren is that it sounds like a t128
Yep. It has since been replaced by a 2001
Nice 🖒
Hey DSRX100, There is a Federal Signal STL-10A in Glendale, KY. But I'm not sure if it's active or not. It's located at the Glendale Fire Station.
Hey there, yeah I've noticed that siren. I might have to check it out whenever I get a free day. Would be very cool if it was!
I wish they still did hi-lo
This one probably never did hi lo. It seems like only Paoli's Hornets would do Hi-Lo when given the right command.
@@DSRX100 oh ok
❤😂🎉
It sounds like israel air raid sirens
If only It did Hi-Lo...
This one probably never did hi-lo when the command was sent. It seems like Paoli's Hornets were the only ones doing it.
